Llanmiloe is a village situated on the A4066 road in the south-west of Carmarthenshire, Wales, between the villages of Laugharne to the north-east and Pendine to the south-west. Llanmiloe House dates from the 1720s and is a Grade II listed building. Its park is listed, also at Grade II, on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.

Laugharne Township (Welsh: Lacharn) is the name of an electoral ward for Carmarthenshire County Council in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is represented by one county councillor. As well as the town of Laugharne, the ward also covers the neighbouring communities of Eglwyscummin, Llanddowror and Pendine. It includes the villages and settlements of Broadway, Cross Inn, Halfpenny Furze, Llandawke, Llanddowror, Llanmiloe, Llansadwrnen, Marros, Pendine, Plashett and Red Roses. The usual population of this ward at the 2011 census was 2,851.A 2019 boundary review by the Local Government Boundary Commission for Wales recommended the name of the ward be changed to 'Laugharne' with the Welsh name 'Lacharn' (though Laugharne Township Community Council preferred 'Talacharn'). It recommended no changes to the ward boundaries. The county council and news outlets continued to use the name Laugharne Township when reporting the 2022 Carmarthenshire County Council election results - though no election took place in Laugharne because there was only one candidate.

Llandawke is a small settlement in Carmarthenshire, Wales, situated roughly 1 mile from Laugharne, toward Tenby.It contains the now redunandant 13th century church of St Odoceus, which lay within the parish toward nearby Laugharne.

St Odoceus' Church, Llandawke, is a redundant church situated in a hollow near the road between Llandawke and Laugharne in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It has been designated by Cadw as a Grade II listed building, and is under the care of the Friends of Friendless Churches.

The Church of St Margaret Marloes is the Church in Wales parish church for the parish of Eglwyscummin, in southwestern Carmarthenshire, Wales. The present building dates from the 14th and 15th centuries with restoration work being undertaken in 1878 and again in 1900. The church has a round churchyard, an indication that this site has likely been used since prehistoric times. A tombstone dating back to the fifth century was found in the churchyard. It is believed that Saint Cynin founded the church as one of a series of missionary stations in the fifth century.An Ogham stone was found in the churchyard prior to 1900. The stone's inscription is in Latin and Celtic, with the word "ingenia" being substituted for the Latin word "filia". This type of Ogham stone inscription was common in Ireland, but was the only example of it outside of Ireland when it was discovered at the church.The church is a small building set in a hollow. It was said to be ruinous in 1710 and has a sprocketed, eighteenth-century roof. There is good stained glass windows, and a large carved oak altar and church fittings dating from 1882. Margaret Marloes, to whom it is dedicated, was the niece of Guy de Brian, Lord of Laugharne; a fourteenth-century effigy of her was brought inside the church from the churchyard in 1902 as it was getting badly eroded.In 1900 this was a rural parish with a population of 240 persons. The church was in need of immediate repairs and did not have enough money to perform them. The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings examined the building to estimate the cost of the needed repairs. An appeal for restoration funds was made through the journal Archaeologica Cambrensis with the consent of the local bishop.It was determined that the present structure dates back to at least the thirteenth century. The lack of ornamentation of the church made the dating process more difficult. During the examination, a small square opening on the north wall of the nave and a partially underground arch in the south wall were discovered and suggest there may have been an earlier church structure beneath the present one. The needed repairs were completed in 1901.The church was designated a Grade I-listed building on 30 November 1966, as an example of "an excellent small medieval church with vaulted nave and porch; a notable example of an Arts and Crafts restoration associated with Philip Webb and with exceptional interior fittings and stained glass". The cross in the churchyard became a Grade II listed building 1 December 2001.

Coygan Cave was an ossiferous cave near Laugharne in Carmarthenshire, Wales. The cave was about a mile from the sea and located in a limestone hillside, but has been destroyed by quarrying.Although prehistoric handaxes were found in the cave, there were no human bones. Three triangular handaxes (bout coupé) suggested that the cave had been used by Neanderthals some time between 64,000 and 38,000 years BCE. These axes were made of local materials. The cave was subsequently a den for hyenas, and was described by zoologist George Rolleston, prior to his death in 1881, as "the most perfect instance of a hyena den" he had seen. Rev G N Smith, a correspondent of Charles Darwin, collected many of the bone samples from the cave. Some of the finds are now held by the National Museum of Wales and others by Carmarthenshire County Museum.

Eglwyscummin (Welsh: Eglwys Gymyn) is a community situated on the south-western boundary of Carmarthenshire in south-west Wales. It is made up of the three ward parishes of Ciffig, Eglwyscummin, and Marros, all surrounding the village of Red Roses, which lies some three miles south of Whitland and forms part of the Laugharne Township electoral ward.The area consists mostly of farmland and is traversed from east to west by the main A477 road leading to south Pembrokeshire and the Pembroke Dock ferry port, crossed at Red Roses by the B4314 running southeastwards from the county boundary at Tavernspite to the seaside resort of Pendine Sands.

Llanddowror is a village and community in Carmarthenshire, Wales situated 2 miles (3 km) from St. Clears. Previously on the trunk road to Pembroke Dock, the village is small, historic and relatively unspoilt. Llanddowror is famous for being the home of its rector, Griffith Jones, the 18th century Anglican educator and promoter of Methodism, who was funded by Bridget Bevan in organising circulating schools to spread literacy in Carmarthenshire.The community is bordered to the south by Carmarthen Bay and inland with the communities of Pendine, Eglwyscummin, St Clears and Laugharne Township. The community includes the village of Llanmiloe and New Mill.
