Heanor

Heanor Town Hall is a municipal building in the Market Street, Heanor, Derbyshire, England. The town hall, which is the meeting place of Heanor and Loscoe Town Council, is a grade II listed building.

Heanor was an Urban District in Derbyshire, England from 1894 to 1974. It was created under the Local Government Act 1894. The district was abolished in 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972 and combined with the Alfreton, Belper, Heanor and Ripley urban districts and Belper Rural District to form the new Amber Valley district.

Heanor and Loscoe is a civil parish within the Amber Valley district, which is in the county of Derbyshire, England. Mainly built up with rural fringes, its population was 17,251 residents in the 2011 census. The parish is 120 miles (190 km) north west of London, 10 miles (16 km) north east of the county city of Derby, and contains the market town of Heanor along with other areas. It shares a boundary with the parishes of Aldercar and Langley Mill, Codnor, Denby, Shipley and Smalley.

The Town Ground is a cricket and football ground in the town of Heanor, Derbyshire, England. For cricket, the ground is the home of Heanor Town CC, and has also been used by Derbyshire CCC in the 1970s and 1980s, mostly for limited-over matches. Heanor railway station was a railway station which served the town of Heanor in Derbyshire, England. It was opened in 1890 by the Midland Railway on its branch between Langley Mill (Branch) railway station on the Erewash Valley Line and Ripley There was a second station also named Heanor on the branch from Ilkeston of the Great Northern Railway Derbyshire Extension line. A Midland timetable in July 1922 noted "nearly 1 mile to Great Northern Station"

Heanor railway station was a former railway station at Heanor in Derbyshire, England, opened in 1891. It was the terminus of the branch from Ilkeston on the Great Northern Railway Derbyshire Extension line. It was one of two stations called "Heanor". The other had been opened by the Midland Railway the year before. It was not until 1950 that British Railways renamed them Heanor North and Heanor South. Unofficially, the station was known locally as 'Heanor Gate' to separate it from the other Heanor station before they were both officially renamed.The GNR station closed to passenger services in 1939 and for goods in 1963. The last stationmaster was H.H. Voss, also a Derbyshire County Council Alderman who retired after 44 years service on the railway locally in October 1963.

Aldercar is a village in Derbyshire, England. It is located near Langley Mill, close to the county boundary with Nottinghamshire, and forms part of the civil parish of Aldercar and Langley Mill. The area is commonly known in Amber Valley thanks to Aldercar High School, the local secondary school. The area is also home to Aldercar Hall down Aldercar lane, one of the first houses in the area.

Aldercar High School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Aldercar, Derbyshire, England.It is close to the A610 and Langley Mill Academy, and is next door to Aldercar Infants School.

Heanor Gate Spencer Academy is a medium-sized secondary academy school and specialist Science College located in Heanor in the Amber Valley district of Derbyshire, England. Although in 2012 the school achieved an "outstanding" Ofsted report, in 2013 the school was downgraded to "inadequate", which resulted in the school being placed in special measures.

Marlpool railway station is a former railway station that served the village of Marlpool in Derbyshire, England. It was opened on a branch line from Ilkeston to Heanor on the Great Northern Railway (Great Britain) Derbyshire Extension line. Opened in 1891, passenger services finished in 1928. Today, the station building is a private residence.
