Laarwoud

The Prins Bernhardhoeve (PBHZ) was a building complex for fairs and events in Zuidlaren, Netherlands. Opened in 1956, the complex consisted of three halls which were all named after members of the Dutch royal family. The largest hall was the Prince Constantijn hall, situated next to main entrance of the building. The building complex was demolished in 2016.

The Zuidlaardermarkt (Dutch: Market of Zuidlaren) is an annual horse and country market in Zuidlaren, Netherlands. It is held on the third Tuesday in October. The horse market is the largest in Europe.The country market has about 350 market stalls each year, with a total length of 2.3 miles. The fair is located in the centre of the village near the horse market. The event enjoys popularity and large attendance by Dutch, German and Belgian horsetraders. Market manager is Jaap Mellema from Tynaarlo. The organization of the event involves a lot of volunteers, including a local choir.

Zuidlaren (Noordenvelds: Zuudlaoren) is a village in the province of Drenthe in the Northern Netherlands. Zuidlaren has just over 10,000 inhabitants and is situated on natural heightened land which is called the Hondsrug. The village is part of the municipality of Tynaarlo. Formerly the village had its own municipality called Zuidlaren, but in 1998 Zuidlaren merged with Eelde and Vries. The new municipality was called "Zuidlaren" at first, but was renamed to Tynaarlo on 1 December 1999. Tynaarlo is the name of a much smaller village than Zuidlaren and is located between the 3 largest villages of the municipality: Eelde, Zuidlaren and Vries. The new town hall is located in Vries, which replaced the Laarwoud town hall in 2004.

De Wachter (English: The Watchman) is a smock mill in Zuidlaren, Drenthe, which has been restored to working order. The mill was built in 1851 and is listed as a Rijksmonument, number 41064.

De Vlindertuin is a restaurant located in Zuidlaren in the Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star from 2008 to present.GaultMillau awarded the restaurant 15.0 out of 20 points.Head chef is Jilt Cazemier. De Vlindertuin is a member of Les Patrons Cuisiniers.De Vlindertuin was the first recipient of the "Provincial Awards" from the magazin "Lekker" in 2008. The received the award for being the highest ranking restaurant in Drenthe in the Lekker Top 100.The restaurant is located in a renovated Saxonian farmhouse built in 1719. It is the same building that earlier housed the Michelin starred restaurant Les Quatre Saisons.

Restaurant Les Quatre Saisons is a defunct restaurant in Zuidlaren, in the Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 1981 and retained that rating until 1985.The restaurant closed before 1993, as the Michelin Guide mentioned the later also starred restaurant De Vlindertuin at that address.The restaurant was located in a renovated Saxonian farmhouse built in 1719. It is the same building that later housed the Michelin starred restaurant De Vlindertuin.

Midlaren is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Tynaarlo, and lies about 14 km southeast of Groningen.

Schipborg is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Aa en Hunze, and lies about 11 km northeast of Assen. The village was first mentioned between 1298 and 1304 as Borc, and is a combination of a tree (probably a birch) and ship.Schipborg was home to 84 people in 1840.

De Groeve is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Tynaarlo, and lies about 15 km southeast of Groningen.

Noordlaren is a village in the municipality of Groningen in the Dutch province of Groningen. It had a population of around 545 in 2021.In 2010 it was said to be 850 years old. In the past Noordlaren was a farming village. Nowadays there are still a few farmers in Noordlaren, but there are also many people from outside the village, that came to live in Noordlaren, because of the beautiful nature and rest. Notable locations in the village include the wind mill which still operates to produce flour, the eight centuries old church, the gastro-pub at the centre of the village, and the home at Kerkstraat 17.

The Strubben–Kniphorstbos is a nature reserve of 377 hectares, located between Anloo and Schipborg in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is the only archaeological reserve in the Netherlands. The park's composite name is derived from the 'stubby' oaks in the area, and by Gerrit Kniphorst, who was in the 19th century the owner of the then heathlands. Beginning in 1938, the site was for the most part of the 20th century used as a military training ground.

Zuidlaardermeer is a lake in the northern part of the Netherlands. The lake runs Northwest of the village of Zuidlaren and southwards of the former municipality of Hoogezand-Sappemeer and is called Zuidlaardermeer (Dutch for: Lake of Zuidlaren). The lake is largely situated in the provinces of Groningen and Drenthe. It was formed 5,000-8,000 years ago. The lake is fed by the river Hunze. This river enters the lake in the south-east and exits the lake in the north as Drentsche Diep. The lake is shallow (about 3 ft deep), but some parts are deeper, like the fairway. The lake is popular with tourists, but in particular with yachtsmen. Many sailboats are moored in the lake, because the Zuidlaardermeer is one of the few suitable lakes for sailing in the region. Large parts of the lake and nearby polders are conducted by the Groninger Zeeschap foundation.
