Sacred Heart University Community Theatre (2020–present), located on Fairfield's main street, 1424 Post Road. is a university-run multi-disciplinary Theatre in Fairfield, Connecticut. It was formerly known as the Community Film Institute (2009–2011) and also as Fairfield Community Theatre Foundation (2001–2009). In 2019, Kleban Properties bought the long-vacant theater and leased the space to Sacred Heart University.

The Theatre officially re-opened December 23, 2020. In addition to the restored marquee, upgrades to the property have included a larger stage, a balcony with a skybox, a renovated front office and new digital technology, according to theatre Director Bill Harris [5]. The theater is located on Fairfield's main street, 1424 Post Road.

Fairfield station is a commuter rail station on the Metro-North Railroad New Haven Line, located in Fairfield, Connecticut. The former station buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Fairfield Railroad Stations.

The Connecticut Audubon Society Birdcraft Museum and Sanctuary, also known as Birdcraft Museum & Sanctuary or simply Birdcraft Sanctuary, in Fairfield, Connecticut is the oldest private songbird sanctuary in the United States. It was established in 1914 by Mabel Osgood Wright.The 6-acre (2.4 ha) site was originally planted as a refuge to attract, harbor and feed migratory and resident birds. The Connecticut Audubon Society has documented sightings of more than 120 species of birds at this site, and the organization has operated a bird banding station here since 1979. The natural history museum contains mounted preserved animals displayed in dioramas depicting Connecticut's wildlife as it existed at the end of the 20th century, as well as the Frederick T. Bedford Collection of African Animals.Structures at the sanctuary include a frame bungalow and a museum building, the former built as a caretaker's residence. Significant man-made or man-sculpted features of the sanctuary include a pond, gardens, and meadows, as well as a chimney constructed as a nesting spot for chimney swifts. Most of these structures were built in 1914, although the museum and bungalow have both been enlarged (substantially in the case of the museum) since then.The Birdcraft Museum and Sanctuary was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, and was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1993. Its establishment marked the revival of a bird conservation movement which had begun in the 1880s but languished and declined since then.The property is one of five nature centers and 19 wildlife sanctuaries operated by Connecticut Audubon, which is not affiliated with the National Audubon Society.

The Connecticut Audubon Society, founded in 1898 and headquartered in Fairfield, Connecticut, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to "conserving Connecticut’s environment through science-based education and advocacy focused on the state’s bird populations and habitats." Connecticut Audubon Society is independent of the National Audubon Society (NAS), just as in the neighboring state of Massachusetts, where Massachusetts Audubon Society is independent of the NAS. The Society operates nature education facilities in Fairfield, Milford, Glastonbury, Pomfret, Old Lyme, and Sherman, and manages an additional 20 wildlife sanctuaries around the state, protecting over 3,200 acres of open space. The Society uses science and advocacy to help protect the state's birds and their environment. The organization's Environmental Advocacy program is operated in Hartford, the state's capitol. The Society's scientists, citizen scientists, and volunteers monitor birds and their habitats around the state. Each year the Society publishes a report, titled Connecticut State of the Birds, that discusses the impact of habitat loss and other issues on local bird populations.The Society also operates an EcoTravel office in Essex, Connecticut for bird watching trips around the state and the world.

St. Thomas Aquinas is a Roman Catholic church in Fairfield, Connecticut, in the Diocese of Bridgeport. The present Colonial-style church was designed by Polak and Sullivan of New Haven, CT.

