The Eternal Indian, sometimes called the Black Hawk Statue, is a 48-foot (14.6 m) sculpture by Lorado Taft located in Lowden State Park, near the city of Oregon, Illinois. Dedicated in 1911, the statue is perched over the Rock River on a 77-foot (23.5 m) bluff overlooking the city. The statue, according to the artist, represents the unconquerable spirit of Native Americans, using motifs from several tribal cultures. While not a portrait statue, it was in part inspired by the life of Black Hawk (1767–1838), a leader and warrior of the Sauk. In 2009, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Lowden State Park is an Illinois state park on 207 acres (84 ha) in Ogle County, Illinois, United States. The park was named after Governor Frank Orren Lowden. Governor Lowden had served Illinois during World War I. Lowden State Park is home to the Black Hawk Statue, by artist Lorado Taft. Lowden State Park was closed to the public due to budget cuts from November 30, 2008, until February 26, 2009.

The Eagle's Nest Art Colony, the site known in more modern times as the Lorado Taft Field Campus, was founded in 1898 by American sculptor Lorado Taft on the bluffs flanking the east bank of the Rock River, overlooking Oregon, Illinois. The colony was populated by Chicago artists, all members of the Chicago Art Institute or the University of Chicago art department, who gathered in Ogle County to escape the summer heat of Chicago. The colony complex has been used as a field campus for Northern Illinois University since 66 acres (27 ha) of Lowden State Park were turned over to the university by the state of Illinois.

Ogle County is a county in the northern part of the U.S. state of Illinois. According to the 2020 United States Census, it had a population of 51,788. Its county seat is Oregon, and its largest city is Rochelle. Ogle County comprises Rochelle, IL Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Rockford-Freeport-Rochelle, IL Combined Statistical Area.

The Pinehill Inn, or just Pinehill, is a National Register of Historic Places listed house in the Ogle County, Illinois county seat of Oregon. Pinehill joined the Register in July 1978.

The Oregon Coliseum is an art deco facility in the Ogle County, Illinois county seat of Oregon. It stands on the edge of the Oregon Commercial Historic District as a contributing structure to the overall integrity of the historic district. The coliseum was constructed in 1922 by the City of Oregon as city leaders sought to increase entertainment offerings in the city.

The Schiller Piano Company was an American manufacturer of pianos in Oregon, Illinois. It operated independently from 1890 to 1936, when it merged with the Cable Company and thereafter produced pianos under the name Cable and Conover. Thousands of pianos were produced in its factory, which was operated by corporate successors until 1971. The 120,000-square-foot (11,000 m2), stucco-clad building was renovated for use as an indoor mall in 1975 and today operates as the Conover Square Mall. The factory and its iron water tower base are contributing properties to the Oregon Commercial Historic District, listed since 2006 on the United States' National Register of Historic Places.

The T. Goings Building is a late 19th-century commercial building within the boundaries of the Oregon Commercial Historic District in Oregon, Illinois, U.S.A. The building is listed as a contributing structure to the overall integrity of the historic district, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. The building, found on Oregon's North Fourth Street, is an 1895 example of commercial Italianate style, albeit more muted than the other Italianate buildings in the district.

The Oregon State Savings Bank Building is an historic building in the Ogle County, Illinois city of Oregon. Its location is within the boundaries of the Oregon Commercial Historic District. The historic district was designated and added to the National Register of Historic Places in August 2006.

The historic Rock River Hotel, later the Blackhawk Hotel and currently known as the Patchwork Inn bed and breakfast, is a two-story I-house brick building in the Ogle County, Illinois city of Oregon. The Hotel is within the Oregon Commercial Historic District. The district and its contributing properties were added to the National Register of Historic Places in August 2006. Today it operates as a bed and breakfast but in its earliest years it was a private residence, by 1899 it had been converted for use as a hotel.

The Unity Building, in Oregon, Illinois, is a historic building in that city's Oregon Commercial Historic District. As part of the district the Oregon Unity Building has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places, along with the rest of the district, since August 2006.

The Jacobs Block, also known as the National Clothing House, is an 1870s historic building encompassing addresses in the 400 Block of Washington Street and the 100 Block of North Fourth Street in Oregon, Illinois. The Jacobs Block is part of Ogle County's only nationally designated historic district. The area, known as the Oregon Commercial Historic District, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in August 2006. The building, listed as a contributing structure to the historic district, is the Oregon Historic District's largest.
