The Tallinn offensive (Russian: Таллинская наступательная операция) was a strategic offensive by the Red Army's 2nd Shock and 8th armies and the Baltic Fleet against the German Army Detachment Narwa and Estonian units in mainland Estonia on the Eastern Front of World War II on 17–26 September 1944. Its German counterpart was the abandonment of the Estonian territory in a retreat codenamed Operation Aster (German: Unternehmen Aster). The Soviet offensive commenced with the Soviet 2nd Shock Army breaching the defence of the II Army Corps along the Emajõgi River in the vicinity of Tartu. The defenders managed to slow the Soviet advance sufficiently for Army Detachment Narwa to be evacuated from mainland Estonia in an orderly fashion. On 18 September, the constitutional Government of Estonia captured the government buildings in Tallinn from the Germans and the city was abandoned by the German forces by 22 September. The Leningrad Front seized the capital and took the rest of mainland Estonia by 26 September 1944.

Villa Jacoby is a 1920s home in Estonian architecture. It is known for baroque-style windows and influences of expressionism and Estonian traditional architecture (gable roof). The house is located on Wismari street 11, which is the beginning of the Old Town of Tallinn.The home was built in 1924 by the well-known Baltic-German architect Erich Roman Ludvig Jacoby. Jacoby designed the home as his personal residence. The building's initial project was completed in 1923; the final project and building were finished in 1924. The architectural solution follows the conservatism of the 1920s which was greatly influenced by 17th and 18th century Baroque styles. The architecture has several references to the Old Town of Tallinn including white-washed roof ridges and Baroque door hinges. Initially, a late medieval lintel stone internal portal had been walled to the pergola internal wall with the owner's family signs and the year 1596. That stone has since been moved to Tallinn City Museum.During the Soviet Period, the building was used as communal style shared living quarters. From 2000 to 2011 the building was used as the office of the Estonian political party Patriotic League Isamaalitt. The building is registered as Building monument no. 8558.

Wismari Stadium is a football stadium in Tallinn, Estonia. Opened in 1916, it is the oldest existing football field in Tallinn. It currently serves as a training ground for TJK Legion. Wismari was the historic home ground of the nine-time Estonian champion Tallinna Sport during the first period of independence in Estonia.The address of the stadium is Wismari 15a. The name of the Wismari street and stadium comes from the fortification that was located in the area at the end of the 17th century - the Wismari Ravelin.

Tallinn European School (Estonian: Tallinna Euroopa Kool), or TES, is a private, Accredited European School in Tallinn, Estonia. Founded in 2013, it is an all-through school which offers a multicultural and multilingual education leading to the European Baccalaureate as its secondary leaving qualification. Pikk Hermann or Tall Hermann (German: Langer Hermann) is a tower of the Toompea Castle, on Toompea hill in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. The first part was built 1360–70. It was rebuilt (height brought to 45.6 metres (150 ft)) in the 16th century. A staircase with 215 steps leads to the top of the tower. The tower consists of ten internal floors and a viewing platform at the top. Pikk Hermann tower is situated next to the Estonian Parliament building and the flag on the top of the tower at 95 metres (312 ft) above sea level is one of the symbols of the government in force. The national flag, measuring 191 centimetres (75 in) by 300 centimetres (120 in), is raised and the national anthem is played at the time of sunrise (but not earlier than 7 am) and lowered at the time of sunset (but not later than 10 pm). While it is lowered, the song "Mu isamaa on minu arm" (My Fatherland is My Love) is heard. For the first time, the flag was raised to the top of Pikk Hermann at three o'clock in the afternoon of December 12, 1918 after the independence of Estonia. The Soviet troops who later occupied Estonia lowered the flag from the tower in the summer of 1940 and later replaced it with the flag of the Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic. The original flag was raised back on the tower on February 24, 1989.

Lindamägi is a park in Tallinn, Estonia.The park is located on the Swedish Bastion. Swedish Bastion was built in 1690s. In 1850s, the Swedish Bastion was changed to the park.In 1920, the bronze sculpture "Linda" was erected in the park. The sculpture was made by August Weizenberg. The park is named after this sculpture.
