Au Pied de Cochon is a restaurant in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is located at 536 Duluth Street East in the borough of Le Plateau-Mont-Royal. Au Pied de Cochon also has a Sugar Shack and La Cabane d'à Côté in St-Benoît de Mirabel, which are open to normal reservations during the maple sugar season. The restaurant was founded by chef Martin Picard in 2001. In 2019, the Montreal location was named the 34th best restaurant in Canada, according to Canada's 100 Best.

Le Plateau-Mont-Royal (French pronunciation: ​[lə plato mɔ̃ ʁwajal]) is a borough (arrondissement) of the city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The Plateau-Mont-Royal takes its name from its location on a plateau, on the eastern side of Mont-Royal and overlooking downtown Montreal, across it's southern border. The borough is bordered to the south by Sherbrooke Street; to the north and north-east by the Canadian Pacific Railway tracks; and to the west by Hutchison (north of Mount Royal Avenue), Park Avenue (between Mount Royal and Pine Avenue) and University Street (south of Pine Avenue). It is the most densely populated borough in Canada, with 101,054 people living in an 8.1 square kilometre (3¼ sq. mi.) area. There is a difference between the borough, Plateau-Mont-Royal—a political division of the City of Montreal—and the neighbourhood referred to as "the Plateau". The borough includes not only the Plateau proper, but also the neighbourhoods of Mile End (bounded by Avenue du Mont-Royal to the south and the Avenue Henri-Julien to the east) and Milton Park (bounded by University, Sherbrooke, Saint-Laurent and Pine). Both neighbourhoods are generally considered distinct from the Plateau. The Plateau is famous for being a major center for the arts, with a large concentration of artists, musicians, and creative organizations. Many artistic institutions are established in the Plateau such as the National Theatre School of Canada, the Quebec Conservatory of Music in Montreal, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and many theater such as le Rideau vert, le Théâtre de Quat'Sous, La Licorne and le Théâtre d'Aujourd'hui. The Plateau has many Parcs such as Jeanne-Mance park, La Fontaine park, Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier park, Saint-Louis Square, and Gérald-Godin plaza. The Mont-Royal parc is also accessible from the Plateau-Mont-Royal. Due to its large concentration of French expatriates who arrived in the early twenty first century, the neighborhood has been named "Le Petit Paris", la Petite-France, or ironically « La Nouvelle-France ».

Mercier is a provincial electoral district in the Montreal region of Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It consists of part of the Le Plateau-Mont-Royal borough of the city of Montreal. It was created for the 1966 election from parts of Montréal-Mercier and Montréal–Saint-Louis electoral districts. In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, its territory was unchanged. In the change from the 2011 to the 2017 electoral map, the riding gained the remainder of the Mile End neighbourhood from Outremont. It was named in honour of former Quebec Premier Honoré Mercier.

The Jean-Deslauriers Theatre (French: Salle Jean-Deslauriers) is a Canadian concert auditorium located in Montreal, Quebec. Built by the Catholic School Commission of Montreal in the early 1930s, the hall was originally named Plateau Hall (French: Auditorium le Plateau). It was renamed in 1975 in honour of conductor Jean Deslauriers. The building is now known as Centre culturel Calixa-Lavallée. The Jean-Deslauriers Theatre seats 1,307 people and is located on Calixa-Lavallée St in the centre of La Fontaine Park. It was the principal performance venue of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra from its inception in 1934 through 1963, during which time the MSO gave more than 1500 performances in the hall. The hall is also the former home of the Montreal Women's Symphony Orchestra and the Montreal Youth Symphony Orchestra. Many notable musicians have performed in Plateau Hall, including Warren Zevon, Marian Anderson, Kirsten Flagstad, Walter Gieseking, Vladimir Horowitz, Raoul Jobin, Wilhelm Kempff, Mstislav Rostropovich, Erna Sack, Igor Stravinsky and New York punk band the Ramones with Iggy Pop as the opening act.Other bands that played Le Plateau in the 70's include Roxy Music, Caravan, King Crimson, Curved Air and Renaissance

Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church (French: Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Montréal) is a Roman Catholic church built in 1872 in the borough of Le Plateau Mont-Royal in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Its address is 4237 Henri-Julien Avenue (corner Rachel Street). It can accommodate 2,800 people, and is the largest church in Montreal after the Notre-Dame Basilica and Saint Joseph's Oratory.

La Fontaine Park (French: Parc La Fontaine) is a 34 ha (84 acres) urban park located in the borough of Le Plateau-Mont-Royal in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Named in honour of Louis-Hippolyte Lafontaine, The park's features include two linked ponds with a fountain and waterfalls, the Théâtre de Verdure open-air venue, the Calixa-Lavallée cultural centre, a monument to Adam Dollard des Ormeaux, playing fields and tennis courts.Its ponds are a popular attraction during Montreal's hot summers, with outdoor ice skating in winter. Bike paths run along the park’s western and northern edges. Parc Lafontaine is surrounded by Sherbrooke Street on the South, Parc-La Fontaine Avenue on the West, Rachel Street on the North, and Papineau avenue on the East.

Mont-Royal is a station on the Orange Line of the Montreal Metro rapid transit system, operated by the Société de transport de Montréal (STM). It is located in The Plateau neighbourhood of the borough of Le Plateau-Mont-Royal in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The station opened on October 14, 1966, as part of the original network of the Metro.

Pine Avenue (French: avenue des Pins) is an east–west street in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This street serves as the dividing line between the downtown Ville-Marie borough and borough of Le Plateau-Mont-Royal, and also serves as the northern border of the Golden Square Mile historic district, further west. The street borders the mountain begins at Saint Denis Street in the east, and ends at Côte-des-Neiges Road in the west. The entire length is serviced by the 144 Avenue des Pins bus. The Montreal Neurological Institute, the former Royal Victoria Hospital, Allan Memorial Institute and the Montreal General Hospital of McGill University are on Pine Avenue, as is Cormier House, the former residence of Pierre Elliott Trudeau. The former Pine-Parc Interchange at the intersection of Pine with Parc Avenue, now demolished, was the only constructed section of the proposed Autoroute 415.

Mount Royal Avenue (officially in French: avenue du Mont-Royal), once named Tannery Road (French: chemin des Tanneries), is a street in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The main part of the street transects the borough of Le Plateau-Mont-Royal, from Park Avenue at the foot of Mount Royal, for which the road is named, to Frontenac St. Another section in Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie runs from Molson St. to Pie-IX Boulevard. West of Park Avenue, the road continues into Outremont (where it becomes Mount Royal Boulevard), skirting the northern rim of the mountain until Vincent d'Indy Avenue. The western section of the avenue is the principal artery of the Plateau, forming the southern border of the Mile End neighbourhood. Notable businesses on the street include La Binerie Mont-Royal and Beauty's. The Mont-Royal metro station is located at the corner of Mount Royal Ave. and Rivard St., at Place Gérald-Godin.

Saint-Jacques was a provincial electoral district in the Montreal region of Quebec, Canada. It corresponded to part of the Le Plateau-Mont-Royal and Ville-Marie areas of Montreal. It was created for the 1966 election from parts of Montréal–Saint-Jacques, Montréal–Sainte-Marie and Montréal–Saint-Louis electoral districts. Its final election was in 1985. It disappeared in the 1989 election and its successor electoral district was Sainte-Marie–Saint-Jacques.

Mile End is a neighbourhood and municipal electoral district in the city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is part of the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough in terms of Montreal's municipal politics.
