Dunsinane Hill ( dun-SIN-ən) is a hill of the Sidlaws near the village of Collace in Perthshire, Scotland. It is mentioned in Shakespeare's play Macbeth, in which a vision informs Macbeth that he "shall never vanquished be, until Great Birnam wood to high Dunsinane hill Shall come against him." The hill has a height of 310 metres (1,020 ft) and commands expansive views of the surrounding countryside. It consists of a late Iron Age hill fort, the ramparts of which remain obvious. The site was damaged by undocumented amateur excavations in the 19th century by antiquarians attracted to the site by its Shakespearean connection. Little of value was learned about the history of the monument from these unscientific endeavours. Dunsinane is the traditional site of a 1054 battle in which Siward, Earl of Northumbria defeated Macbeth of Scotland. The much earlier Iron Age hill fort has long been known as Macbeth's Castle, though there is no archaeological evidence that it was in use by him or anyone during the mid eleventh century.

Kinrossie is a linear village in the Perth and Kinross area of Scotland. It is less than a mile south off the A94 road, 8 miles (13 kilometres) from Perth and 6 miles (10 kilometres) from Coupar Angus.

Fingask Castle is a country house in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It is perched 200 feet (61 m) above Rait, three miles (5 km) north-east of Errol, in the Braes of the Carse, on the fringes of the Sidlaw Hills. Thus it overlooks both the Carse of Gowrie and the Firth of Tay and beyond into the Kingdom of Fife. The name derives from Gaelic fionn-gasg: a white or light-coloured appendage.Fingask was once an explicitly holy place, a convenient and numinous stop-off between the abbeys at Falkirk and Scone. It was later held by the Bruce family, and then by the Threiplands. In the eighteenth century it was owned by Jacobites and was forfeited. The castle is a Category B listed building, and the estate is included on the Inventory of Historic Gardens and Designed Landscapes, the national register of significant gardens.

Rait () is a small village in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It lies 2+1⁄2 miles (4 kilometres) northwest of Errol, in the Gowrie area west of Dundee, on a minor road crossing the Sidlaw Hills through the Glen of Rait. The village is mainly residential with stone cottages, some modern developments and also features some single storey thatched cottages dating back to the 1700s or early 1800s which form a fermtoun. The former parish church, now ruined, was built in the Middle Ages, and abandoned in the 17th century when the parish of Rait was merged with Kilspindie. The remains of a prehistoric promontory fort lie to the east of the village. The 16th-century Fingask Castle is located to the north of the village, on the south-facing slopes of the Sidlaw Hills.

Balbeggie () is a village in Perth and Kinross, Scotland about 7 miles (11 kilometres) northeast of Perth on the A94 road.

Kilspindie is a village in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It is situated on the Kilspindie burn, approximately 2+3⁄4 miles (4.5 kilometres) northwest of Errol, 12 miles (19 kilometres) west of Dundee centre and 6+1⁄2 miles (10 kilometres) east of Perth. The village has an area of 6,500 acres (2,600 hectares) of which 3,500 acres (1,400 hectares) are arable land and 200 acres (81 hectares) are woodland, the local geology is mostly whinstone, amygdule and trap. Records show there was a chapel in the village since at least 1214 though the current church, the Kilspindie and Rait Parish Church, was built in 1670 and refurbished in 1938. The village previously housed the Kilspindie Castle which was demolished before 1670. In the Ordnance Gazetteer of Scotland (1882–84) Francis Groome described Kilspindie: Kilspindie, a village and a parish in Gowrie district, SE Perthshire. The village, standing in the mouth of a small glen, 1 mile SSW of Rait, 2⅛ miles NNW of Errol station, and 3⅜ NNE of Glencarse station, had anciently a castle, now extinct, and figures in Blind Harry's narrative as the place where Sir William Wallace, with his mother, found refuge in his boyhood. The village is twinned with Fléac in France.

Kinnaird (Scottish Gaelic: An Ceann Àrd, "high headland") is a village in Gowrie, Perthshire, Scotland. It is notable for its 15th-century castle. The four-storeyed Kinnaird Castle was a stronghold of the Threiplands of Fingask, a local Jacobite family. The castle was restored heavily by then owner Stuart Stout in the 1960s, and was later the venue for his 1988 wedding to Audrey Gregory, who reportedly became "known as the Lady of Kinnaird".The area is also home to an early-19th-century parish church. In the 18th century, it was the home of the Reverend James Adams, who contributed to the Marrow Controversy in the church of Scotland. The Carse of Gowrie, in which the village is located, is an agricultural district of Perthshire.

Gowrie (Scottish Gaelic: Gobharaidh) is a region in central Scotland and one of the original provinces of the Kingdom of Alba. It covered the eastern part of what became Perthshire. It was located to the immediate east of Atholl, and originally included the area around Perth (and the ancient Scottish royal sites of Scone), though that was later detached as Perthia. Its chief settlement is the city of Perth. Today it is most often associated with the Carse of Gowrie, the part of Gowrie south of the Sidlaw Hills running east of Perth to Dundee.

Witches' Stone is an historic stone in the Scottish parish of St Martins, Perth and Kinross. It marks the location where Macbeth meets with two witches in William Shakespeare's tragedy. It is first mentioned in text in 1806, when William Mackenzie, father of architect William Macdonald Mackenzie, was the landowner.The stone, which first appeared on Ordnance Survey maps in 1866, stands around 4 feet (1.2 m) high and has a groove on its top, believed to be the result of a chain being used on it.

Coupar Angus ( ; Gaelic: Cupar Aonghais) is a town in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It lies on the River Isla in the broad and fertile Valley of Strathmore, 4 miles (6 kilometres) south of Blairgowrie. The A94 road from Perth to Forfar runs through the town, and it had a station on the Midland Junction line until 1967. The town formerly straddled the border between Angus and Perthshire, but it has lain wholly within Perthshire since 1891. It retains the name "Coupar Angus", however, which serves to distinguish it from Cupar in Fife.

Coupar Angus Town Hall is a municipal structure in Union Street in Coupar Angus, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. The structure, which is used as a community events venue and a library, is a Category C listed building.

Coupar Angus railway station served the town of Coupar Angus, Perth and Kinross, Scotland from 1837 to 1967 on the Scottish Midland Junction Railway.
