West Moonah is a residential suburb of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. It is part of the City of Glenorchy local government area, with about 5% being in the Hobart LGA. At the 2016 Australian census, the suburb recorded a population of approximately 1,000. Formerly known as Springfield, the area is fast becoming acceptable because of its closeness to the city. The West Moonah Community Centre is a hub for community activities in the community. Located next to a park, the Community Centre offers a community preschool, playgroups, community garden, community computer lab, craft classes, walking and other community activities. West Moonah has two schools. Springfield Gardens Primary School is a public school and the independent Seventh-day Adventist Hilliard Christian School. There are also two parks, including the Jim Bacon Reserve with its community pathway. West Moonah is nearby shopping areas, schools, churches, government services, sporting facilities and childcare centres in the neighbouring suburbs of Glenorchy, Derwent Park and Moonah. West Moonah is serviced by one bus route. By car, West Moonah is 15 minutes from downtown Hobart and 6 minutes from New Town.

Moonah Arts Centre (MAC) is a publicly funded multi-arts hub in Moonah, Tasmania, a northern suburb of Hobart. Since opening on 6 March 2015 at a cost of AU$4 million, the centre stages exhibitions, live music, theatre, workshops and community festivals year-round. MAC is owned and operated by the Glenorchy City Council.

St John's Anglican Church is an Anglican church located in New Town, Tasmania, Australia, is notable for its unbroken record of use as a parish church, from the first service on 20 December 1835 up to the present. The parish is administered by the Anglican Diocese of Tasmania. The building was designed by the Tasmanian government civil engineer and architect, Dublin-born John Lee Archer who had been appointed in 1826 and arrived in Hobart Town in August 1827.The church was built by labourers and tradespeople from amongst the convicts on the island.Since it is more than 180 years old the church contains many features that reflect the life and times of Hobart as it developed in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Lenah Valley is a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania. It is situated in the foothills of Mount Wellington, north of the CBD between Mount Stuart, New Town and the City of Glenorchy. Lenah Valley was originally known as Kangaroo Bottom, later Kangaroo Valley and Sassafras Valley. The suburb was amalgamated as Lenah Valley in 1922. Lenah is the Mouheneenner word for kangaroo.

It is administered by the Tasmanian Department of Education. Hobart City High School has two main campuses called Oglivie and New Town to recognize the previous schools. As of 2022, the school's lead principal is Deb Day.

It was merged with Ogilvie High School to form Hobart City High School from the 2022 school year. The New Town High School site is referred to as the New Town Campus of the new school.

Established in 1951 and named in honour of Sir Robert Cosgrove, the school caters for approximately 200 students from Years 7 to 10. The school is administered by the Tasmanian Department of Education.In 2019 student enrolments were 183. The school principal is Andrew Woodham.

Derwent Park is a residential locality in the local government area (LGA) of Glenorchy in the Hobart LGA region of Tasmania. The locality is about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) east of the town of Glenorchy. The 2016 census recorded a population of 657 for the state suburb of Derwent Park. It is a suburb of Hobart. It is predominantly a light commercial and industrial area.
