Merthyr Tydfil

Merthyr Tydfil railway station is a railway station serving the town of Merthyr Tydfil in Wales. It is the terminus of the Merthyr branch of the Merthyr Line. Passenger services are provided by Transport for Wales. The station has one platform, and is situated near to the Tesco Superstore in the town. The station has a small car park, ticket office, passenger display panels and a taxi rank. Passengers wishing to use buses to other destinations have to walk through the town to the main bus station. Since the Spring 2009 Timetable change on Monday 18 May, trains are able to arrive/depart from the station every half hour after the commissioning of a passing loop near Merthyr Vale.

Merthyr Tydfil bus station is the bus station that serves the town of Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales. There are 14 stands and the main operator at the station is Stagecoach South Wales. NAT Group and First Call Travel also run services from Merthyr Tydfil bus station. The former bus station closed and was demolished for development.

Merthyr Plymouth Street railway station was a station that served the town of Merthyr Tydfil, Wales on the Taff Vale Railway. The station opened in 1841 as the original station until the completion of the nearby Merthyr High Street station was opened on the Vale of Neath Railway. The station at Plymouth Street closed in 1877 to passengers which were diverted to the High Street station. Plymouth Street continued to be used for goods traffic until the 1960s when the line between Merthyr Tydfil and Pentre-bach was closed. The viaduct was demolished and the site of Plymouth Street station is now occupied by Plymouth Court.

Ynysgau Chapel was one of the earliest chapels in Merthyr Tydfil. The cause dated back to 1749 and services were held in the Welsh language. The chapel was demolished in 1967 as part of the Merthyr Town Improvement Scheme.

Merthyr Tydfil Town Hall (Welsh: Neuadd y Dref Merthyr Tudful) is a municipal building in the High Street, Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales. The town hall, which was the headquarters of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, is a Grade II* listed building.

Merthyr Tydfil Law Courts is a Crown Court venue which deals with criminal cases, as well as a County Court, which deals with civil cases, in Glebeland Place, Merthyr Tydfil, Wales. It also accommodates the local magistrates' court.

The Old Iron Bridge of 1800, originally known simply as Merthyr Bridge before 1809, in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, was a cast-iron bridge across the River Taff.Although an important early example of iron bridge-building and well known as a local landmark within living memory, the bridge has largely disappeared from engineering history.

The former Merthyr Synagogue is located on Bryntirion Road in the Thomastown section of Merthyr Tydfil, Wales. It is a Grade II listed building and is the oldest purpose-built synagogue still standing in Wales.

Saint Tydfil's Hospital (Welsh: Ysbyty Sant Tydfil) was a rehabilitation hospital in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales. It was managed by the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board. The entrance block, which is still standing, is a Grade II listed building.

Merthyr Tydfil College (Welsh: Y Coleg Merthyr Tudful) is a further education college located in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales. From May 2006 to April 2013, it was a constituent college of the University of Glamorgan and thereafter, a college of the University of South Wales. Previously, the college was an independent institution, but became part of the University of Glamorgan Group in May 2006. Although it is a constituent college of the university, Merthyr Tydfil College is not officially part of the university. It is run by the University of South Wales as a separate organization, primarily focused on offering further education to the local community in Merthyr Tydfil. The college provides a range of courses to students from the local area, including GCSEs, A Levels, BTECs, Apprenticeships and Access courses. Merthyr Tydfil College also offers a limited provision of higher education courses in conjunction with the University of South Wales.

Canolfan Soar is a Grade II-listed community facility in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, that includes a theatre and other facilities. It was converted from the closed Grade II-listed, eighteenth-century, Zoar Chapel in the first decade of the twenty-first century.

Bethesda, Merthyr Tydfil was one of the earliest chapels in the Welsh industrial town of Merthyr Tydfil. Services were held in the Welsh language.
