Junction 8

Bishan MRT station is a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station on the North South (NSL) and Circle (CCL) lines in Bishan, Singapore. Located along Bishan Road within the town centre area, it is integrated with the Junction 8 shopping centre and close to the Bishan Bus Interchange. Nearby schools include Raffles Institution, Catholic High School and the Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Primary and Secondary Schools. Initially announced as Kampung San Teng, it was renamed San Teng and subsequently Bishan. Opened on 7 November 1987, Bishan NSL station was one of the first five stations on the MRT network. During the construction of the CCL station, the original island platform of the NSL was split into two separate side platforms and the station was upgraded to cope with increased passenger traffic from the CCL, which opened on 28 May 2009. In 2017, a major flood in the tunnels between this station and Braddell station disrupted train services on the NSL. The Bishan NSL station is the only ground-level station on the network, while the CCL station features an Art-in-Transit artwork Move! by Soh Ee Shaun. Due to the stations' location near a former cemetery, it has been alleged that the station is haunted.

The Bishan Public Library is a library in the National Library Board network situated at Bishan, Singapore just behind Junction 8 Shopping Centre. It opened on 1 September 2006 by Mr Wong Kan Seng, then Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, and Member of Parliament representing the Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC.

The Bishan Bus Interchange is a bus interchange serving Bishan, Singapore. The interchange commenced passenger service as Bishan Bus Terminal in 1988, with Services 56 and 58. Located at Bishan Street 13, it is designed in a unique squarish configuration with the building wrapping around the bus parking area. The Ministry of Education Language Centre (MOELC) lies across the field to the north. Passengers also able to transfer to the Circle Line from an entrance located right outside the interchange.

The Singapore Scout Association ("SSA") was founded in 1910, two years after the Scout Movement was launched by Robert Baden-Powell in Great Britain. This makes it the oldest established youth movement in Singapore. As an organization within a multilingual country, the Association is called in Malay: Persatuan Pengakap Singapura-PPS, simplified Chinese: 新加坡童军总会; traditional Chinese: 新加坡童軍總會; pinyin: Xīnjiāpō Tóngjūn Zǒnghuì.

Girl Guides Singapore (GGS; Malay: Pandu Puteri Singapura) is the national Guiding organisation of Singapore. It was first established in 1917 as The Singapore Girl Guides Association, before being renamed to its current iteration on 24 July 2004. The girls-only organisation became a full member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 1966 and serves 12,340 members.

Bishan Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Bishan, Singapore. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium was constructed in 1998 and is managed by Sport Singapore. The public can use the facilities from 4:30 am to 8:30 pm daily unless it is exclusively booked for a sporting event. An indoor sports hall with facilities for badminton, table tennis and gymnastics lies adjacent to the stadium.

Bishan Sports Hall is situated in the central part of Singapore at Bishan. Bishan Sports Hall is part of the Bishan Sports Recreation Centre, which includes Bishan Stadium and Bishan Sports Complex.

Raffles Institution (RI) is an independent educational institution in Bishan, Singapore. Founded in 1823 and named after Stamford Raffles, it is the oldest school in the country. It provides secondary education for boys only from Years 1 to 4, and pre-university education for both boys and girls in Years 5 and 6. Since 2007, RI and its affiliated school Raffles Girls' School have offered a six-year Raffles Programme, which allows students to skip the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level examinations and proceed to take the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examinations at the end of Year 6. RI is notable for having produced 96 President's Scholars, three Presidents, two Prime Ministers, four Speakers of Parliament, several Cabinet Ministers and Members of Parliament, as well as many Chief Executive Officers of government-linked statutory boards and agencies. Its alumni body, the Old Rafflesians Association (ORA), includes former prime ministers Lee Kuan Yew and Goh Chok Tong, as well as former presidents Yusof Ishak, Benjamin Henry Sheares and Wee Kim Wee.RI has had the highest number of admissions to the University of Cambridge, with 35 students receiving offers in the 2019 admissions cycle, while 52 were accepted for Oxford and Cambridge combined in 2021.

Catholic High School (CHS) is a government-aided autonomous Catholic boys' school in Bishan, Singapore, founded in 1935 by a French missionary, Reverend Father Edward Becheras. One of the Special Assistance Plan schools in Singapore, it has a primary school section offering a six-year primary education, as well as a secondary school section offering a four-year secondary education. Since 2013, it has partnered with Eunoia Junior College for a six-year Integrated Programme, which allows its secondary school students to proceed to Eunoia for Years 5 and 6 and take the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examinations at the end of Year 6.

Catholic Junior College (CJC) (Chinese: 公教初级学院) is a junior college in Singapore, offering a two-year course for pre-university students leading to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examination. Founded in 1975, Catholic Junior College was the third junior college to be established in Singapore.
