Woodland Beach, Delaware

Woodland Beach Wildlife Area is a state wildlife area located in Kent County, Delaware, along shore of the Delaware Bay. It is 6,320 acres (2,558 ha) in size and is managed by Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), Division of Fish & Wildlife.Much of the area is a transgressive brackish marsh. The Thomas Sutton House serves as a residence and office for the personnel of the Woodland Beach Wildlife Area. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Thomas Sutton House, also known as the House on Game Preserve, is a historic home located at Woodland Beach, Kent County, Delaware. It was built about 1733, and is a two-story stuccoed brick house, constructed on a single pile, hall and parlor plan. It has a lower two-story wing that extends the axis of the main house. It serves as a residence and office for the personnel of the Woodland Beach Wildlife Area.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

John M. Voshell House is a historic home located near Smyrna, Kent County, Delaware. It was built in about 1850, and is a two-story, five-bay L-shaped brick dwelling with a gable roof. The roof has a heavy cornice and wide overhang in the Italianate style. Short's Landing Hotel Complex is a historic hotel and farm complex located near Smyrna, Kent County, Delaware. The complex consists of five contributing buildings and one contributing structure. They are the brick hotel (c. 1780), a frame Federal-style mansion house (c. 1800), a small abandoned factory, and an extensive collection of outbuildings including a stable, granaries and storage sheds. The hotel is a two-story, five bay brick vernacular structure. The frame mansion house has a traditional center-hall, single-pile floor plan. The frame leadite factory was in operation mainly from the 1920s to the late 1940s.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
