Goodwood is a residential locality in the local government area (LGA) of Glenorchy in the Hobart LGA region of Tasmania. The locality is about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) east of the town of Glenorchy. The 2016 census recorded a population of 1049 for the state suburb of Goodwood. It is a suburb of Hobart. The small residential suburb starts just south-east of the Brooker Highway and Goodwood Road junction. It is best known for its annual Christmas light decorations. Most houses in Goodwood were built in the 1950s as public housing. The suburb is also home to light industry and docks. An Anglican church and two primary schools are also located in the suburb.

The Royal Hobart Showgrounds are the site of the Royal Hobart Show and many other smaller events including a market on the grounds every Sunday. The Royal Hobart Showground is located 10 km north of Hobart, between the junction to Brooker Highway/Goodwood Road and the Main Road in Glenorchy.

Cosgrove High School is a government co-educational comprehensive junior secondary school located in Glenorchy, a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Established in 1951 and named in honour of Sir Robert Cosgrove, the school caters for approximately 200 students from Years 7 to 10. The school is administered by the Tasmanian Department of Education.In 2019 student enrolments were 183. The school principal is Andrew Woodham.

Elwick Road is a major arterial road that runs through the northern suburbs of Hobart, Tasmania. The Road is the major link road between the Main Road and the Brooker Highway that connects to Glenorchy. The Road Passes through residential areas. The Tasmanian Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources proposes to re-align Elwick Road with Goodwood Road, reducing confusion and the number of traffic lights on the Brooker Highway.

Derwent Park Road is a major link road that connects the Brooker Highway to the Main Road, in the northern suburbs of Hobart, Tasmania. The Road starts at Main Road, Derwent Park and continues East across the Brooker Highway, ending at the Hobart Zinc Works. The road serves in excess of 14,000 vehicles per day.

The Glenorchy Ice Skating Rink is an ice sports and public skating centre built in 1980 and located in Glenorchy, Tasmania, Australia. It is the only ice rink in the state and serves as the home of Ice Hockey Tasmania and FSAT.

Elwick Racecourse (currently also known by its sponsored name of Ladbrokes Park Elwick) is a Thoroughbred horse-racing venue located on Goodwood Road within Glenorchy, Tasmania, Australia. It is located in close proximity to the Brooker Highway, Hobart Showground, Derwent Entertainment Centre, Glenorchy Art and Sculpture Park and the River Derwent. The Racecourse has a picturesque outlook across the river, as well as being dominated by views of kunanyi / Mount Wellington. Elwick features at least 110 race meetings and 210 trial days a year, but is most well known for hosting the Hobart Cup.

Moonah is a residential locality in the local government area (LGA) of Glenorchy in the Hobart LGA region of Tasmania. The locality is about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) south-east of the town of Glenorchy. The 2016 census recorded a population of 5421 for the state suburb of Moonah. It is a suburb in the city of Hobart, located approximately 5 km north of the central business district of Hobart, and lying directly north of the inner city suburb New Town.

Derwent Entertainment Centre, also known as the DEC and known commercially as MyState Bank Arena, is the largest indoor arena in Tasmania and the multi-purpose arena is the primary venue in Hobart for large indoor functions/events. It was constructed in 1989 and is situated in between the waterfront of the River Derwent, the Brooker Highway and Tattersalls Park. At maximum capacity, the DEC can accommodate 8,600 people. For sporting events, the venue can accommodate 5,500 people. On 2 July 2020, NBL Owner & Executive Chairman, Larry Kestelman, announced that the Tasmania government had been successful in its bid for a 10th NBL team. This new team will compete in the 2021/22 NBL season and will carry the Tasmania name. It will see Tasmania hosting their own NBL team for the first time in 25 years, with their home arena announced as the Derwent Entertainment Centre in Hobart. As part of the agreement between the NBL and the Tasmanian Government, the latter will provide $68.5 million -- $20 million of which will go to a new community four court multisport facility -- for upgrades of the Derwent Entertainment Centre, the side's new home arena. In 2019, it was also the main stadium in the NBL Blitz Preseason Tournament.

Moonah Arts Centre (MAC) is a publicly funded multi-arts hub in Moonah, Tasmania, a northern suburb of Hobart. Since opening on 6 March 2015 at a cost of AU$4 million, the centre stages exhibitions, live music, theatre, workshops and community festivals year-round. MAC is owned and operated by the Glenorchy City Council.

KGV Park, or simply KGV (King George V) is home to Football Federation Tasmania, the governing body for association football in Tasmania, and home to the Glenorchy Knights football team. It is referred to as the Home of Football in Tasmania. It is located in the heart of Glenorchy less than 1 kilometre from the Glenorchy CBD, 7 kilometres from Hobart City.

KGV Oval is the home headquarters of the Glenorchy football and cricket clubs, as well as the Southern Football League. The ground is a former TFL and now Tasmanian State League and also a Southern Football League finals venue. It is located in the heart of Glenorchy less than 1 kilometre from the Glenorchy CBD, and 7 kilometres from Hobart City. It is also the third largest capacity venue in Tasmanian football after North Hobart Oval (18,000), and York Park (20,000). KGV Oval is not to be confused with KGV Park, an adjoining association football (soccer) ground, which serves as the home of soccer in Tasmania and the base of Football Federation Tasmania.
