Yutz

The canton of Yutz is an administrative division of the Moselle department, northeastern France. Its borders were modified at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Yutz.It consists of the following communes:

The siege of Thionville was a battle of the Franco-Prussian War which occurred in Thionville of the Moselle from November 13 to November 24, 1870. The small French garrison repulsed an attempted attack on August 14. It was subjected to a blockade and then besieged from November 13. After the capitulation of Metz, on October 28, 1870, the Prussians move part of their powerful artillery to Thionville. Bombed from November 22, the square surrendered on November 24. The capture of Thionville and that of Montmédy a month later gave the Germans control of the railroad to the Picardy front.

It is located in the Moselle department, in the Grand Est region, northeastern France. Created in 2004, its seat is in Thionville. Its area is 156.5 km2. Its population was 80,927 in 2019, of which 40,778 in Thionville proper.

The Château de La Grange is an historic château in Manom, Moselle, France. It was built in the 17th century. It belonged to Jean de Bertier de Sauvigny after World War I. It has been listed as an official historical monument since February 28, 1984.

The Canal des mines de fer de la Moselle (English: Canal of the Iron Mines of Moselle) is a canal in north eastern France linking Metz and Thionville. It is a canalized section of the river Moselle. The canal may also be called CAMIFEMO as concocted from the name of the canal in the following way: CAnal des MInes de FEr de la MOselle (CAMIFEMO).

The Fensch (French pronunciation: ​[fɛnʃ]) or Fentsch is a river in the Moselle department of the Grand Est region of France. It is a left tributary of the Moselle, and thus a sub-tributary of the Rhine.
