Blagaj Fortress

Vrelo Bune (Serbian Cyrillic: Врело Буне; transl. Buna Wellspring) is the natural and architectural ensemble at the Buna river spring near Blagaj kasaba (village-town) and a part of the wider "Townscape ensemble of the town of Blagaj — Historical and Natural Heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina" (Ottoman Mediterranean architecture, 1520), southeast of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The main argument in the KONS decision to declare the site protected and as such part of the protected Blagaj as the historic urban area, is the corelation and oneness of natural values and the architectural, cultural and historical heritage of Blagaj, expressed in "distinctive quality of the coexistence of the natural and the man-made", and "integration of the physical structure into the landscape".

Blagaj is a historic village and protected heritage site in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is located in the south-eastern region of the Mostar basin, in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton. It stands at the edge of Bišće plain and is one of the most valuable mixed urban and rural built environments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, distinguished from other similar built environments in its urban layout. Blagaj was most likely named for its mild weather patterns since blaga in Serbo-Croatian means "mild". Blagaj is situated at the spring of the Buna river and a historical tekke (tekija or Dervish monastery). The Blagaj Tekija was built around 1520, with elements of Ottoman architecture and Mediterranean style and is considered a national monument. Blagaj Tekke is a monastery built for the Dervish.

Buna (Serbian Cyrillic: Буна) is a populated settlement at the confluence of the Buna river and Neretva river some 10 km downstream the Neretva and south of Mostar, Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The famous source of the Buna river (Vrelo Bune) is a strong karstic spring. The Buna river flows west from its source for approximately 9 kilometres and joins the Neretva near the village Buna.

Kamena (Serbian Cyrillic: Камена) is a village in the Municipality of Istočni Mostar in Republika Srpska, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Prior to Bosnian War, Kamena was part of Mostar, however, with the partition of Bosnia and Herzegovina after the Dayton agreement in 1995, the village was divided, with the eastern part of the village being enjoined to the newly-established Istočni Mostar, a part of the metropolitan area of Mostar that was assigned to Republika Srpska, while the western part of the village remained in Mostar.

Kamena (Serbian Cyrillic: Камена) is an abandoned village in the City of Mostar in Herzegovina-Neretva Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Prior to the Bosnian War, Kamena was part of Mostar, however, with the partition of Bosnia and Herzegovina after the Dayton agreement in 1995, the village was divided, with the eastern part of the village being enjoined to the newly established Istočni Mostar, a part of the metropolitan area of Mostar that was assigned to Republika Srpska, while the western part of the village remained in Mostar. Today, Kamena is uninhabited.
