Sandymount High School was a coeducational secondary school on Herbert Road, Sandymount, Dublin 4 which operated for over 50 years before closing in 1999.

Sandymount Hotel (formerly Mount Herbert Hotel) is a 4 star hotel in Dublin, Ireland, sited on the old Haig's Distillery. The hotel consists of 8 interconnected Victorian houses which were originally constructed in 1866 and built with bricks from the old distillery.

Herbert Road (Irish: Bóthar Hoirbeaird) in Ballsbridge, Ireland is a mostly residential road that links Tritonville Road with Lansdowne Road. Newbridge Avenue joins by the bridge, in front of Marian College and the former site of Sandymount High School next door. There are several hotels on the road. Noteworthy is the Mount Herbert Hotel that is a conversion of a terrace of stately homes. The road extends to the roundabout at the junction, which is part of Lansdowne Road. Both this road, and Newbridge Avenue, are built on the former site of Haigs' distillery.The house at 14 Herbert Road sold for €2.41m in February 2004, setting a record price for a house in this road.

Newbridge Avenue (Irish: Ascaill an Droichid Nua) is a road in the Sandymount district of Dublin which links Herbert Road and Tritonville Road. In the novel Ulysses, the funeral of the character Paddy Dignam starts here at number 9 and continues on to Glasnevin Cemetery via Tritonville Road. The Dignams were said to live at number 9; the property was, in reality, vacant in 1904.Both this road and Herbert Road were built across land which once belonged to Haigs' distillery and so it used to be called Haig's Lane; the foundations of the Avenue were constructed with stone which originally came from the Dodderbank Distillery. The distillery fields at this location featured in the sensational murder of the Reverend George Wogan in 1826. A new stone bridge replaced the old wooden toll bridge in the mid-19th century, giving the road the name of "New Bridge Avenue." Construction of houses upon this land then took place in the 1860s.Due to the Irish property bubble of recent times, properties in this road have risen greatly in value and, in 2006, a house was sold for €2M.

Aviva Stadium (also known as Lansdowne Road or Ireland's stadium; Irish: Staid Aviva) is a sports stadium located in Dublin, Ireland, with a capacity for 51,700 spectators (all seated). It is built on the site of the former Lansdowne Road Stadium, which was demolished in 2007, and replacing it as home to its chief tenants: the Irish rugby union team and the Republic of Ireland football team. The decision to redevelop the stadium came after plans for both Stadium Ireland and Eircom Park fell through. Aviva Group Ireland signed a 10-year deal for the naming rights in 2009.The stadium, located adjacent to Lansdowne Road railway station, officially opened on 14 May 2010. The stadium is Ireland's first, and only, UEFA Category 4 Stadium and in 2011, it hosted the Europa League final. It also hosted the inaugural Nations Cup, as well as the regular home fixtures of the national rugby team, national football team and some home fixtures for Leinster Rugby from August 2010 onwards. Unlike its predecessor, which was solely owned by the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU), the current stadium is controlled by the IRFU and the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) through a 50:50 joint venture known as the Lansdowne Road Stadium Development Company (LRSDC). The joint venture has a 60-year lease on the stadium; on expiry the stadium will return to the exclusive ownership of the IRFU.

The London Bridge is a bridge over the River Dodder in Dublin, Ireland. The current bridge was opened in 1857 with an unknown engineer designing the structure. A previous bridge was built at some point between 1798 and 1837 based on historical maps of Dublin. The bridge connects Bath Avenue to Londonbridge Road on the R111 road. Traffic across the bridge is limited to one lane by traffic lights at each end.

At its southern end it meets Serpentine Avenue.The northern side of Tritonville road is considered to be part of Irishtown by the locals even though the post code is Sandymount. The street takes its name from the Tritonville baths, established by the Cranfield family in the late 18th century; these were in turn named after the sea-god Triton.In Ulysses, the funeral of Paddy Dignam passes along here and continues on to Glasnevin Cemetery via Irishtown.