The Fairfield Historic District encompasses the historic town center of Fairfield, Connecticut, roughly along Old Post Road between U.S. Route 1 and Turney Road. The area contains Fairfield's town hall, public library, and houses dating from the late 18th century, and includes portions of the town's earliest colonial settlement area. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

Fairfield Museum and History Center is a museum and library located at 370 Beach Road in Fairfield, Connecticut. Established in 2007 by the 103-year-old Fairfield Historical Society, the Fairfield Museum’s vision is to use history to strengthen community and to shape its future. The 13,000 square-foot museum features exhibition galleries, a special collection research library and reading room, a family education center, an 80-seat theater overlooking Fairfield’s Town Green and a museum shop. Art and history exhibitions have included the inaugural exhibit Landscape of Change, It’s a Hit! A Hometown View of Our National Pastime, Bravo! A Century of Theatre in Fairfield County, Exploring Our Cultural Heritage, the annual IMAGES juried photography exhibition and Creating Community: Exploring 375 Years of Our Past. Programs and activities for families and youth include the Holiday Express Train Show, Family Days, Scavenger Hunts, Vacation Camps, the Halloween Spooky Stroll and walking tours exploring the Town Green campus. The Meeting Hall overlooking the Town Green hosts lectures, panels and shared discussions led by scholars, university professors and historians that illuminate history through dialogue and debate with the larger community. The Special Collections Library and Reading Room includes genealogy and family papers that date back to 1639. The Museum Shop features a selection of Fairfield gifts and books.

Fairfield Ludlowe High School (FLHS) is a co-educational secondary school located in Fairfield, Connecticut, United States. Before Roger Ludlowe Middle School opened up on campus in 1998, Fairfield Ludlowe High School served as the middle school when the middle school students went to Fairfield Warde High School. FLHS was reopened as a high school in fall 2003 because of overcrowding at Fairfield's one existing high school, now called Fairfield Warde High School. The school was originally opened as "Fairfield High School at the Ludlowe Site," as a satellite campus of Fairfield High School housing 9th and 10th grades. In Fall 2003, The Board of Education decided that it would be called Fairfield High School South, while the existing high school would be called Fairfield High School East. The board, under the direction of president Grace Easterby, claimed that they voted for these names to minimize rivalry between the schools. Several months later, after much persuasion, the board voted to change the name of the two schools to Fairfield Ludlowe and Fairfield Warde, keeping the names from before the 1987 consolidation but also maintaining the reputation of the Fairfield name.

St. Anthony of Padua Parish is a parish of the Roman Catholic Church in Fairfield, Connecticut, United States, in the Diocese of Bridgeport. The parish was established in 1927 as a national parish for Polish immigrants, one of a number of Polish-American Roman Catholic parishes in New England, and staffed by Conventual Franciscans. It was one of several ethnic congregations in Fairfield, others including St. Emery's, serving the Hungarian populace, and Holy Cross, the only Slovene church in New England.A new parish church designed by Anthony J. DePace of New York was built in 1970, but as demographics shifted, the parish lost parishioners as well as much of its Polish identity; its parochial school closed in 1973.Fr. John Baran arrived as pastor in 2002 from crosstown Our Lady of the Assumption Church. He ended a number of traditionalist practices and services, and set about improving the parish's outreach and community activity. As an homage to the Polish heritage, however, the parish picnic, held annually since 1978, does feature traditional Polish foods such as pierogies and stuffed cabbage.In December 2018, Bishop Frank Caggiano appointed Eleanor W. Sauers as Parish Life Coordinator, the first time a lay person had been appointed to head church administration in the diocese. Sauers had previously served as director of religious education, and had written her 2007 Ph.D. dissertation on the transformation of the parish.

The Jonathan Sturges House is a historic house at 449 Mill Plain Road in Fairfield, Connecticut. Built in 1840 to a design by Joseph Collins Wells, it is one of the oldest-known and best-documented examples of architect-designed Gothic Revival architecture. The house was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1994 for its architectural significance. It was designed and built for Jonathan Sturges (1802–74), a New York City businessman and patron of the arts, in whose family the property remains.

Mill Plain is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. It is in the southern part of the town, directly north of the downtown area of Fairfield and northeast of Southport. It is bordered to the west by the Mill River, to the south by Interstate 95, to the east by Mill Plain Road, and to the north by Duck Farm Road. Mill Plain was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.
