Oberbergtal

The Kalkkögel are a mountain chain that is part of the Stubai Alps in Tyrol, Austria. The highest point of the Kalkkögel is the Schlicker Seespitze which reaches a height of 2,804 m (AA); its easternmost mountain is the Ampferstein. The name is plural.

The Hoher Burgstall is a mountain, 2,611 m, in the Kalkkögel mountain chain in the Stubai Alps, southeast of the Schlicker Seespitze (2,804 m) mountain, the tallest in the Kalkkögel. Its summit offers a good view into the Oberbergtal, the upper Stubaital, the Serles ridge and the majority of the Kalkkögel.

The Schlicker Seespitze, at 2,804 m (AA), is the highest peak in the Kalkkögel range in Austria's Stubai Alps, and the southwestern cornerstone of the chain. This mountain, known for being extremely prone to landslides, is a good observation point. It is located near the village of Schlick. From Schlick, the mountain appears like a deeply clefted rock massif with a huge southern arête crowned by the rock pinnacles of the Schlicker Manndln. From the other side, it resembles a crumbling, gashed peak rising above its scree slopes. The isolated Seejoch tower soars prominently over the Seejöchl saddle.

Neustift im Stubaital is a municipality in the district Innsbruck-Land in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It is the third largest municipality of Tyrol in area. It is a major tourist centre, with more than 1 million overnight stays per year.

The Stubai Hohenweg or Stubai highroute is a high-level footpath approximately 120 km long, which can be done in 8 or 9 days. It is designed to be a circular route starting in Neustift, but can be started from elsewhere, for example Fulpmes. The path is by alpine and high alpine terrain, between 2000 and 3000 m. Some sections are secured by cable, but the route avoids glaciers.

The Marchreisenspitze, at 2,620 m, is the fifth highest summit of the Kalkkögel in the Stubai Alps. Together with the Ampferstein and the Malgrubenspitze, they form the well known Dreigestirn ("Three Stars") above the Axamer Lizum, which are visible far into the Inn valley.

The Stubai Valley or Stubaital is an alpine valley in Tyrol, Austria. It is the central valley of the Stubai Alps. The river Ruetz flows through the valley. This 35-km long valley runs in northeastern direction from the main chain of the Alps to Schönberg im Stubaital, near Innsbruck. Below Fulpmes, the villages lie on terraces above the Ruetz on either side of the river. South of Neustift im Stubaital, the largest side valley Oberbergtal joins from the west. The ÖBB operates a 16-MW hydroelectric power plant in Fulpmes. The following five municipalities lie in the valley: Schönberg im Stubaital, Mieders, Telfes, Fulpmes and Neustift im Stubaital. Public transportation from Innsbruck into the valley is available via the Stubaital bus route or the Stubai Valley Railway, which runs from Innsbruck to Fulpmes. At the end of the Stubaital valley the Stubai Glacier is used as a ski resort.

Sellrain is a municipality in the district of Innsbruck-Land in the Austrian state of Tyrol located 14.40 km southwest of Innsbruck in the Sellrain Valley. The River Melach and its tributary the Fotscherbach flow through it. Most inhabitants are farmers and also have another job in the neighboring Innsbruck. There are two Catholic churches in the village St. Quirin and St. Anna. They are both over 300 years old.

The Fotscherbach is a river of Tyrol, Austria. The Fotscherbach has a length of 12.30 km (7.64 mi). It originates in the Stubai Alps on a height of 2200 m (AA) (7,200 ft). It flows in northern direction to the village of Sellrain where it dischanges from the right into the Melach. The water has A/B grade quality.

Axamer Lizum is a village and ski resort in Austria, located southwest of Innsbruck in the state of Tyrol. At the 1964 Winter Olympics, it hosted five of the six alpine skiing events: women's downhill, and men's and women's slalom and giant slalom. Men's downhill was held at Patscherkofel. Twelve years later in 1976, it hosted exactly the same alpine skiing events. The ski area is well known for a large variety of options to ski or snowboard off the marked piste. The highest location of the ski area is the mountain Hoadl with an altitude of 2,340 m, which is relatively high for a ski area in this region of the Alps. Thus, the Axamer Lizum has a reputation to be among the last (non glacier-based) ski resorts in the north of Tyrol which have sufficient snow for winter sport at the end of winter.

The Östliche Seespitze is a mountain, 3,416 m (AA), in the Stubai Alps in Austria. It belongs to the Alpeiner Mountains (Alpeiner Berge) and is their second highest peak after the Ruderhofspitze. In addition, it is the highest point in the chain that runs northeast from the Westliche Seespitze, which separates the Falbesontal valley in the southeast from the Alpeiner Valley to the northwest. The Alpeiner Kräulferner, a glacier on its north flank, gives the Östlichen Seespitze a much wilder appearance than from the south.

Grinzens is a municipality in the Austrian state of Tyrol in the district of Innsbruck-Land. As of January 2015, its population is 1414. It lies southwest of the city of Innsbruck at an elevation of 945 m.
