Koottala is a village in Thrissur district, Kerala, India. As of 30 December 2009, the village had a population of 2594 people spread over 572 households under the jurisdiction of pananchery, peechi, mulayam and ollukkara Village . The name Koottala coming from the language Malayalam Aal (Banyan tree), because once upon a time there were a lot of banyan trees. Koottala Sri Mahavishnu Temple is located only 800 metres from Koottala Centre and one Karthyayani temple also located here with a big 'old Pala tree'. Koottala is also known for many Christian churches. Prominent among them are Pentecostal churches such as IPC Thabore Koottala East, IPC Koottala West.

Chittilamchery (also known as Chittlancherry or Chittalancheri) (Pronunciation ) is a village in the Palakkad district of Kerala located in Vadakkanchery - Kollengode main road. It is under the administration of the Melarcode Panchayath in the Alathur Taluk.

Aathanad is a mountain situated in Vallanghy, Nemmara, Palakkad district, Kerala. It is famous for the Ayyappa Temple in the top of the mountain. The annual festival held here on Malayalam month Dhanu 9 or (24 December). People from different places will come here to hire this mountain to get blessed. Nellikulangara Temple is situated in the valley of this Aathanad, where the famous Vallanghy-Nenmara Vela is celebrating every year. From the top of the Aathanadu mountain we will get a great view of the Vallanghy, Nemmara towns, Pothundi Dam, Nelliyampathy hills and the green carpet of paddy fields which makes Palakkad the Granary of Kerala. The mountain hiring gives a good experience.

Thrippalur Mahadeva Temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, Krishna and Narasimha is situated on the banks of the Gayatri river at Alathur of Palakkad District in Kerala state in India. References to this temple are found in many of the classics of Malayalam Literature. According to folklore, sage Parashurama has installed the idol of Lord Shiva in the Treta Yuga. The temple is a part of the 108 famous Shiva temples in Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Lord Narasimha and Lord Krishna in addition to Lord Shiva. Therefore, the Saiva-Vaishnava glow is a holy abode.

NSS College, Nemmara is a college of higher education in Nemmara town in Palakkad district of Kerala. It is managed by the Nair Service Society (NSS) and is affiliated to the University of Calicut. The college was inaugurated by the founding father of NSS, Mannathu Padmanabhan on 28 February 1966. The college has celebrated its Silver Jubilee in the year 1991–92. College is located in the vicinity of Western Ghats encompassing the picturesque hills of Nelliyampathi. College caters to the needs of the rural students of Nemmara and other neighboring areas like Ayalur, Melarkode, and Alathur. The college is situated in a campus of 38 acres (150,000 m2) and has Twelve UG courses and Three PG course. There are five departments under the faculty of Science - Mathematics, Physics and Instrumentation, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology and four departments under the faculty of Arts namely History, Political Science, Economics, Malayalam and English. There are three language departments - Malayalam, Sanskrit and Hindi. Commerce and Business Administration are under the faculty of Commerce. Physical Education is another department in the college. There are two self-financing courses.

Pudiyankam, or Puthiyankam is a village in Alathur Taluk, located in the Palakkad district of the southern Indian state of Kerala.

Avitis Institute of Medical Sciences is an Indian hospital based in Palakkad, Kerala, India. In May 2018, two of the hospital's executive directors, Santhi Promoth and Jyothy Palat, reached out to help the family of nurse Lini Puthussery. They learned nurse Lini had died within days of contracting the Nipah virus after dutifully attending to the first victim of the virus outbreak in Kerala. The executives promised they would see to it that the educational expenses of Lini's children, ages 2 and 5 at the time of her death, would be covered, beginning with the 2019 academic year and carrying forward to when they acquire a professional degree or begin a postgraduate course. In August 2018, the hospital again gained notability for their aid and rescue efforts when helping the victims of Nelliyampathy, Kerala after flooding and heavy rains caused 70 landslides making roads impossible from the upper reaches of the Nelliyampathy Mountains to the mainland.

Arangattu Parambu is a small village on the way to Pudiyankam from Alathur taluk in Palakkad district of Kerala, South India. It is a part of Pudiyankam Desam. There are some remnants of an old Shiva temple. A legend is that it was a very big temple, demolished during Tippu Sultan's aggression. There is a small mount nearby called Pallikkunnu, and a pond near to the remnants of the temple called Pallikkulam. The word "Palli" is always related to some thing royal or religions.

Kunissery is a village in the Palakkad district of Kerala state, South India. The closest towns are Alathur (about 7 km away) and Kollengode (about 10 km). Kunissery is at Alathur - Kollengode main road. Kunissery has two temples where two different goddesses are worshipped. Kunissery's famous festival is Kumatti which is celebrated on the birthday of the local goddess, Pookulathi Amma, on the Punartham star of Meena Masam (as per Hindu calendar). It is a quaint and simple village where farming is still one of the main source of income for many of the households.
