BronxCare Hospital System

On June 30, 2017, at around 2:45 PM EDT, a doctor opened fire at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in the Bronx, New York City, United States, killing a doctor on the 17th floor and wounding six people on the 16th floor with an AR-15-type semi-automatic rifle. The shooter was later identified as 45-year-old Nigerian-born Dr. Henry Michael Bello, a family physician formerly employed by the hospital.

Mount Eden Hospital (also known as Mt. Eden Hospital or Mt. Eden General Hospital) was located in the Bronx; it was razed in 2011. The BronxCare Health and Wellness Center, an outpatient medical facility, now exists at that location.The name "Mt. Eden Hospital" is used in The Unruly Life of Woody Allen.

Jonathan Levin High School for Media and Communications is a public high school located in The Bronx, New York City. It is one of six smaller specialty high schools located on the campus of the former William H. Taft High School, which was closed in 2008 and divided into separate collocated specialty schools. It is scheduled to close in June 2016.

William Howard Taft High School is a former New York City high school in the southwest section of the Bronx, whose building now houses small specialized high schools. The school was operated by the New York City Department of Education. The Taft school campus is located on Sheridan Avenue and 172nd Street in the Bronx.

This station was constructed by the Interborough Rapid Transit Company as part of the Dual Contracts and opened in 1917.

Central Maternity Hospital was a Bronx hospital which opened 1938 and closed 1958. It was operated by Dr. Morris Leff, who initially called his facility Dr. Morris Leff Maternity Hospital.

The 170th Street station is a local station on the IND Concourse Line of the New York City Subway, located at the Grand Concourse between East 170th and 171st Streets in the Highbridge neighborhood of the Bronx. It is served by the D train at all times except rush hours in the peak direction and the B train during rush hours. The station opened in 1933, along with the rest of the Concourse Line.

The Church of Our Lady of Victory is a Roman Catholic parish church under the authority of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located at Webster Avenue, Tremont, Bronx, New York City. The parish was established in 1909.

Green Worker Cooperatives (GWC) is a non-profit organization that incubates environmentally sustainable worker cooperatives in the South Bronx of New York City. The organization, founded in 2003 by Omar Freilla, seeks to create green-collar jobs and promotes environmental justice through the creation of cooperatives. GWC is a member of the United States Federation of Worker Cooperatives. In 2008, Green Worker Cooperatives started ReBuilders Source, a worker cooperative that reuses discarded building materials. Founder Freilla received the Rockefeller Foundation’s Jane Jacobs Medal and $100,000 which he used to finance the organization. Rebuilders Source also received a $70,000 grant from Citgo.
