Madison Hall

Alexander Pushkin is a bronze statue by Alexander Bourganov. It is located at the corner of 22nd Street and H Street, N.W. Washington D.C. on the campus of George Washington University. It was erected as part of a cultural exchange between the cities of Moscow and Washington; in 2009, a statue of the American poet Walt Whitman was erected in Moscow. Pushkin's statue is said to be the first monument commemorating a Russian literary figure in the United States.James W. Symington, then the Chairman of the American-Russian Cultural Cooperation Foundation, first proposed that a statue of Alexander Pushkin be erected in Washington. Ground was broken on June 6, 1999, the 200th anniversary of Pushkin's birth. The statue was completed over the forthcoming year and dedicated on September 20, 2000, as a gift from the Government of Moscow to the city of Washington.The figure of the author is posed in front of a tall column on which stands the winged horse Pegasus, which represents "poetry and creative inspiration".

The Estelle and Melvin Gelman Library, more commonly known as Gelman Library, is the main library of The George Washington University, and is located on its Foggy Bottom campus. The Gelman Library, the Eckles Library on the Mount Vernon campus and the Virginia Science and Technology Campus Library in Ashburn comprise the trio known as the George Washington University Libraries. The Himmelfarb Health Sciences Library and the Jacob Burns Law Library also serve the university. The Gelman Library is a member of the Washington Research Library Consortium and the Association of Research Libraries.

The Columbian College of Arts and Sciences (known as Columbian College or CCAS) is the college of liberal arts and sciences of the George Washington University, in Washington, D.C. The Columbian College is especially known for its programs in forensic science, political sciences, history, English, and economics in the United States.CCAS is the largest school at George Washington University, with around 5,000 undergraduate students and 2,500 graduate students, and 42 academic departments, representing a significant portion of the University's instructional, scholarly and research activity. The School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. is a technical school which specializes in engineering, technology, communications, and transportation. The school is located on the main campus of the George Washington University and offers both undergraduate and graduate programs.

Foggy Bottom is one of the oldest late 18th- and 19th-century neighborhoods in Washington, D.C., located west of the White House and downtown Washington, in the Northwest quadrant. It is bounded roughly by 17th Street NW to the east, Rock Creek Parkway to the west, Constitution Avenue NW to the south, and Pennsylvania Avenue NW to the north. Foggy Bottom is thought to have received its name due to an atmospheric quirk of its low lying, marshy riverside location, which made it susceptible to concentrations of fog, and later, industrial smoke. The United States Department of State gained the metonym "Foggy Bottom" when it moved its headquarters to the nearby Harry S Truman Building, originally planned and constructed to be the new United States Department of War headquarters building, from the State, War, and Navy Building (now known as the Eisenhower Executive Office Building) near the White House in 1947.Foggy Bottom includes the main campus of the George Washington University (GWU), and residents have convenient access to the nearby historic Georgetown area. In 1877 the moons of Mars (Phobos and Deimos) were discovered from the old Naval Observatory in Foggy Bottom, which was located here until 1893.

Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis Hall (formerly known as Milton Hall) is a residence hall on the campus of the George Washington University, in Washington, DC. It is named after GW alumna Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis, former First Lady of the United States.

The National Churchill Leadership Center (NCLC) formerly known as the National Churchill Library and Center is a public library and museum at the George Washington University (GWU) in Washington, D.C., dedicated to the life and work of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. It is located on the ground level of the GWU's Gelman Library.The NCLC was officially opened on 29 October 2016 and is a collaboration between the George Washington University and the International Churchill Society. The concept of a Churchill research library in the United States was conceived in 2012 by International Churchill Society Chairman, Laurence Geller CBE, and the then President of the George Washington University, Steven Knapp. It was the first research facility in the U.S. capital dedicated to the study of Churchill.The NCLC contains hundreds of volumes by and about Churchill; a touchscreen exhibit based on the 2012 exhibition "Churchill: The Power of Words" at the Morgan Library in New York; online access to the Churchill Archive housed at Churchill College, Cambridge; and primary sources including the engagement diary cards that recorded Churchill's schedule during World War II.

The Ulysses S. Grant School is an historic high school, the home of the School Without Walls (Washington, D.C.) It is located at 2130 G Street Northwest, Washington, D.C., in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood.

Engine Company 23 is a fire station and a historic structure located in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The two-story Italianate style building was a collaboration of the Washington, D.C. architectural firm of Hornblower & Marshall and District of Columbia Municipal Architect Snowden Ashford. It was built in 1910. The exterior of the structure features segmental-arched vehicle openings and quoined limestone frontispiece. It was listed on both the District of Columbia Inventory of Historic Sites in 2005 and on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. The building sits on the campus of the George Washington University near Kogan Plaza.
