Hobart City High School

Hobart City High School is a government co-educational high school in New Town, Hobart. Hobart City High School was formed in 2022 when Oglivie High School and New Town High School merged. The merged schools were the last of Tasmania's single-sex public schools. Hobart City High caters for approximately 1200 students from Years 7 to 12. It is administered by the Tasmanian Department for Education, Children and Young People. Hobart City High School has two main campuses called Oglivie and New Town to recognise the previous schools. In 2022, the school's first lead principal was Deb Day. As of 2024, the current lead principal is Britany Roestenburg.

St John's Anglican Church is an Anglican church located in New Town, Tasmania, Australia, is notable for its unbroken record of use as a parish church, from the first service on 20 December 1835 up to the present. The parish is administered by the Anglican Diocese of Tasmania. The building was designed by the Tasmanian government civil engineer and architect, Dublin-born John Lee Archer who had been appointed in 1826 and arrived in Hobart Town in August 1827.The church was built by labourers and tradespeople from amongst the convicts on the island.Since it is more than 180 years old the church contains many features that reflect the life and times of Hobart as it developed in the 19th and 20th centuries.

New Town High School was a government comprehensive junior secondary school for boys (in Years 7 and 8) and co-educational (from Years 9 to 12). The school is located in New Town, a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Established in 1919, the school caters for approximately 700 students from Years 7 to 12. The school is administered by the Tasmanian Department of Education. In 2019 student enrolments were 698. The school principal is Shane Fuller. It was merged with Ogilvie High School to form Hobart City High School from the 2022 school year. The New Town High School site is referred to as the New Town Campus of the new school.

Sacred Heart College is a catholic school in New Town, Tasmania with an enrollment of 940 students. The schools serves students from kindergarten to year 10.

New Town Road is a link road that connects Elizabeth Street to the Main Road within the greater area of Hobart, Tasmania. This road has seen less usage since the construction of the Brooker Highway which allows traffic to move directly to the main road and onto the northern area of the state.

New Town is a suburb of the city of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, about 4 kilometres (2 mi) north of the central business district of Hobart. It is generally considered Hobart's oldest suburb, settled just a week after Sullivan's Cove. The large farms were broken up following the world wars and it is now an inner city residential suburb. Many of its streets are lined with Federation style cottages. It is surrounded by the suburbs of North Hobart, Mount Stuart, Lenah Valley and Moonah, with the Queen's Domain just to the south-east. Most of the locality is within the Hobart local government area, with 2.5% within Glenorchy.

Moonah Arts Centre (MAC) is a publicly funded multi-arts hub in Moonah, Tasmania, a northern suburb of Hobart. Since opening on 6 March 2015 at a cost of AU$4 million, the centre stages exhibitions, live music, theatre, workshops and community festivals year-round. MAC is owned and operated by the Glenorchy City Council.

Calvary Hospital is a Catholic not-for-profit private hospital, located in Lenah Valley, Hobart, Tasmania. Moonah is a residential locality in the local government area (LGA) of Glenorchy in the Hobart LGA region of Tasmania. The locality is about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) south-east of the town of Glenorchy. The 2016 census recorded a population of 5421 for the state suburb of Moonah. It is a suburb in the city of Hobart, located approximately 5 km north of the central business district of Hobart, and lying directly north of the inner city suburb New Town.

Hilliard Christian School is an independent Seventh-day Adventist co-educational primary and secondary day school, located in the Hobart suburb of West Moonah, Tasmania, Australia. The school caters for students from Year K to Year 10. The school was established in 1901 in Hobart. In 1903 Hilliard was moved to a permanent site on Warwick Street that the school occupied until April 1926.

The Tasmanian Hockey Centre, is a government owned outdoor field hockey stadium located in New Town, a northern suburb of Hobart. It offers three international standard water-based hockey pitches which are used for both international and domestic competition, as well as training activities.The stadium is home to the Tassie Tigers men's and women's hockey teams in Hockey Australia's premier domestic league, the Sultana Bran Hockey One League.

Derwent Park Road is a major link road that connects the Brooker Highway to the Main Road, in the northern suburbs of Hobart, Tasmania. The Road starts at Main Road, Derwent Park and continues East across the Brooker Highway, ending at the Hobart Zinc Works. The road serves in excess of 14,000 vehicles per day.
