Beacon Towers was a Gilded Age mansion on Sands Point in the village of Sands Point on the North Shore of Long Island, New York. It was built from 1917 to 1918 for Alva Belmont, the ex-wife of William Kissam Vanderbilt and the widow, since 1908, of Oliver Belmont.

The Sands Point Lighthouse is located in Nassau County, New York, on Long Island, along its northern coast, in the Town of North Hempstead. The fourth lighthouse to be established on Long Island, this 1809 stone tower was built by an American Revolutionary War veteran who stayed on as its first keeper for many years. The Lighthouse is sometimes referred to the Mitchell Lighthouse, after Samuel L. Mitchell, the man who fought for it to be constructed.

Built in 1907, it was the home of composer and bandleader John Philip Sousa (1854-1932) from 1912 until his death. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1966. It is still a private residence and is not open to the public.

Manorhaven is a village in Nassau County, on the North Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. It is considered part of the Greater Port Washington area, which is anchored by Port Washington. The population was 6,556 at the 2010 census. The Incorporated Village of Manorhaven is located on the Cow Neck Peninsula, within the Town of North Hempstead.

Sands Point Seaplane Base (FAA LID: 7N3) is a seaplane landing area in Manhasset Bay, two miles (3 km) northwest of Port Washington, in Nassau County, New York. During 1939-40 Sands Point was the New York base of Pan American's transatlantic Boeing 314 flights.

Execution Rocks Light is a lighthouse in the middle of Long Island Sound on the border between New Rochelle and Sands Point, New York. It stands 55 feet (17 m) tall, with a white light flashing every 10 seconds. The granite tower is painted white with a brown band around the middle. It has an attached stone keeper's house which has not been inhabited since the light was automated in 1979.

Port Washington North is a village in Nassau County, on the North Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. It is considered part of the Greater Port Washington area, which is anchored by Port Washington. The population was 3,154 at the 2010 census. Hempstead House, also known as the Gould-Guggenheim Estate or Sands Point Preserve, is a large estate that was built for Howard Gould and completed for Daniel Guggenheim in 1912. It is located in Sands Point on the North Shore of Long Island in Nassau County, New York.

Thomas Dodge Homestead is a historic home in Port Washington, Nassau County, New York. It is a settlement-era farmhouse dated to 1721 with additions completed in approximately 1750 and 1903. It is a 1+1⁄2-story, L-shaped, heavy timber-frame building sheathed with natural cedar wood shingles. The main block has a saltbox shape and there is a nearly square, 1+1⁄2-story gable-roofed wing. Also on the property are a contributing barn (1880), privy (1886), chicken coop, and shed. It is operated as a historic house museum by the Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society, which has its headquarters in the Sands-Willets Homestead, another historic house museum. Thomas Dodge Homestead was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The Port Washington Water Pollution Control District (abbreviated as PWWPCD) is a public sewer district in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. It serves the Greater Port Washington area of Long Island's North Shore.
