Swisher Gymnasium

The Jacksonville College of Music was a private post-secondary music school in Jacksonville, Florida. Founded in 1923 by George Orner, Lyman P. Prior and William Meyer, it became accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music in 1931 or 1937. Its main campus was in downtown Jacksonville on Herschel Street. The school merged with Jacksonville University on June 1, 1958, to become the College of Music of Jacksonville University.

Jacksonville University (JU) is a private university in Jacksonville, Florida. Located in the city's Arlington district, the school was founded in 1934 as a two-year college and was known as Jacksonville Junior College until September 5, 1956, when it shifted focus to building four-year university degree programs and later graduated its first four-year degree candidates as Jacksonville University in June 1959. It is a member of the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). JU's student body currently represents more than 40 U.S. states and approximately 45 countries around the world. As a Division I institution, it fields 18 varsity athletics teams, known as the JU Dolphins, as well as intramural sports and clubs. Among the top majors declared by JU students are aviation management, biology, nursing, business, and marine science.

John Sessions Stadium is a baseball venue located on the campus of Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida, United States. It is home to the Jacksonville Dolphins baseball team, a member of the Division I Atlantic Sun Conference. The stadium has a capacity of 1,500 people. It is named after the late John F. Sessions, a benefactor of the university.In 2008, a new scoreboard, entrance, and backstop were added to the field.

D. B. Milne Field is a multi-purpose stadium on the campus of Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida. It was home to the Jacksonville Dolphins college football team. The facility has a seating capacity of 5,000 and opened in 1998.

Southern Oak Stadium is home to the Jacksonville Dolphins Soccer team. The stadium was, also, home to the 2015 Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Lacrosse Championship. Jacksonville Armada FC have also played some home games at Southern Oak Stadium.

Arlington Country Day School (ACDS) was a private school in Jacksonville, Florida. A non-sectarian coeducational school, it offered a K-12 education and enrolled over 400 students a year. It was notable for its successful boys' basketball program. On January 26, 2018, the school closed its doors without warning and informed parents Saturday January 27, 2018, that it shut down.

Norman Studios, also known as Norman Film Manufacturing Company is a former American film studio in Jacksonville, Florida. Founded by Richard Edward Norman, the studio produced silent films featuring African-American casts from 1919 to 1928. The only surviving studio from the period of early filmmaking in Jacksonville, its facilities are now the Norman Studios Silent Film Museum. One of the most prominent studios creating films for black audiences in the silent era, Norman's films featured all-black casts with protagonists in positive roles. During its run it produced eight feature length films and numerous shorts; its only surviving film, The Flying Ace, has been restored by the Library of Congress. The studio transitioned to distribution and promotion after the rise of talking pictures made its technology obsolete, and eventually closed. In the 21st century, the studio's facilities were restored and re-purposed as a museum. On October 31, 2016, the location was designated a National Historic Landmark.

The Jacksonville Port Terminal Railroad (reporting mark JXPT) is a short line terminal railroad run by Watco. It serves the Jacksonville Port Authority and tenants with over ten miles of track. It has only one main line, running west from the Tallyrand Marine Terminal on the St Johns River to an interchange with CSX and Norfolk Southern northeast of downtown Jacksonville, Florida. Formerly known as the Talleyrand Terminal Railroad. Operations began on July 28, 1996, under that name. On March 8, 2017, Watco bought the railroad and renamed it the Jacksonville Port Terminal Railroad.

Jones College was a private college in Jacksonville, Florida. Founded in 1918, the college was non-profit and had an undergraduate body of roughly 350 students. It offered courses in business, education, management, medical assistant training, computer science and general studies. The school was not regionally accredited, although it was nationally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). On December 12, 2016, John King Jr., the United States Secretary of Education, finalized the process of revoking the U.S. Department of Education's recognition of ACICS as an accreditor. Subsequently, Jones College announced it would close on December 31, 2017. Its last classes were held in August 2017.

The Mathews Bridge is a cantilever bridge in Jacksonville, Florida, which spans the St. Johns River. Constructed in 1953, the bridge brings traffic along the Arlington Expressway between downtown Jacksonville and the Arlington neighborhood. It was named after John E. Mathews, a Florida state legislator and Chief Justice of the 1955 Florida Supreme Court who helped gather funding for the bridge's construction. Originally silver in color, the bridge was painted maroon in 1984 in celebration of Jacksonville's United States Football League franchise, the Jacksonville Bulls.

The John S. Sammis House (also known as the Arlington Bluff House) is a historic home in Jacksonville, Florida. It is located at 207 Noble Circle West. On July 10, 1979, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Tree Hill Nature Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and wilderness preserve in Jacksonville, Florida, organized for the purpose of providing an educational experience for visitors to appreciate and learn about the natural environment in Jacksonville. The land was acquired to preserve and protect an urban wilderness area containing sensitive plants and animals from surrounding development. The city park opened in 1971.The organization has participated in efforts that preserved other land and created other parks in Jacksonville.
