The 2016 Budapest bombing occurred on 24 September when a young man detonated a nail bomb to kill two patrolling police officers. A policeman and a policewoman (the latter, coincidentally, the poster face of the Hungarian police's recruiting campaign) suffered injuries but survived the attack. After the incident the police chief in charge announced a full-scale investigation and promised to give 10 million HUF to the ones who reported the perpetrator. According to Zsolt Molnár, the chairman of the National Security Commission of the Hungarian Parliament, the attack unlikely had anything to do with other terror-related incidents in Europe in 2016.

Oktogon is a station of the yellow M1 (Millennium Underground) line of the Budapest Metro under Oktogon. The station is located at the junction of Budapest's Grand Boulevard (Nagykörút) and Andrássy Avenue (Andrássy út). It was opened on 2 May 1896 as part of the inaugural section of the Budapest Metro, between Vörösmarty tér and Széchenyi fürdő. This section, known as the Millennium Underground Railway, was the first metro system in continental Europe. In 2002, it was included into the World Heritage Site "Budapest, including the Banks of the Danube, the Buda Castle Quarter and Andrássy Avenue".

Oktogon is one of Pest's major intersections, located at the junction of the Grand Boulevard (Nagykörút) and Andrássy Avenue (Andrássy út) in Budapest, Hungary. This junction, one of the city's most important, is named for its octagonal shape.Oktogon is also a station on the yellow M1 (Millennium Underground) line of the Budapest Metro, which runs underneath Andrássy Avenue to Heroes' Square (Hősök tere).

The Corinthia Hotel Budapest at the Elizabeth Boulevard in Budapest, is a historic luxury hotel. Opened in 1896 as the Grand Hotel Royal, a hub for the elite of 19th century society, the hotel has undergone extensive modification throughout the 20th century, and has in the 21st century been restored and reopened as the Corinthia.

The Klauzál Square Market Hall or Market Hall III (formerly István Square Market Hall) is one of the great Budapest market halls built under the monarchy. VII. district located in Klauzál Square, built in 1897 III. Market Hall. Its designers were the architects of the Budapest engineering office, József Kommer and Pál Klunzinger. In connection with the market hall, an apartment building was also built on Klauzál Square, which made it possible to rent outlets at lower prices. The number of contemporary sales outlets was over 300. Interestingly, Kosher food was available in a separate space in the hall, being in the Jewish Quarter. The building, which became dilapidated in the second half of the 20th century, was renovated in 2014-2015, taking into account its original state and modern needs.

The Klauzál tér (or Klauzal Square) was the largest square in the former Jewish quarter of Budapest, Hungary. Located in the seventh district, it was the heart of the city's old Jewish quarter. Nowadays, this area is also known as the party district in Hungarian bulinegyed, because of its many pubs nearby.

House of Terror is a museum located at Andrássy út 60 in Budapest, Hungary. It contains exhibits related to the fascist and communist regimes in 20th-century Hungary and is also a memorial to the victims of these regimes, including those detained, interrogated, tortured or killed in the building. The museum opened on 24 February 2002 and the Director-General of the museum since then has been Dr Mária Schmidt. The House of Terror is a member organization of the Platform of European Memory and Conscience. Visitors including Zbigniew Brzezinski, Francis Fukuyama and Hayden White have praised the Museum.

Akácfa utca (Acacia Road) is located in Erzsébetváros in Budapest, Hungary, between Rákóczi út and Király utca. It is named after the Robinia pseudoacacia that dominated the area in the 18th century. This road was initially called Akatziengasse. From 1838, the segment of the road between Dohány utca and Dob utca was still called Akatziengasse (Akácfa utca), but between Dob utcától and Király utca it was known as the Kleine Akatziengasse (Little Acacia Road). These were unified in 1874 and it has been called Akácfa utca since then.The headquarters of BKV are situated on this street.

The Budapest Ghetto was a Nazi ghetto set up in Budapest, Hungary, where Jews were forced to relocate by a decree of the Government of National Unity led by the fascist Arrow Cross Party during the final stages of World War II. The ghetto existed from November 29, 1944, to January 17, 1945.

The Hungarian University of Fine Arts (Hungarian: Magyar Képzőművészeti Egyetem, MKE) is the central Hungarian art school in Budapest, Andrássy Avenue. It was founded in 1871 as the Hungarian Royal Drawing School (Magyar Királyi Mintarajztanoda) and has been called University of Fine Arts since 2001.

The Budapest Puppet Theater (Hungarian: Budapest Bábszínház) has been open since 1949, with its primary venue currently situated at 69 Andrássy út, Budapest. Since then, both children and adults are warmly welcome to their performances, because they have a motto that “the puppet is not the matter of age, but a genre.”
