Hickory Ridge Mall is a community shopping mall located in Memphis, Tennessee. It was severely damaged by a tornado on February 5, 2008. The mall was renovated and reopened in 2010.

Hickory Hill is a middle-class, predominantly African American community in the southeast region of Memphis, Tennessee, United States.

Kirby High School (KHS) is a public high school in the Hickory Hill community of Memphis, Tennessee, United States, and is a part of the Shelby County Schools district. KHS was established in 1980 as part of the Shelby County School System, serving students from grades 7 to 10, subtracting and adding grades until the first graduating class left KHS at the end of the 1982-83 school year. It later became a Memphis City School campus, after Memphis annexed Hickory Hill in 1999.

Capleville is a community in the southeast section of Memphis, Tennessee, United States, and is north of the Mississippi border. It is located 0.5 mi. east of the Memphis International Airport, starting 1 mi. west of the intersection of State Routes 176 and 175, and heading east along State Route 175 (Shelby Drive) crossing U.S. Route 78. The area has been incorporated into the City of Memphis and since has become a large industrial center due to its proximity to the airport and Lamar Avenue (U.S. Route 78) which becomes a divided freeway after State Route 175. Local landmarks include Emerald Park, Fox Meadows Park, McFarland Park, Mooney Park, Walter K Singleton Park and Wilson Park. Although its current buildings were not erected until after 1971, the Capleville Methodist Church is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.Capleville is the childhood home of author Jerry Pournelle. The Caples were some of the first settlers in West Tennessee, and once owned all the land in Tennessee that became Capleville, plus some land in Mississippi. Sudie Caple married into the Sims Family, another prominent Family in Memphis, Tennessee. Her son Thomas M. "Pappy" Sims joined the U.S. Army in 1941, at the age of 31, thus earning him the appellation of "Pappy" as he was the oldest recruit in his unit. He distinguished himself in World War II. He was in Patton's Third Army, and it was his company that discovered Hitler's secret jet airplane factory hidden below a mountain. He was grievously wounded in battle in heroic action and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

Mineral Wells is an unincorporated community located in central DeSoto County, Mississippi, United States, near the Mississippi/Tennessee border, just south of Memphis and approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) north of Olive Branch on Mississippi Highway 178. Mineral Wells is located on the former St. Louis–San Francisco Railway.A post office operated under the name Mineral Wells from 1910 to 1994.

Wooddale High School is a high school in Memphis, Tennessee, United States. Wooddale is a part of Shelby County Schools. Their mascot is the Cardinal. The school is located at 5151 Scottsdale Avenue. Notable alumni include former NFL defensive tackle Dontari Poe.

Maywood Beach was a water park located in Olive Branch, Mississippi, just across the Mississippi state line from Memphis, Tennessee.

Westminster Academy is a private school, and was established in 1996 as Memphis’ only JK-12th grade classical Christian school. The school offers a variety of sporting activities including but not limited to, soccer, tennis, and basketball for both boys and girls.

Parkway Village is a predominantly African-American community in southeast Memphis, Tennessee, United States. Parkway Village is bounded by Getwell Road and Lamar Avenue on the West, Winchester Road on the South, I-240 on the North, and Mendenhall Road on the East. The former Mall of Memphis was in the Parkway Village community. In 1956, developers began to develop the farmland that is now Parkway Village for "gracious suburban living". Parkway Village remained a quiet community with little crime and well kept neighborhoods throughout most of the 1980s. In the late 1980s it became a neighborhood in transition and crime rate began to rise. Parkway Village is in the 38118 zip code. The population is primarily African-American, younger, and mostly single. The average home value, ($68,900) is lower than in the Memphis metro area as a whole.

The Stuttering Foundation of America provides free online resources, services and support to those who stutter and their families, as well as support for research into the causes of stuttering. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, The Stuttering Foundation was established by Malcolm Fraser, the co-founder of Genuine Parts Company, in 1947 in Memphis, Tennessee. The Stuttering Foundation provides a toll-free helpline, free printed and online resources including books, pamphlets, videos, posters, referral services, support and information for people who stutter and their families, and research into the causes of stuttering.Today, Malcolm Fraser's daughter, Jane Fraser, is president of the Foundation. In 2007, Fraser was named the Nonprofit Executive of the Year by The NonProfit Times. The Foundation sponsors educational conferences, workshops and symposia, and week-long intensive training workshops for speech-language pathologists.

Lichterman Nature Center is a certified arboretum and nature center located in East Memphis, Tennessee. It has many outdoor and indoor animal exhibits, as well as several activities and events. The Lichterman Nature Center is one of the facilities within the Pink Palace Family of Museums.
