Waynesburg Historic District

Miller Hall is an historic, American building that is located on the campus of Waynesburg University in Waynesburg in Greene County, Pennsylvania. Part of the Waynesburg Historic District, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Waynesburg University is a private university in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. It was established in 1850 and offers undergraduate and graduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations. The university enrolls over 2,500 students, including approximately 1,800 undergraduates.

Waynesburg is a borough in and the county seat of Greene County, Pennsylvania, United States, about 50 miles (80 km) south of Pittsburgh. Its population was 3,987 at the 2020 census.The region around Waynesburg is underlaid with several layers of coking coal, including the Pittsburgh No. 8 seam, the Waynesburg seam, and the Sewickley (Mapletown) seam. The area is also rich with coalbed methane, which is being developed from the underlying Marcellus Shale, the largest domestic natural gas reserve. Early in the 20th century, four large gas compressing stations and a steam shovel factory were located in Waynesburg. Waynesburg is named for General "Mad" Anthony Wayne, one of the top lieutenants of George Washington during the Revolutionary War (1776–81). The borough is the location of Waynesburg University, and it is served by the Greene County Airport.

Bridge in Franklin Township is a historic arch bridge located at Franklin Township in Greene County, Pennsylvania. It is a 132-foot-long (40 m), open spandrel, concrete arch bridge constructed in 1919-1921. It crosses Ten Mile Creek.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

West Waynesburg is a census-designated place in Franklin Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located next to the western border of Waynesburg, the Greene County seat, within a mile of downtown, along Pennsylvania Routes 18 and 21. As of the 2010 census, the population of West Waynesburg was 446.

Charles Grant Heasley House is a historic home located at Franklin Township in Greene County, Pennsylvania. It was built between 1903 and 1905, and is a three-story, square brick building with a slate covered hipped roof. It measures approximately 42 feet by 42 feet, and sits on a stone foundation. The roofline features four chimneys, four spires, a pinnacle with finial, and six dormers. The house is representative of the Châteauesque style.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Morrisville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Franklin Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,265 at the 2010 census.

Thomas Kent Jr. Farm is a historic home and farm located at Franklin Township in Greene County, Pennsylvania. The house was built about 1851, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, brick dwelling with a 2-story rear ell in the Greek Revival style. It measures 43 feet by 36 feet. Also on the property are the contributing frame barn (c. 1850), corn crib (c. 1850), shed (c. 1920), two car garage (c. 1928), and pond (c. 1928).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Greene County Career and Technology Center is a comprehensive career and technical school serving students from five school districts and their respective high schools in Greene County. The school is centrally-located in the county, in Franklin Township, just east of Waynesburg.

Waynesburg Central High School is a public high school serving around 500 students in grades 9-12 and is located near Waynesburg, the county seat of Greene County. WCHS is the sole high school of the Central Greene School District.

The George W. Gordon Farm is an historic home and farm which is located in Whiteley Township in Greene County, Pennsylvania. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.
