Jefferson is a borough in Greene County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 253 at the 2020 census, a decline from the figure of 270 tabulated in 2010. The borough was named after Thomas Jefferson.

It is located in Jefferson, Pennsylvania, about 55 miles (90 km) south of Pittsburgh in northeastern Greene County. Enrollment was 320 students in grades 7–12 in the 2018–2019 school year.

Colver-Rogers Farmstead, also known as the Norval P. Rogers building, is a historic building located at Morgan Township in Greene County, Pennsylvania. The original section was built in 1830, and is a two-story, stone dwelling, with a two-story stone wing, in a vernacular Greek Revival-style. The building was modified about 1906, with the addition of a gambrel roof and rambling porch with Colonial Revival-style design elements. Also on the property is a bank barn (c. 1880) and large wash house (c. 1906).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The Mather Mine disaster refers to the events surrounding an explosion that occurred in the Mather Mine on May 19, 1928 at 4:07 PM in Mather, Pennsylvania. A report released by the United States Bureau of Mines states that a total of 195 men were killed in the catastrophe, of which two died in hospitals after being discovered by rescue crews and volunteers. The Mather Mine disaster ranks as the seventh worst mining disaster in U.S. history and the second worst in Pennsylvania history.

A two-story, log house built in 1847, was moved and attached to the house about 1974. Also on the property is a banked stone spring house built in 1782.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
