Valiabad, Rey

Dowlatabad-e Qeysariyeh (Persian: دولت آبادقيصريه, also Romanized as Dowlatābād-e Qeyşarīyeh) is a village in Azimiyeh Rural District, in the Central District of Ray County, Tehran Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 920, in 230 families.

Fathabad (Persian: فتح ا باد, also Romanized as Fatḩābād) is a village in Azimiyeh Rural District, in the Central District of Ray County, Tehran Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 404, in 111 families.

Emad Avar (Persian: عمادآور, also Romanized as ‘Emād Āvar; also known as ‘Emād Āvard, Emād Āvard, and Aḩmad-e Vard) is a village in Azimiyeh Rural District, in the Central District of Ray County, Tehran Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 842, in 220 families.

This Battle of Rayy (one among many) was fought on May 1, 811 AD as part of an Abbasid civil war (the "Fourth Fitna") between the two half-brothers, al-Amin and al-Ma'mun.

Sohrevardi is a neighbourhood of Tehran, Iran. It is named after Shahab al-Din Suhrawardi, an Iranian philosopher, and it starts from Seyed khandan bridge to Bahar shiraz Street.

The mausoleum of Reza Shah (Persian: آرامگاه‌ رضاشاه), located in Ray south of Tehran, was the burial ground of Reza Shah Pahlavi (1878–1944), the penultimate Shahanshah (Emperor) of Iran. It was built close to Shah-Abdol-Azim shrine. In addition to Reza Shah, his son, Prince Ali Reza, was also buried here. The prince who was Mohammad Reza Shah's only full brother, was a pilot and crashed in the Alborz Mountains on October 17, 1954. When the mausoleum was destroyed, no one found the prince's body. In the early days of the Iranian Revolution in April 1980, Reza Shah's mausoleum was destroyed under the direction of Ayatollah Sadegh Khalkhali by Revolutionary Guards; In his memoirs, Khalkhali describes how difficult it was to destroy the building due to its solid structure. Revolutionaries were unable to find Reza Shah's dead body and suggested that Mohammad Reza Shah had taken it with him while leaving Iran, a claim which was denied by Shahbanu (Empress) Farah Pahlavi in an interview. On April 23, 2018, a mummified body, possibly that of Reza Shah, was found during expansion work at Shah Abdol-Azim Shrine at the site of the former mausoleum.

The Shāh Abdol-Azīm Shrine (Persian: شاه عبدالعظیم), also known as Shabdolazim, located in Rey, Iran, contains the tomb of ‘Abdul ‘Adhīm ibn ‘Abdillāh al-Hasanī (aka Shah Abdol Azim). Shah Abdol Azim was a fifth generation descendant of Hasan ibn ‘Alī and a companion of Muhammad al-Taqī. He was entombed here after his death in the 9th century. Adjacent to the shrine, within the complex, include the mausolea of Imamzadeh Tahir (son of the fourth Shia Imam Sajjad) and Imamzadeh Hamzeh (brother of the eighth Twelver Imām - Imām Reza).

Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Ziaabadi (1928 - 8 February 2021) (Persian: سید محمد ضیاءآبادی) was an Iranian Mujtahid that was based in the Tehran Islamic Seminary. He specialised in Islamic ethics and interpretation of the Quran.

Azimiyeh Rural District (Persian: دهستان عظيميه) is in the Central District of Ray County, Tehran province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Eslamabad.At the National Census of 2006, its population was 65,133 in 16,201 households. There were 61,810 inhabitants in 17,325 households at the following census of 2011. At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 55,564 in 16,505 households. The largest of its 13 villages was Alayin, with 21,594 people.
