The school, which serves grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Memphis-Shelby County Schools district. Built in the Memphis City School the became a part of the then Shelby County Schools district when the school district surrendered its charter in 2014. The school was named in honor of Memphis Mayor S. Watkins Overton.

The Mall of Memphis was a shopping mall in Memphis, Tennessee, containing 885,627 sq ft (82,277.4 m2) of retail space and 5,564 parking spaces. The mall opened October 7, 1981, closed on December 24, 2003, and was demolished in 2004. Among other things, the mall was home to the Ice Chalet, Memphis's only public ice rink.

Parkway Village is a predominantly African-American community in southeast Memphis, Tennessee, United States. Parkway Village is bounded by Getwell Road and Lamar Avenue on the West, Winchester Road on the South, I-240 on the North, and Mendenhall Road on the East. The former Mall of Memphis was in the Parkway Village community. In 1956, developers began to develop the farmland that is now Parkway Village for "gracious suburban living". Parkway Village remained a quiet community with little crime and well kept neighborhoods throughout most of the 1980s. In the late 1980s it became a neighborhood in transition and crime rate began to rise. Parkway Village is in the 38118 zip code. The population is primarily African-American, younger, and mostly single. The average home value, ($68,900) is lower than in the Memphis metro area as a whole.

Harding School of Theology, known until 2011 as Harding University Graduate School of Religion, is located in Memphis, Tennessee, in the United States. It is an entity related to the private Christian university associated with the Churches of Christ known as Harding University, the main campus of which is in Searcy, Arkansas. Harding School of Theology exists primarily to train religious ministers for congregations of the Churches of Christ. It is located in East Memphis on a campus which consists of part of a large estate given by a wealthy donor, on property shared with the K-12 church affiliated private school Harding Academy. In 2011 the institution's administration announced the change of name, from Harding University Graduate School of Religion to Harding School of Theology. The name changed represented a "rebranding strategy that seeks to reflect better the School's goal of equipping and inspiring servants of Christ with deeper faith and higher standards of scholarship"—as indicated in the alumni magazine.

Wooddale High School is a high school in Memphis, Tennessee, United States. Wooddale is a part of Shelby County Schools. Their mascot is the Cardinal. The school is located at 5151 Scottsdale Avenue. Notable alumni include former NFL defensive tackle Dontari Poe.

Elvis Presley House is a one-story ranch style house in a residential neighborhood in Memphis, Tennessee. Singer Elvis Presley lived here with his parents between March 1956 and March 1957, before moving to Graceland.

Carnival Memphis (formerly known as the Memphis Cotton Carnival), is a series of parties and festivals staged annually since 1931 in Memphis, Tennessee by the centralized Carnival Memphis Association and its member krewes (similar to that of Mardi Gras) during the month of June. Carnival salutes various aspects of Memphis and its industries, and is reigned over by current year's secretly selected King, Queen, and Royal Court of Carnival.

The Dixon Gallery and Gardens is an art museum within 17 acres of gardens, established in 1976, and located at 4339 Park Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee, United States. The museum focuses on French and American impressionism and features works by Monet, Degas, and Renoir, Pierre Bonnard, Mary Cassatt, Marc Chagall, Honoré Daumier, Henri Fantin-Latour, Paul Gauguin, Henri Matisse, Berthe Morisot, Edvard Munch, Auguste Rodin, and Alfred Sisley, as well as an extensive collection of works by French Impressionist artist Jean-Louis Forain. The museum also houses the Stout Collection of 18th-century German porcelain. With nearly 600 pieces of tableware and figures, it is one of the finest such collections in the United States. The Dixon also features a comprehensive schedule of original and traveling exhibitions of fine art and horticulture. The museum sits within four principal outdoor sculpture gardens with Greco-Roman sculpture. Its site was acquired by the Dixons in 1939, and landscaped in the English Garden style with open vistas adjacent to smaller, intimate formal spaces. The major areas within the gardens are the Cutting Garden, Formal Garden, South Lawn, and Woodland Gardens.

Clark Tower is a 34-story high-rise office building located at 5100 Poplar Avenue in the East Memphis neighborhood of Memphis, Tennessee. It was completed in 1972. The building is owned by Cicada Capital Partners and Eightfold Real Estate Capital L.P. and managed by Avison Young Management.

i-Bank Tower is a 22-story, 274-foot-tall high-rise office building in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. It was designed by the Memphis-based architect Robert Lee Hall who also designed Clark Tower nearby. It is located at 5050 Poplar Avenue near White Station Road. Built in 1965, it was one of the first skyscrapers built away from the downtown skyline, about 15 miles away. When constructed, the top of the building was utilized as a revolving restaurant. However, it is now used as office space. The Memphis-based Independent Bank (or i-Bank) is headquartered in the building and its logo is illuminated on the top of the building (installed in the 2000s), replacing an old sign for Union Planters Bank. A similar logo was installed on the top of the One Commerce Square building downtown in June 2012 when another branch of the bank was opened.

FedExPark is a baseball stadium in Memphis, Tennessee. It is the home field of the Memphis Tigers baseball team. The stadium holds 2,000 spectators and opened in 1972 as Nat Buring Stadium. The stadium was renovated and expanded in 2009, at a cost of $3 million; the Tigers played the 2009 season at USA Stadium in Millington. The stadium was reopened on February 19, 2010, as FedExPark.
