Dhaka South City Corporation

Dhaka Nagar Bhaban, completed 1995, is a building that houses the government of the city of Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is home to the mayor's office and the meeting chambers and offices of the Dhaka City Corporation. The building is situated behind the Dhaka University campus.

Dhaka City Museum is a local museum, situated in Nagar Bhaban, Dhaka. This museum was established in 1987 to present the history of Dhaka city to the public, which later became government ownership in 1996.

Gulistan is a very busy street in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It means 'Flower Garden' in Persian, which lead to the speculation that in medieval times there might be prominent flower gardens. Several important streets are connected to Gulistan which makes it busy and crowded. The street is full of roadside shops. Thousands of people visit this place for their daily needs. The road is always occupied with traffic and passersby. One of the oldest transports of Dhaka City ‘Tom Tom’ can be seen in this street. There is a shrine right at the middle of the road. It is called “Golap Shah’s Shrine”. Thousands of people show their devotion to this shrine everyday and make donations so that their desire can be fulfilled.There is one major bus stand situated in Gulistan, called the Gulistan (Fulbaria) Bus Station. Most of the buses here are public and the number of buses is very few according to the number of passengers. People often get on top of the bus as there are no longer spaces inside the bus. Some people can be seen hanging at the doorways. Banga (or Bango) Bazar is the prime shopping place here. New and fashionable clothes can be found here with reasonable price. There are hundreds of shops inside the place. The narrow pathways make it hard to roam inside the vicinity. The place is so congested and hot that it is hard to stay long time inside the complex. There used to be a Cinema complex (‘Gulistan Cinema Hall’) here which was one of the oldest architectural monuments. Even though the design was not eye catching and the structure was bizarre, it was one of the modern buildings in Dhaka city.The 11-km-long Gulistan–Jatrabari Flyover was opened in October 2013 to ease traffic jams and reduce travel time from the usual one hour to just five minutes. Osmani Uddyan park, Dhaka South City Corporation, Dhaka GPO, Bangabandhu National Stadium, Baitul Mukarram and many other important infrastructures are very close to this street.

Fulbaria Railway Station is a defunct railway station in Bangladesh which was located in Dhaka. It was the central railway station of Bangladesh (then East Pakistan) before Kamalapur railway station came into operation. The station was closed when trains started running at the new station from 1 May 1968.

Shrine of Gulab Shah is an Islamic shrine situated at Shahid Nazrul Islam Avenue, Gulistan, Dhaka. It is under the management of Dhaka South City Corporation. The shrine has two tombs which is accessible from the north. The tombs are said to be Gulab Shah and his brother's graves. It's former name is "Neemgachwala Mazar". The shrine had a temporary mosque which was moved near the Osmani Park in the 1980s. Its origin is unknown. according to legends, the shrine has the tomb of Gulab Shah was a spiritual leader came to British India from Yemen or Iraq in 19th century. However, the historians says that the there was a grave of unknown people and later people started to visit it believing that it was belongs to a spiritual leader. A person named Gulab Shah used to looked after the grave and after his death he was buried beside the grave. Later people started to call it as the shrine of Gulab Shah. The shrine is popular to newlyweds who believes that visiting the shrine would bring positivity to their life. Mehfil is held annually here in Sha'ban 19. In 2013, Dhaka South City Corporation started to extend the shrine which resulted negative reactions as the shrine's background is unknown and questionable. As of 2023, it gets around ৳0.9 million every month from followers of Gulab Shah. It is alleged that local political leaders get money from donations collected at the shrine.

On the morning of April 4, 2023, a massive fire erupted in the clothing market of Bangabazar, located in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. This fire resulted in the utter devastation of the market, leaving thousands of stores destroyed and numerous structures damaged.

On 7 March 2023, an explosion happened in a market in Dhaka, Bangladesh killing at least 17 people while more than 140 were injured. The explosion took place at around 5:00 p.m local time in a busy market building in Siddiq Bazaar in Old Dhaka.

Gulistan underpass (Bengali: গুলিস্তান আন্ডারপাস) is a pedestrian underpass in Dhaka. It is currently the second largest underpass in Bangladesh after the launch of Sursoptok underpass. Located in Gulistan, this underpass has been serving the people since 1997. Completed at Taka 34.3 million, this underpass has a market for selling products.A variety of electronic products are sold in this underground market with 104 shops. Due to various problems of the underpass, People are not seen using this underpass too much. This underpass has access to multiple entry and exitways. It closes at eight o'clock at night.

Government Employees Hospital is being established in eight divisions of Bangladesh with the aim of providing improved healthcare services to all government officers and employees. These hospitals are being set up under the initiative of the Government of Bangladesh and will be operated under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Administration. Through these hospitals, all government employees of Bangladesh will receive medical services. Each of these hospitals will be named as a Divisional Government Employees Hospital. For the management of all Government Employees Hospitals in Bangladesh, a Director General (DG) and an Additional Director General (ADG) will be appointed.

Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium is a field hockey stadium located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is the first hockey stadium in Bangladesh and also the headquarters of Bangladesh Hockey Federation.
