Sheffield Interchange

Odeon Sheffield is a multiplex cinema located at Arundel Gate in Sheffield city centre, South Yorkshire, England, adjacent to the city's O2 Academy. It is operated by Odeon Cinemas and has ten screens. Screen 1 is the largest, having 252 seats, and is the only one with 3D capability. Both Screen 4 & 5 have the smallest number of seats at 113.The building itself was built in the 1970s as the Fiesta nightclub and played host to such acts as The Jackson Five, The Beach Boys and Stevie Wonder. Opening as Odeon 7 on 5 March 1992, the cinema had seven screens before it expanded into what was previously the 'Showroom' in 1994 (not to be confused with Sheffield's Showroom Cinema).Sheffield had two earlier Odeon cinemas, the 1956 Odeon on Flat Street (closed in 1971 and turned over to bingo) and the 1987 Odeon twin on Burgess Street (the parsimonious replacement for the large Gaumont) which survived only until 1994 and is now the Embrace nightclub. It is now an Odeon Luxe from December 2018.

The Sheffield College is a large general further education college in Sheffield, England. The college has six campuses across the city and has 13,500 students enrolled (including 2,501 apprentices) as of 2021. It provides academic, technical and vocational training for school leavers and adults from across the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority region.

The O2 Academy Sheffield (formerly the Carling Academy Sheffield), is a live music venue in the centre of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. It is a £3 million refurbishment of the former "Roxy Nightclub" and opened on 11 April 2008.

The Old Queen's Head is a pub at 14 Pond Hill, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. It is a 15th-century timber framed building and the oldest surviving domestic building in Sheffield. It is now Grade II* listed.

Fitzalan Square is a municipal square situated in the city centre of Sheffield in South Yorkshire, England. The present day square is one of the busiest areas of the city centre, with traffic and pedestrians continually moving through the area. It has a Sheffield Supertram stop and a taxi rank. This area of the city had been the market quarter since the medieval era and the modern square takes its name from the Fitzalan Market Hall, which stood near the site from 1786 to 1930. The Fitzalans were a lesser branch of the Howard family, Dukes of Norfolk and the major local landowners at that time. In 2017, Sheffield City Council announced plans to renovate the square.

The Diocese of Hallam is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Catholic Church in England. The diocese comprises the whole of the City of Sheffield, and the surrounding towns of Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, Chesterfield, the Peak District and areas of Worksop and Retford. It is a suffragan diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Liverpool.

Sheaf Valley Quarter is an area in the centre of Sheffield, England. It is one of Sheffield's 11 designated City Centre Quarters, situated around the rail station and River Sheaf. Its borders are Commercial Street and a bowstring bridge to the north, the railway line to the east, Granville Road to the south (excluding Granville Square, Suffolk Road, Sheaf Square and Howard Street to the south west and Arundel Gate to the west. It is named after the River Sheaf, which flows from the south of the city, underneath the current station and into the River Don and Castlegate. It is one of only 2 quarters (the other being Kelham) with some land outside the ring road.

Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) is a public research university in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The university is based on two sites; the City Campus is located in the city centre near Sheffield railway station, while the Collegiate Crescent Campus is about two miles away in the Broomhall Estate off Ecclesall Road in south-west Sheffield. A third campus at Brent Cross Town in the London Borough of Barnet is expected to open for the 2025-26 academic year. The university is the 14th largest university in the UK (out of 169) with 30,960 students (of whom 4,400 are international students), 4,494 staff and 708 courses.

2 Haymarket is a listed building in Sheffield City Centre in England. The building was constructed in 1871 to serve as Sheffield's head post office. It was originally intended also to house the local branch of the Inland Revenue, but the space was almost immediately found to be inadequate, and within a couple of months of its opening in 1872, the Revenue moved to offices on Norfolk Street.The building has two stories and an attic and is in the classical revival style, adopting a form which was already old-fashioned at the time it was built. In 1879, it was described as "a fairly handsome Doric structure, but inadequate to the requirements of the rapidly increasing postal and telegraphic business of so large a town". A further section at the rear of the building, facing Commercial Street, was constructed at the same time and in the same style, but is of a single storey, with a basement below.In 1910, a new head post office for the city was constructed on Fitzalan Square. The building was purchased by the Sheffield Stock Exchange, which opened its new site with a grand ceremony in 1911. The stock exchange operated until 1967, when the creation of British Steel Corporation dramatically reduced its business.The building was restored in the 1970s, and the interior was completely reworked to serve as a branch of the Yorkshire Bank, which it remained until September 2014. The building is Grade II listed.As of July 2017, the building remains unoccupied following Yorkshire Bank's vacation of the site. There are currently plans for the refurbishment of 2 Haymarket and the adjacent building at 5-7 Commercial Street, which would include the addition of a second floor on the Commercial Street building and the creation of 11 flats across both buildings.

The Sheffield Digital Campus is a new development in Sheffield City Centre close to the railway station and bus station. Partners include the developer Teesland/GMI, Sheffield City Council, Creative Sheffield, the city centre urban regeneration company and Yorkshire Forward, the regional development agency. Over £1.6 million of European Union funds are being invested in South Yorkshire's infrastructure and so it is hoped that businesses locating into the eCampus, may qualify for Regional Selective Assistance and Regional Enterprise Grants. The development which will offer over 600,000 sq ft (56,000 m2) of high quality office accommodation, as a custom built hub for digital, ICT, multi-media and software companies. The layout of the campus will be flexible to cater for companies of all sizes and to adapt to the changing needs of its tenants. The campus will be designed as a series of contemporary buildings and landscaped open spaces.

The Crucible Theatre (often referred to simply as "The Crucible") is a theatre in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England which opened in 1971. Although it hosts regular theatrical performances, it is best known for hosting professional snooker's most prestigious tournament, the World Snooker Championship, which has been held annually at the venue since 1977. Its name is a reference to the local steel industry. In May 2022 plans were unveiled to build a new 3,000-seater venue nearby with a bridge connecting the two buildings.
