The Cold War Air Museum was an aviation museum located at the Lancaster Regional Airport in Lancaster, Texas focused on the Cold War and Eastern Bloc aircraft.

The W. A. Strain Farm–Strain House is a farmstead located in Lancaster, Texas, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the W. A. Strain House in 1978. A boundary increase in 2001 expanded the area covered from 2 acres to 163 acres and the property listing name was changed to W. A. Strain Farm–Strain House. The Strain House is an example of late Victorian architecture. It was designed by J. E. Flanders & Moad of Dallas. This firm also designed the Trinity Methodist Church in Dallas, and the Shackelford County Courthouse, which is part of an historic district in Albany, Texas. Joe Lyon built the house in 1896. The 2+1⁄2-story frame structure includes a gabled wood-shingle roof, and the brick foundation has an asymmetrical plan. The Strain Farm is believed to be the oldest working farm in Dallas County and is one of a small number of farms owned and operated for more than 100 years by a single family. The heirs of W. A. Strain have continued to live in the old family home, maintaining it with very few alterations and much of the original furnishings still intact.

The Randlett House is located in Lancaster, Texas, United States. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 11, 1978. Constructed by S.D. Andrews for Sam Randlett, a prominent local merchant, the house was completed in 1896 and represented the Randlett's social status within the community. Displaying characteristics of Victorian architecture, the Randlett house possesses an asymmetrical floor plan, numerous projecting wings, a complicated roof line and detailed woodwork.

Bear Creek Ranch is a planned community and census-designated place (CDP) in Dallas County, Texas, United States. It was first listed as a CDP in the 2020 census with a population of 1,787.It is in the southern part of the county, on the southeast side of Texas State Highway 342, which leads north 2 miles (3 km) to Lancaster and 9 miles (14 km) to the southern part of Dallas, while to the south it leads 3 miles (5 km) to the eastern part of Red Oak. Downtown Dallas is 17 miles (27 km) to the north, and Waxahachie is 13 miles (21 km) to the south.

Ferris Red Oak Muni Heliport (FAA LID: 12T) is a city-owned public heliport in Ellis County, Texas, United States, serving the cities of Ferris, Texas and Red Oak, Texas. The heliport has no IATA or ICAO designation. The facility is alternatively known as the Ferris Red Oak Municipal Heliport.The heliport is jointly owned by both cities, although the listed owner address is in Ferris, and it is maintained by City of Ferris Public Works.The heliport is used solely for general aviation purposes.

Founded in 1852 as a frontier post, Lancaster is one of Dallas County's earliest settlements. Today, it is a suburban community located in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, about 15 mi (24 km) south of downtown Dallas.Lancaster is part of the Best Southwest area, which includes Lancaster, Cedar Hill, DeSoto, and Duncanville.

Dallas College Cedar Valley Campus (Cedar Valley or CVC) is a public community college in Lancaster, Texas. It opened in 1977 and has an enrollment of more than 6,000 students. It is part of Dallas College. Beginning in the spring of 2004, Cedar Valley College began operating the Cedar Valley College Center at Cedar Hill. The extension center, located in Cedar Hill, Texas, will assist the district's continuing education program featuring classes on computer software, dance, English as a second language, health and wellness, writing résumés and CPA accreditation. For the 2008-09 school year, Cedar Valley began a joint dual credit enrollment project with the Dallas Independent School District and the Cedar Hill Independent School District by opening two early college high school campuses, one in Dallas and one in Cedar Hill. The new Dallas school is named Early College High School and provides the opportunity for its graduates to accomplish a high-school diploma and 60 hours of college credit concurrently. Like most early college high school programs, the school was designed to attract students who do not typically enroll in traditional dual-credit programs, such students whose parents did not attend college and those that might feel a college education is not financially possible. The new Cedar Hill school is named Cedar Hill Collegiate High School, and attracts students who are seeking 60 college credit hours upon graduating high school. The school is open to students of all backgrounds; however, the staff worked particularly hard to recruit black and Latino males, who are the least likely to earn college degrees.

Wilmer-Hutchins High School (nicknamed "The Hutch") is a public secondary school in Dallas, Texas (USA). A part of the Dallas Independent School District, Wilmer-Hutchins High was formerly part of the now defunct Wilmer-Hutchins Independent School District. Located at 5520 Langdon Road in far south Dallas, the 9-12 campus serves portions of Dallas, most of Hutchins, Wilmer, a small portion of Lancaster, as well as unincorporated areas in southeastern Dallas County.
