The Leipzig Wildlife Park (in German: Wildpark Leipzig) is a zoo on the southern outskirts of Leipzig in the neighbourhood of Connewitz, Germany. It is located in the Leipzig Riverside Forest and is 42 ha (103.8 acres) in size. In the Leipzig Wildlife Park, around 25 animal species with around 250 animals that live or have lived in Central Europe or that have become native here are shown with free admission. Red deer, fallow deer and mouflon have a common large enclosure. There are also extensive enclosures for deer, wild boar, elk and European bison. Lynxes, otters, wildcats, raccoons, minks, red foxes and the European mink are kept in open outdoor enclosures. An exhibition room is available for the presentation of exhibitions and events. On a special adventure trail, visitors to the wildlife park have the opportunity to observe game without barriers. The tea house housed in a Russian log house, the wildlife park restaurant and a snack bar provide catering within the park. There are two playgrounds on the wildlife park grounds: the fairytale castle forest playground at the main entrance to Koburger Straße and the fairytale playground behind the Russian tea house. On the grounds of the wildlife park are the Jungfernlache and Panichs Lache, two oxbow lakes of the Pleiße and Weißer Elster in their common floodplain.

The Leipzig University of Applied Sciences, in German the Hochschule für Technik, Wirtschaft und Kultur (HTWK), is a Fachhochschule in Leipzig, in the Saxony region of Germany. It offers a combination of practice-oriented teaching and application-driven research, with a particularly broad spectrum of engineering and technical disciplines, as well as in the fields of economics, social science and culture. It offers more than 40 degree courses. There are currently about 6,200 students enrolled at HTWK. Leipzig.

Leipzig-Connewitz is a railway station in the city of Leipzig, Germany. The station is located on the Leipzig–Hof railway and Leipzig Hbf–Leipzig-Connewitz railway. Since December 2013 the station is served by the S-Bahn Mitteldeutschland, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn.

Markkleeberg Nord is a railway station in Markkleeberg, Saxony, Germany. The station is located on the Leipzig–Hof railway. The train services are operated by Deutsche Bahn. The station was opened with the commissioning of the S-Bahn Mitteldeutschland on 15 December 2013. It is located on the suburban tracks, line number 6377, and because of the space needed for the platform, the main line between Leipzig-Connewitz and Gaschwitz has been reduced to one track since 2013.

MDR Jump is a German public radio station owned and operated by the Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR).

The Batschke, also Floßgraben, is a small river of Saxony, Germany. It flows into the Pleiße near Leipzig. Much of its course has been disrupted by lignite mining.

The Leipzig Panometer is an attraction in Leipzig, Germany. It is a visual panorama displayed inside a former gasometer, accompanied by a thematic exhibition. The current theme is "Carolas Garten". The Panometer was created in 2003 by the Austrian-born artist Yadegar Asisi, who coined the name as a portmanteau of "panorama" and "gasometer". He opened another Panometer in Dresden in 2006. His panoramas are also displayed in Berlin, Pforzheim, Wittenberg, Hanover and Rouen.

Fockeberg is a Schuttberg in the south of Leipzig Saxony, southeastern Germany, and is actually a pile of rubble left over from the bombing during World War II.

Leipzig Prison (Strafvollzugseinrichtung Leipzig, later Justizvollzugsanstalt Leipzig) was a prison in Leipzig, Germany. Built together with an adjacent court building in 1906, it was used as a prison until 2003. During East German rule, a secret part of the prison was used as the central execution site of East Germany. Between 1960 and 1978, 18 Nazi war criminals were executed at Leipzig Prison. In 1981, Werner Teske was the final person executed here. The prison was used until 2003, the site is now used as an extension of the nearby court building, with the execution site remaining as a memorial site.

The Rundling, also called "Nibelungensiedlung", is a circular housing estate in the southern part of Leipzig in the Lößnig neighborhood. At a time of great housing shortage, the housing complex was built in 1929/30 by the Leipzig architect and city planning officer Hubert Ritter. Ritter built 24 houses in a row construction on a flat hill on what was then the outskirts of the city, arranged in the form of three concentric rings. The outer ring has a diameter of 300 meters (985 ft.). Ritter emphasized the hilltop location by designing the inner ring to have four floors instead of three. Two main axes perpendicular to each other and some side entrances open up the area for traffic. The western entrance is emphasized by two front buildings with neighborhood shops on the ground floor areas. The houses in the two outer rings are accessed from the circular Nibelungenring between them, while those in the inner ring are accessed from the central Siegfriedplatz. The buildings were designed in the New Objectivity style. According to the architectural historian Winfried Nerdinger, the Rundling is a "symbol of the ideals of the Neues Bauen style of the Weimar Republic". 624 apartments were created with eleven differently tailored floor plans of different sizes and always designed with the aspect of optimal lighting conditions in mind, for example no living rooms facing north. The Siegfriedplatz in the center of the complex, planned by the city garden director Nikolaus Molzen (1881–1954), contained a large paddling pool for the children of the settlement.The Rundling suffered heavy damage during World War II. The paddling pool was gutted after the war and initially used for gardening, then a bed area was created and the pool was abandoned. In 1965/66 the buildings were partially rebuilt. During the comprehensive renovation of the listed complex from 1993 until 1997, five blocks destroyed in the war were rebuilt. The Leipziger Wohnungs- und Baugesellschaft, the municipal real estate company of the city of Leipzig, was awarded the Deutscher Bauherrenpreis for this redevelopment.

The Leinegraben is a small river of Saxony, Germany. It flows into the Pleiße near Leipzig.

Leipzig MDR is a railway station in the city of Leipzig, Germany. It was built as part of the Leipzig City Tunnel project and opened on 15 December 2013, enabling passengers to travel directly by rail from Leipzig Hauptbahnhof through the city centre to destinations south of the city. The station is in the cutting running from the southern ramp of the City Tunnel. Its planning name was Semmelweisstraße. It consists of two 140 metre-long side platforms that are located directly south of Semmelweisstraße, which crosses the railway tracks here; this street was recently built to connect Kurt-Eisner-Straße with Zwickauer Straße. Access to the platforms is by stairs and ramps. MDR stands for Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk, a public broadcaster located near the station.
