Little Thurlow is a village and civil parish in the West Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England, located around a mile north-east of its sister village Great Thurlow, and four miles north of Haverhill. Little Thurlow is roughly 15 miles (24 km) east of Cambridge and on the B1061. It has a few houses and is surrounded by farmland and rural areas. The nearest school is located just down the road in Thurlow, and it is a CEVC primary school. Little Thurlow is surrounded by wealthy estates and manors, with Clare Castle Country Park located 6 miles away, Kentwell Hall and Gardens 11 miles away, and Hedingham Castle also 11 miles away.

Trundley and Wadgell's Wood, Great Thurlow is a 79.4 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of Great Thurlow in Suffolk.These semi-natural woods on boulder clay soils are mostly ancient coppice with standards, with pedunculate oak as the main standard trees. They have ground flora typical of ancient woodland such as early purple orchid, yellow archangel and sanicle. There are wide grassy rides which are dominated by Yorkshire fog.The woods are private land with no public access.

The Domesday Book records the population of Little Bradley in 1086 (including Great Bradley) to be 57. It lies in the valley of the River Stour, north of Haverhill. The population at the 2011 Census was included in the civil parish of Great Bradley The 11th century Church of All Saints is one of 38 existing round-tower churches in Suffolk. It is a grade I listed building.

Castle Newnham School is a mixed all-through school located over two sites in Bedford, Bedfordshire, England.The school was formed in January 2016 from the merger of Castle Lower School on Goldington Road and Newnham Middle School on Polhill Avenue. The new school has also expanded its age range up to 16. In addition, Hazeldene Lower School on Stancliffe Road has formed a soft federation with Castle Newnham School, with graduating pupils from Hazeldene Lower School expected to attend Castle Newnham School. It used to be Newnham Middle School which was made in the 1960s.

Great Wratting is a village and civil parish in England, about four miles from Haverhill, Suffolk, in the valley of the River Stour. There is a ford across the Stour in the centre of the village, where bathing and fishing are common pursuits. The river here is heavily populated by crayfish, a non native species long since escaped from farms near the mouth of the Stour.

Great Bradley is a village and civil parish in the West Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England. According to Eilert Ekwall the meaning of the village name is the "wide clearing". The population is about 400 and includes Little Bradley. There is evidence that people have lived in and around Great Bradley by the River Stour since the middle stone age over 5,000 years ago. John Killingworth (d.1617) of Little Bradley (later of Pampisford, etc.) obtained a grant (or confirmation) of Arms on 25 November 1586. When his father Richard died in October 1586 he requested in his Will that "My body is to be buried in the parish church of Great Bradley. 10 shillings to the said church."

Kedington is a village and civil parish in the West Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England, located between the towns of Clare and Haverhill in the south-west of Suffolk. Known as Doomtown in the Domesday Book (1086), there were 280 people living there at that time. Part of it was formerly in Essex. Kedington's church, St Peter and St Paul, is one of the historical treasures of East Anglia, dating from the late 13th century. However, the church is built on top of a Roman villa, the remains of which can be viewed under small trap doors located in the pews towards the back of the nave. There is an Anglo-Saxon stone cross located above the altar on the east wall of the church. This was found near to the church and is believed to be from a church dating from Saxon times. Kedington comes in the top rank of small English churches and is renowned for its unmodernised interior and Barnardiston tombs. John Betjeman understandably christened Kedington ' a village Westminster Abbey'. The 17th century Archbishop of Canterbury John Tillotson was rector of Kedington prior to his elevation.
