USS Mary Alice (SP-397) was a United States Navy patrol vessel commissioned in 1917 and sunk in 1918. Mary Alice was built as the fast, private steam yacht Bernice in 1897 in Brooklyn, New York. She was renamed Oneta in 1907 and Mary Alice in 1910. On 10 August 1917, the U.S. Navy purchased Mary Alice from William J. Conners of Buffalo, New York, for use as a section patrol vessel during World War I. She was commissioned as USS Mary Alice (SP-397) the same day with Lieutenant, junior grade, Grant Campbell, USNRF, in command. As a unit of the Naval Coast Defense Reserve, Mary Alice was assigned to the 3rd Naval District. She patrolled Long Island Sound and the approaches to New York Harbor. In early October 1918, Mary Alice, with Captain William A. Gill, President of the U.S. Navy's Board of Inspection and Survey, embarked, served as an escort for the new submarine USS O-13 (Submarine No. 74) in Long Island Sound during O-13's pre-commissioning acceptance trials. On 5 October 1918 while conducting a submerged circular run off Bridgeport, Connecticut, O-13 suddenly rammed Mary Alice amidships and holed her. Mary Alice sank within a few minutes 1,800 yards (1,646 meters) south of Penfield Reef Light with no loss of life, and O‑13 quickly rescued her entire crew from the water.

Established in 2007 by the 103-year-old Fairfield Historical Society, the Fairfield Museum’s vision is to use history to strengthen community and to shape its future. The 13,000 square-foot museum features exhibition galleries, a special collection research library and reading room, a family education center, an 80-seat theater overlooking Fairfield’s Town Green and a museum shop. Art and history exhibitions have included the inaugural exhibit Landscape of Change, It’s a Hit! A Hometown View of Our National Pastime, Bravo! A Century of Theatre in Fairfield County, Exploring Our Cultural Heritage, the annual IMAGES juried photography exhibition and Creating Community: Exploring 375 Years of Our Past. Programs and activities for families and youth include the Holiday Express Train Show, Family Days, Scavenger Hunts, Vacation Camps, the Halloween Spooky Stroll and walking tours exploring the Town Green campus. The Meeting Hall overlooking the Town Green hosts lectures, panels and shared discussions led by scholars, university professors and historians that illuminate history through dialogue and debate with the larger community. The Special Collections Library and Reading Room includes genealogy and family papers that date back to 1639. The Museum Shop features a selection of Fairfield gifts and books.

The Pine Creek Park Bridge, also known as the Mill Hill Road Bridge, is a Pratt pony truss bridge in Fairfield, Connecticut. Built in 1872, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. It is 54 feet (16 m) in length, and is located in conservation land on Pine Creek, having been moved there in 1979 from its original location on Mill Hill Road. It is significant as a rare example of an early iron bridge, from an era when bridge designs were changing and unsettled. It was produced by the Keystone Bridge Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and is one of few surviving ones made by its engineer J. H. Linville.

The Fairfield Historic District encompasses the historic town center of Fairfield, Connecticut, roughly along Old Post Road between U.S. Route 1 and Turney Road. The area contains Fairfield's town hall, public library, and houses dating from the late 18th century, and includes portions of the town's earliest colonial settlement area. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

Fayerweather Island is a 7+1⁄2-acre land mass in Long Island Sound. Part of the city of Bridgeport, Connecticut, it is located south of the city's Seaside Park. The island contains a resurgent coastal forest composed primarily of white oak (Quercus alba) and Eastern red cedar (Juniperus virginiana) growth. It is home to the Black Rock Harbor Light, built in 1823, at the mouth of Black Rock Harbor.

Sacred Heart University Community Theatre (2020–present), located on Fairfield's main street, 1424 Post Road. is a university-run multi-disciplinary Theatre in Fairfield, Connecticut. It was formerly known as the Community Film Institute (2009–2011) and also as Fairfield Community Theatre Foundation (2001–2009). In 2019, Kleban Properties bought the long-vacant theater and leased the space to Sacred Heart University.

Cinefest Fairfield is an annual film festival since 2005 featuring short films by students, alumni and faculty of Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut held in association with the Fairfield Community Theatre. The festival is sponsored by the Department of Visual and Performing Arts and showcases its innovative New Media Program.

Sacred Heart University Community Theatre (2020–present) is a University-run Community Theatre in Fairfield, Connecticut. It was formerly known as the Community Film Institute (2009–2011) and also as Fairfield Community Theatre Foundation (2001–2009). In 2019, Kleban Properties bought the long-vacant theater and leased the space to Sacred Heart University, which turned it into an independent, nonprofit venue for cinema, performance and education [4]. The Theatre officially re-opened December 23, 2020. In addition to the restored marquee, upgrades to the property have included a larger stage, a balcony with a skybox, a renovated front office and new digital technology, according to theatre Director Bill Harris [5]. The theater is located on Fairfield's main street, 1424 Post Road.

Fairfield station is a commuter rail station on the Metro-North Railroad New Haven Line, located in Fairfield, Connecticut. The former station buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Fairfield Railroad Stations.
