The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral is a religious building located in the city of Kathmandu, capital of the Asian country of Nepal.It began as the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption which was dedicated by Cardinal Jozef Tomko, prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on 15 August 1995. The church is located on the outskirts of Lalitpur in Kathmandu. The parish of St. Mary of the Assumption has 2,290 Catholics. The pastor of the cathedral is the father Silas Bogati. On May 23, 2009, the day the Parliament elected the prime minister, a bomb attack damaged the Cathedral of the Assumption, the only place of Catholic worship allowed in the country. The explosion, caused by a bomb placed under a seat among the faithful, left three dead and 13 wounded. The temple follows the Roman or Latin rite and functions as the headquarters of the Apostolic Vicariate of Nepal (Vicariatus Apostolicus Nepalianus) which was raised to its current status by Pope Benedict XVI through the bull "Ad aptius consulendum"

AVM Higher Secondary School is one of the oldest and largest schools in Nepal. It was established in 1966 in Manbhawan, Lalitpur, by educator Satya Narayan Bahadur Shrestha. It has won several awards for its excellent results in national level examinations held by the Higher Secondary Education Board of Nepal. In 2016, it celebrated its fifty year golden jubilee.

Harihar Bhawan is a Rana palace in Patan, Nepal the capital of the Nepal. The palace complex, located west of the Shree Durbar, was incorporated in an impressive and vast array of courtyards, gardens and buildings.

Lalitpur Metropolitan City (Sanskrit: पाटन Pāṭana, Nepal bhasa : 𑐫𑐮‎ Yela, ) is a Metropolitan city and fourth most populous city of Nepal with 299,843 inhabitants living in 49,044 households per 2021 census. It is located in the south-central part of Kathmandu Valley, a large valley in the high plateaus in central Nepal, at an altitude of 1,400 metres (4,600 feet). Lalitpur is also known as Manigal. It is best known for its rich cultural heritage, particularly its tradition of arts and crafts. It has a multi-ethnic population within a Hindu and Buddhist majority. Religious and cultural festivities form a major part of the lives of people residing in Kathmandu. Tourism is an important part of the economy in the city It is city renowned for its festival and feast, fine ancient art, and the making of metallic, wood and stone carved statues. Lalitpur is also the home to Patan Durbar Square which has been listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Jāwalākhel (Nepali: जावलाखेल) is a subdivision of Lalitpur in Nepal. It is located 2 km from the ancient city centre Pātan, one of the three great capitals of Nepal until the 18th century. It derives its name from Jaulakhel Durbar, a palace located in Jawalakhel that was built by Bir Shumsher Jang Bahadur Rana in 1954 BS.

Lalitpur District (Nepali: ललितपुर जिल्लाListen , a part of Bagmati Province, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal. The district, with Lalitpur as its district headquarters, covers an area of 396.92 km2 (153.25 sq mi) and has a population (2001) of 337,785. It is one of the three districts in the Kathmandu Valley, along with Kathmandu and Bhaktapur. Its population was 466,784 in the initial 2011 census tabulation. It is surrounded by Makwanpur, Bhaktapur, Kathmandu and Kavre.

Shree Durbar (aka Shri Durbar) is a Rana palace in Kathmandu, Patan, Nepal the capital of Nepal. The palace complex, located east of the Lazimpat Durbar next to Patan Dhoka, was incorporated in an impressive and vast array of courtyards, gardens and buildings. Sri Durbar was built by Chandra Shumsher JBR in 1927.

Nepal Open University (Nepali: नेपाल खुला विश्वविद्यालय) is a distance learning public university in Nepal. It was established in 2016 through an act of Parliament. The degrees awarded by the university are treated as equivalent to degrees awarded by any other Nepali University under the purview of the University Grants Commission.

Pimbahal Pond (also known as Pimbahaa Pukhoo, and Pim Bahal Pokhari; Nepali: पिम्बहाल पोखरी) is an artificial pond located in Lalitpur, Nepal (historically known as Patan). According to Nepalese folklore, the pond was built by Lakheys, a type of demon. In 1967, the Nepalese government tried to turn the pond into a market, but received local resistance. Pimbahal Pond was destroyed due to the 1934 Nepal–India earthquake and the April 2015 Nepal earthquake. But was rebuilt after those incidents.

Madan Puraskār Pustakālaya (Nepali: मदन पुरस्कार पुस्तकालय) is a library of books and periodicals in the Nepali language. The library is a not-for-profits and non-governmental institution that is run by a trust. In addition to the archive, the library is involved in many other areas like publishing, educational training and development of information technology in Nepali language. The library also manages Madan Puraskar and Jagadamba Shree Purasakar prizes. The library is located at Patan Dhoka, Lalitpur, Nepal.

Patan Hospital is a teaching hospital for the Patan Academy of Health Sciences. Patan Hospital is one of the largest hospitals in Nepal. It uses modern equipment and facilities to provide treatment for almost 320,000 outpatients and 20,000 inpatients every year. Patan Hospital staff conduct more than 10,000 operations annually. The hospital has been operating with an annual revenue of around US$3.5 million. It serves people from every district of Nepal, from the remote villages as well as from the Kathmandu valley. Patan Hospital has 320 beds, which has increased to 450, after the completion of its maternity ward building construction.

Pulchowk Campus (Nepali: पुल्चोक क्याम्पस), commonly known as Pulchowk Engineering Campus (पुल्चोक ईन्जिनियरिङ क्याम्पस), is one of the five constituent campuses of the Tribhuvan University, Institute of Engineering in Nepal. Other four constituent campuses are Thapathali Campus, Paschimanchal Campus, Purwanchal Campus, and Chitwan Engineering Campus. This is the central campus of Institute of Engineering (IOE), situated in Lalitpur metropolitan city. The campus offers bachelor's degree, master's degree and doctoral degree programs. Every year, IOE conducts an entrance examination for the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.)/Bachelor in Architecture (B.Arch.) degrees. Students from all over Nepal who wish to study engineering/architecture appear for this exam and only the students on merit basis get the chance to study at the Pulchowk Campus. The campus only takes 624 students from about 15,000 candidates, which roughly estimates the acceptance rate to be 3.8%.
