The Pinchbeck Engine is a drainage engine, a rotative beam engine built in 1833 to drain Pinchbeck Marsh, to the north of Spalding, Lincolnshire, in England. Until it was shut down in 1952, the engine discharged into the Blue Gowt which joins the River Glen at Surfleet Seas End.

Weston is a village and civil parish in the South Holland district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated approximately 2 miles (3 km) north-east from the town of Spalding. The Civil Parish also includes Weston Hills. The population of the civil parish including Austendike was at the 2011 census 2,054.

Spalding Power Station is a 860 MW gas-fired power station one mile north of Spalding on West Marsh Road close to the River Welland. The current site provides enough electricity for one million households.

Surfleet railway station was a station in Surfleet, Lincolnshire, England. It closed to passenger traffic on 11 September 1961. The rail line is now the A16 road, and no trace of the station can be found.

St Paul's Church is a grade I listed church in Fulney, Spalding, Lincolnshire, England. It was designed by George Gilbert Scott in 1877–78, along with its schoolroom which is included in the listing and the grade II* listed vicarage, although it was not built until 1880, after his death.

Weston railway station was a station in Weston, Lincolnshire on the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway, Built by the Norwich and Spalding Railway and opened on 15 November 1858. It was on the main line between the Midlands and the Norfolk Coast, a route commonly used by holidaymakers in the summer months. It closed to passengers on 2 March 1959. The line divided west of here, some trains running in to terminate at Spalding and others carrying on west into the Midlands.

St Paul's is a ward of Spalding in Lincolnshire, England. It had a population of 5,603 at the 2021 Census.

Fulney is an area of Spalding, in the South Holland district, in the county of Lincolnshire, England. It is located to the northeast of Spalding town centre and is one of the oldest parts of the town. It became an ecclesiastical parish in 1877, and the Grade I listed St Paul's Church on Holbeach Road was built in 1880. In 1936 a Land Settlement Association was established at Fulney, made up of 38 tenanted smallholdings for unemployed miners from the north-east, at the time of the Jarrow March. Fulney now forms part of the wider Spalding urban area.

Surfleet is a small village and civil parish in the South Holland district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated on the B1356 road, 3 miles (4.8 km) north of Spalding, in the Lincolnshire fens. The River Glen runs through the village to the east where it becomes tidal at the hamlet of Surfleet Seas End. The name Surfleet derives from the Old English sūr flēot meaning damp creek. The parish had a population of 1,338 at the 2011 census.

Gleed Girls' Technology College was a secondary school on Neville Avenue in Spalding, Lincolnshire, England. It opened on 28 April 1941 as Spalding The Gleed Senior Council School and comprised boys' and girls departments which from 1946 were regarded as separate schools under the same management. From October 1946 to 1948 the two schools were known as Spalding Gleed Secondary Modern Schools. From October 1948 until at least 1974 they were again regarded as separate departments of the school which was known as Spalding Gleed County Secondary School. It became a Specialist Technology College in 2001. From September 2009 it was a combined Technology and Applied Learning Specialist College. The headteacher was Mrs Janet Daniels (previously at The Maltings Academy, Essex). The school's commitment to its staff was recognised by its redesignation as an Investors in People establishment. In 2011 the boys' and girls' schools amalgamated and became the Sir John Gleed School. The girls' school achieved considerable publicity when an email sent by a member of staff to a parent was placed into the public domain. The email was stated to contain 14 spelling or grammar errors. The incident was covered by national newspapers and TV.In September 2012 the school became a mixed school.

Gleed Boys' School was a secondary school for boys aged 11 to 16, in Spalding, Lincolnshire, England. The school has been merged with Gleed Girls' Technology College to form Sir John Gleed School, a co-educational secondary school with separate but conjoined campus buildings, one for boys and one for girls.
