Beacon Towers

The Sands Point Lighthouse is located in Nassau County, New York, on Long Island, along its northern coast, in the Town of North Hempstead. The fourth lighthouse to be established on Long Island, this 1809 stone tower was built by an American Revolutionary War veteran who stayed on as its first keeper for many years. The Lighthouse is sometimes referred to the Mitchell Lighthouse, after Samuel L. Mitchell, the man who fought for it to be constructed.

Sands Family Cemetery is a historic cemetery located at Sands Point in Nassau County, New York. It was established about 1704 and includes burials through 1867. It includes 12 rows of 86 extant headstones. Records indicate the cemetery contains 112 members of the family, relatives, and friends. It includes a number of notable examples of funerary art.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

Execution Rocks Light is a lighthouse in the middle of Long Island Sound on the border between New Rochelle and Sands Point, New York. It stands 55 feet (17 m) tall, with a white light flashing every 10 seconds. The granite tower is painted white with a brown band around the middle. It has an attached stone keeper's house which has not been inhabited since the light was automated in 1979.

The John Philip Sousa House, also known historically as Wildbank, is a historic house at 12 Hicks Lane, overlooking Manhasset Bay, in Sands Point, New York. Built in 1907, it was the home of composer and bandleader John Philip Sousa (1854-1932) from 1912 until his death. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1966. It is still a private residence and is not open to the public.

Huckleberry Island (or Whortleberry Island) is an island in Long Island Sound and part of New Rochelle, New York. It lies approximately three-fourths mile (1.2 km) east of Davids' Island. The 10 acres (4.0 ha) island consists primarily of deciduous forest with virtually no shrubs or herbaceous growth under the canopy. The rocky shoreline supports a marine rocky intertidal community comprising one of the most southerly occurrences of this community type on the North Atlantic Coastline.In the 19th century local tradition held that the island was the location of the buried treasure of Captain William Kidd, one of the most well-known pirates in history.
