William James College, formerly Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology (MSPP), is a private college of psychology in Newton, Massachusetts. With more than 750 students, William James College offers graduate academic degree and certificate programs across four departments: Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Organizational and Leadership Psychology, and School Psychology, as well as a Bachelor of Science completion program in Psychology and Human Services.

The Working Boys Home is a historic orphanage building at 333 Nahanton Street in Newton, Massachusetts. The four story Romanesque brick building was designed by church architects constructed William H. and John A. McGinty, and built in 1896. The building follows a rough H pattern, with a seven-story tower at the right front. The building's walls are red brick, with granite trim elements. The roof is slate, with copper flashing and two coppered cupolas. The building cost $300,000 to build, a large sum for the time, and very nearly bankrupted the organization, which provided housing for homeless boys in exchange for a share of their wages. The facility was managed by the Xaverian Brothers until the 1970s.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. The property is now the campus of the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center.

Mount Ida College was a private college in Newton, Massachusetts. In 2018, the University of Massachusetts Amherst acquired the campus and renamed it the Mount Ida Campus of UMass Amherst.

Cutler Park is a state-owned nature preserve and public recreation area that lies between Route 128/I-95 and the Charles River in Needham, Massachusetts. The state park's 772 acres (312 ha) contain the largest remaining freshwater marsh on the middle Charles River. Parts of its major trail run directly through the marsh via boardwalks; over 100 species of birds have been sighted here. The park is part of a plan by the Town of Needham to connect 18 public areas by 35 proposed trails. It is managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.

Oak Hill Park (OHP) is a residential subdivision located in the Oak Hill village of Newton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Oak Hill Park is shown as a separate and distinct village on some city maps, including a map dated 2012 on the official City of Newton website. Situated adjacent to Boston (West Roxbury), Oak Hill Park is roughly bounded by Mount Ida College to its northwest, Dedham Street to the northeast, the Charles River to the southwest, and Mount Lebanon Cemetery and the Boston city limit to the southeast.

The Dr. Henry Jacob Bigelow House is a historic house at 72-80 Ober Road in the Oak Hill village of Newton, Massachusetts. Built in 1887, it is one of the last private residences designed by noted American architect Henry Hobson Richardson. It was converted into condominiums in the 1980s by the PBS program This Old House. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Oak Hill is one of the thirteen villages within the city of Newton in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States.

The House at 230 Winchester Street in the Newton Highlands section of Newton, Massachusetts, is an elaborate and well-preserved Italianate house. The 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built in 1873. Its most prominent feature is a 3+1⁄2-story mansard-roofed tower with paired narrow round-arch windows at the third level. The tower is located in the crook of the L-shaped house, whose side section is hip-roofed, while the front-facing section of the L has a hipped gable end with a round-arch window in the gable. The motif of a small gable section is repeated above some of the windows and in the roof line of the tower.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
