Eslamabad, Azimiyeh

Ghaniabad (Persian: غني اباد, also Romanized as Ghanīābād; also known as Ghanīābād-e Pā’īn and Khānīābād) is a village in, and the capital of, Ghaniabad Rural District of the Central District of Ray County, Tehran province, Iran.At the 2006 National Census, its population was 1,754 in 441 households. The following census in 2011 counted 1,558 people in 418 households. The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,880 people in 551 households.

Zamanabad (Persian: زمان آباد, also Romanized as Zamānābād) is a village in Qaleh Now Rural District, Qaleh Now District, Ray County, Tehran Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 2,343, in 584 families.

Ghaniabad Rural District (Persian: دهستان غني آباد) is in the Central District of Ray County, Tehran province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Ghaniabad.At the National Census of 2006, its population was 67,933 in 16,890 households. There were 31,196 inhabitants in 8,744 households at the following census of 2011. At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 29,013 in 8,559 households. The largest of its seven villages was Khavar Shahr, with 13,203 people.

Khavar Shahr (Persian: خاورشهر, also Romanized as Khāvar Shahr; also known as Shahrak-e Khāvar Shahr) is a village in Ghaniabad Rural District of the Central District of Ray County, Tehran province, Iran. At the 2006 National Census, its population was 16,171 in 4,342 households. The following census in 2011 counted 15,148 people in 4,484 households. The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 13,203 people in 4,002 households; it was the largest village in its rural district.

Firuzabad (Persian: فيروزاباد, also Romanized as Fīrūzābād) is a village in Chaleh Tarkhan Rural District of Qaleh Now District of Ray County, Tehran province, Iran. At the 2006 National Census, its population was 8,579 in 2,106 households, when it was in Qaleh Now Rural District of Kahrizak District. The following census in 2011 counted 8,699 people in 2,416 households. The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 8,756 people in 2,510 households, by which time the rural district had been separated from the district in the establishment of Qaleh Now District. It was the largest village in its rural district.

The Central District of Ray County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان ری) is in Tehran province, Iran.At the National Census in 2006, its population was 133,066 in 33,091 households. The following census in 2011 counted 93,006 people in 26,069 households. At the latest census in 2016, the district had 84,577 inhabitants in 25,064 households.

Khavaran cemetery (Persian: گورستان خاوران) is an irregular unmarked cemetery located in southeast Tehran. The graves in the cemetery do not have any marking on them. The Islamic Republic of Iran does not allow the families of the dead to mourn in the cemetery and the identity of those who were buried in the cemetery is unknown to their relatives. Khavaran initially was a traditional burial ground for religious minorities, "on the grounds that they were apostates and must not contaminate the resting place of Muslims." During the 1988 executions of Iranian political prisoners committed by the Islamic Republic of Iran, the government used Khavaran as the site of unmarked mass graves for those killed. The portion of the cemetery in which the political prisoners are buried is colloquially known as lanatabad (لعنت‌آباد), place of the damned.Abdolmalek Rigi (1979-2010), leader of the Jundallah, was buried there following his arrest in 2010.In 2009, the Defenders of Human Rights Center and dissident cleric Grand Ayatollah Hussein-Ali Montazeri condemned demolition allegedly occurring at Khavaran cemetery by the Iranian authorities.

Khavaran-e Gharbi Rural District (Persian: دهستان خاوران غربی) is in Khavaran District of Ray County, Tehran province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Qasemabad-e Tehranchi.After the 2006 National Census, villages were separated from the Central District in the establishment of Khavaran District, which was divided into two rural districts.At the census of 2011, there were 7,409 inhabitants in 1,954 households. At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 7,419 in 2,103 households. The largest of its five villages was Qasemabad-e Tehranchi, with 2,645 people.

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 3,435 in 834 households, when it was in Ghaniabad Rural District in the Central District of Ray County. The following census in 2011 counted 3,121 people in 879 households, by which time most of Siyahrud Rural District had transferred to the newly established Pardis County. The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 2,265 people in 722 households; it was the largest village in its rural district.

Alayin (Persian: علائين, also Romanized as ʿAlāyīn) is a village in Azimiyeh Rural District of the Central District of Ray County, Tehran province, Iran. At the 2006 National Census, its population was 24,179 in 6,221 households. The following census in 2011 counted 24,808 people in 7,235 households. The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 21,594 people in 6,579 households; it was the largest village in its rural district.
