Pendleton College was a sixth form college in Pendleton, Salford, Greater Manchester, England. It was established in 1973 and merged with Salford College and Eccles College to form Salford City College in 2009.

Buile Hill Park is a Grade II listed public park in Salford, Greater Manchester, England. Covering 35 hectares (86 acres) it is the largest public park in the city, as well as the second oldest after Peel Park. The park and mansion are owned by Salford City Council. The Friends of Buile Hill Park is a non-profit society which contributes to activities in the park and how it is managed.

The Greater Manchester Built-up Area is an area of land defined by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), consisting of the large conurbation that encompasses the urban element of the city of Manchester and the metropolitan area that forms much of Greater Manchester in North West England. According to the United Kingdom Census 2011, the Greater Manchester Built-up Area has a population of 2,553,379 making it the second most populous conurbation in the United Kingdom after the Greater London Built-up Area. This was an increase of 14% from the population recorded at the United Kingdom Census 2001 of 2,240,230, when it was known as the Greater Manchester Urban Area.The Greater Manchester Built-up Area is not conterminous with Greater Manchester, a metropolitan county of the same name (and, until 1974, part of the county of Lancashire) for it excludes settlements such as Wigan and Marple from Greater Manchester, but includes hinterland settlements which lie outside its statutory boundaries, such as Wilmslow in Cheshire, Glossop in Derbyshire, Whitworth in Lancashire and Newton-le-Willows in Merseyside.

The Willows was a rugby league stadium in Weaste, Salford, England. It had a final capacity of 11,363 with 2,500 seats.

Irlams o' th' Height is a suburb of Salford, Greater Manchester, England, on top of the Irwell Valley, on higher ground than Pendleton, hence the name. The first part of the name derives from the Irlam family that ran the Pack Horse Inn in the 17th and 18th centuries. It was first recorded in the parish of Eccles in 1180. The village became prosperous in the 19th century due to the Industrial Revolution and became a well-established community of handloom weavers.Some parts of the area are now designated as a conservation area, centring on Queen Street, King Street and Claremont Road, as these retain the early street pattern. Thirty buildings are recognised as being of archaeological or historic interest in the Greater Manchester Sites and Monuments Register. The conservation area was designated in 1991 and is 1.02 hectares (2.52 acres) in size.

St Luke's Church is an Anglican church that stands on raised ground in Liverpool Street, Pendleton, Salford. The church, in the parish of Weaste, Seedley and Langworthy, is part of the Salford All Saints Team Ministry in the Salford deanery and the Manchester diocese. It was designated as a Grade II* listed building in 1980.

Irlams o' th' Height railway station was located on the Atherton Line between Manchester Victoria and Wigan Wallgate. The railway station was opened by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway on 1 July 1901, some 14 years after the Atherton Line had opened in 1888. The station closed on 5 March 1956. The preceding station was Pendleton, the following station was Pendlebury, also both since demolished. The station was located at the bottom of Bank Lane (just over the boundary in Pendlebury), however this was to prove to be the station's downfall, as it was located too far away from the main population centre of Irlams o' th' Height. Although isolated from the population centre, the station was located close to various factories, as well as the extensive Agecroft Locomotive Shed (demolished in 1968). The station's construction differed from all the others along the line, its being constructed of planks of wood (both platform and buildings) rather than the usual yellow brick which is the standard along the line. The station was noteworthy because the station was staffed entirely by women during the First World War.

All Hallows RC High School is a mixed Roman Catholic secondary school in the Pendleton area of Salford, Greater Manchester, England.It is a voluntary aided school administered by Salford City Council and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Salford. Pupils are mainly admitted from Catholic primary schools in Salford, including The Cathedral School of St Peter & St John RC in Salford, Holy Family RC Primary School in Oldham, St Boniface RC Primary School in Higher Broughton, St Joseph's RC Primary School in Ordsall, St Sebastian's RC Primary School in Pendleton and St Thomas of Canterbury RC Primary School in Higher Broughton.All Hallows RC High School offers GCSEs, BTECs and Cambridge Nationals as programmes of study for pupils. The school also has specialisms in Business, Enterprise and Sport.

Weaste railway station is a closed station on the Liverpool to Manchester line located between Seedley and Eccles in Salford. The line opened on 17 September 1830 but there is little detail of early stops or stations, early intermediate stations were little more than halts, usually where the railway was crossed by a road or turnpike.The station opened about 1831 or 1832 as Gortons Buildings, it is not known how long it was open for under this name, or if it was only open intermittently. The stop was not mentioned in the companies February 1831 list of stopping places but it is mentioned as existing in 1831 by Thomas(1980).Gortons Buildings are shown on the OS 1848 six-inch map to the south of the line, on the Eccles Turnpike between Warrington and Manchester, Weaste Lane Station is shown to the north at the end of Weaste Lane, adjacent to Victoria Cotton Mill, no platforms are shown on the map. Weaste Road did not exist at this time.In these early days the station was variously known as Gortons Buildings, Waste Lane, Weaste Lane and Weaste Lane Gate, it was called Waste Lane by Drake in his 1837 Road Book and Weaste Lane in the 1839 and 1850 Bradshaws.By 1856 it had settled down and was known from then as Weaste.By 1893 the running lines had been quadrupled with Weaste Road crossing the railway on an overbridge about 500 feet (150 m) west of the end of Weaste Lane, the area of the original station having become a goods yard. The station started to take goods traffic from 2 April 1883. Weaste station was now mostly located to the west of Weaste Road, with three platforms extending back under the overbridge. There was a central platform with running lines on both sides and outer platforms with one face to the railway. The station building was at road level with three stairways leading down to the platforms.It closed to passengers on 19 October 1942 and to freight on 1 November 1947.The line is still open but no trace of the station remains with the buildings having been removed and site obliterated by the building of the M602 motorway.
