Printemps Haussmann

Printemps (pronounced [pʁɛ̃tɑ̃]; meaning "springtime" in French) is a French department store chain (French: grand magasin, literally "big store"). The Printemps stores focus on beauty, lifestyle, fashion, accessories, and men's wear. The Printemps was a founder and has been a member of the International Association of department stores from 1928 to 1997, an international body still active as of today.

Auber (French pronunciation: ​[obɛːʁ]) is a station on RER A in Paris. Opened on 23 November 1971 and inaugurated during a ceremony by singers Dalida and Adamo, it is one of the largest vaulted underground stations in the world. The station comprises a main train hall with a superposed ticket hall, together with an extensive network of tunnels connecting to the neighbouring Métro stations Opéra, Havre–Caumartin and Saint-Lazare, as well as Haussmann–Saint-Lazare on RER E. It takes its name from Rue Auber, under which it is situated. This street is in turn named after the mostly forgotten 19th-century composer Daniel Auber. A complete renovation of the station was started in 2017 and is due to be finished in 2022.

On 5 June 2013, a fight between far-left and far-right activists in Paris resulted in the death of 18-year-old left-winger Clément Méric (French pronunciation: [klemɑ̃ meʁik]). Two far-right skinheads, Esteban Morillo and Samuel Dufour, were indicted for his death. In September 2018, they were convicted of manslaughter and weapon supply respectively, and sentenced to 11 and 5 years in prison respectively. Morillo was freed on licence that November after an appeal, Dufour in January 2019, and a second trial began in December 2019. In June 2021, they were sentenced to 8 and 5 years respectively. The lengthy judicial process centred around contentious points: Méric's own responsibility in the violence, and whether or not the accused had brass knuckles, an illegal weapon regardless of context.

Saint-Louis-d'Antin is a Roman Catholic parish church located at 63 rue Caumartin in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, next to Place Georges-Berry, close to the major Paris department stores Printemps and Galeries Lafayette, and the Gare Saint-Lazare railway station. It was originally built in 1783 as a monastery chapel, then became a parish church in 1802. It is known for its lavish Neclassical interior and its collection of 19th century paintings and stained glass.

Havre–Caumartin (French pronunciation: ​[avʁ komaʁtɛ̃]) is a station on Line 3 and Line 9 of the Paris Métro. It is located in the 9th arrondissement.

Haussmann–Saint-Lazare is a station on the RER in Paris, France. Opened on 14 July 1999 as the terminus of the new Line E, it is situated beneath Boulevard Haussmann and directly connected to Paris–Saint-Lazare, Auber RER, and two metro stations.

The Rue de Caumartin in the 9th arrondissement of Paris received its name from Antoine-Louis Lefebvre de Caumartin, marquis de Saint-Ange, Comte de Moret (1725-1803), who was prévôt des marchands (1778-1784). He gave the authorization to open the street on 3 July 1779. Opened in 1780, the street extended from the rue Basse-du-Rempart located at the foot of the rampart (now Boulevard des Capucines) to rue Neuve-des-Mathurins through land acquired from the priests mathurins by Charles-Marin Delahaye, general-farmer. Further on the north, was the small street Thiroux opened in 1773 by President Thiroux of Arconvillé. And the small rue Sainte-Croix opened further on the north in 1780 through marshes and fields. The Rue de Caumartin absorbed them on 5 May 1849.The French architect Aubert built 28 mansions in the area, including the n°1 and n°2, on each side of the street at the beginning and the junction with the Boulevard des Capucines. They were decorated with figures in half relief, small amours, medallions, and various ornaments. Both included an outside rotunda on the street.

Passage du Havre is one of the covered passages of Paris. Formerly geared towards fish shops and railway modelling (Hornby, La Maison du Train), the arcade was rebuilt in the late 1990s as a modern mall at the time as the construction of Paris' RER E underground railway line, to welcome new shops more in keeping with the Quartier de l'Opéra-Saint Lazare, the heart of Paris major business district. The passage is near Gare Saint-Lazare and opposite the Hilton Paris Opera (the station's hotel). It begins at Place du Havre and leads onto Rue de Caumartin where it ends. The shopping centre is owned and maintained by Eurocommercial Properties N.V..

The Éden-Théâtre was a large theatre (4,000 seats) in the rue Boudreau, Paris, built at the beginning of the 1880s by the architects William Klein and Albert Duclos (1842–1896) in a style influenced by orientalism. It was demolished in 1895.

The Lycée Condorcet (French: [lise kɔ̃dɔʁsɛ]) is a school founded in 1803 in Paris, France, located at 8, rue du Havre, in the city's 9th arrondissement. It is one of the four oldest high schools in Paris and also one of the most prestigious. Since its inception, various political eras have seen it given a number of different names, but its identity today honors the memory of the Marquis de Condorcet. The school provides secondary education as part of the French education system. Henri Bergson, Horace Finaly, Claude Lévi-Strauss, Marcel Proust, Francis Poulenc and Paul Verlaine are some of the students who attended the Lycée Condorcet. Some of the school's famous teachers include Jean Beaufret, Paul Bénichou, Jean-Marie Guyau, Jean-Paul Sartre, and Stéphane Mallarmé.

The Théâtre de l'Athénée is a theatre at 7 rue Boudreau, in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. Renovated in 1996 and classified a historical monument, the Athénée inherits an artistic tradition marked by the figure of Louis Jouvet who directed the theatre from 1934 to 1951. During the period when he was director, it became known as the Athenée Théâtre Louis-Jouvet.

The Compagnie des chemins de fer de Paris à Lyon et à la Méditerranée ("Railway Company of Paris to Lyon and the Mediterranean"), also known as the Chemins de fer Paris-Lyon-Méditerranée or simply PLM, established in 1857, was one of France’s main railway companies until the nationalization of all French railways and establishment of the Société nationale des chemins de fer français (SNCF) on 1 January 1938.
