Dietlikon railway station

Dietlikon is a municipality in the district of Bülach in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland, and belongs to the Glatt Valley (German: Glattal).

Dübendorf is a municipality in the district of Uster in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. It is a suburb of Zürich in Switzerland with a population of about 30,000 (2021). It is the fourth largest city in the canton, after Zürich, Winterthur, and Uster.

Nürensdorf is a municipality in the district of Bülach in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland.

Bassersdorf is a railway station in the Swiss canton of Zurich and the municipality of Bassersdorf. The station is located on the Zurich to Winterthur main line, to the east of where the Zürich Airport and Kloten lines diverge. It is an intermediate stop on the Zurich S-Bahn services S7 and S24.The original route of the railway was through the centre of Bassersdorf. But with the construction of a new railway to serve Zürich Airport in 1980, this route was abandoned along with the original Bassersdorf railway station from 1877, built by Schweizerische Nationalbahn. A new station was constructed on the new line, some 500 m (1,600 ft) to the south of the original station.

The Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (Eawag, German acronym for Eidgenössische Anstalt für Wasserversorgung, Abwasserreinigung und Gewässerschutz) is a Swiss water research institute and an internationally networked institution. As part of the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology Domain, it is an institution of the Federal Department of Home Affairs of the Swiss Confederation. The Eawag is based in Dübendorf near Zurich and Kastanienbaum near Lucerne. After its foundation in 1936 it concentrated on wastewater treatment and drinking water supplies. From these beginnings it has expanded into a multidisciplinary research institute with a focus on three primary research areas: water as a foundation of health and well-being, water as an essential factor in the functioning of our ecological systems, and strategies for the mitigation of water use conflicts. Nowadays, with a staff of over 500 employees, Eawag is actively engaged in research, teaching and consulting in all areas pertaining to water. Eawag's overall aim is to ensure the sustainable use of water resources and infrastructure and to harmonize the ecological, economic and social interests associated with bodies of water. In doing so, the Eawag plays an important role in bridging research and practice.

The Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Empa, German acronym for Eidgenössische Materialprüfungs- und Forschungsanstalt) is an interdisciplinary Swiss research institute for applied materials sciences and technology. As part of the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology Domain, it is an institution of the Swiss federation. For most of the period since its foundation in 1880, it concentrated on classical materials testing. Since the late 1980s it has developed into a modern research and development institute.

Dübendorf is a railway station in the Swiss canton of Zurich. It is situated in the municipality of Dübendorf on the Wallisellen–Uster–Rapperswil line.

Richti Wallisellen is a mixed-use development (residential, commercial, offices) on former industrial land situated between Wallisellen railway station and the 1970s-era Glattzentrum indoor shopping mall.The master plan of the new complex was designed by architect Vittorio Magnago Lampugnani on a model of an Italian city center. Richti Wallisellen is made of six five-storey high buildings and one 72-meter-high glass high-rise. Four buildings are for residential purpose. The first two, already inhabited, host private apartments and are respectively designed by Vittorio Magnago Lampugnani (Konradhof) and SAM Architekten (Escherhof). The second two host apartments for rent, and are both designed by Diener & Diener. The remaining two buildings are for offices. The first office building hosts the new headquarter of Allianz Suisse from end 2013, and is designed by Wiel Arets Architects. This is a much discussed and highly technological complex, and is composed of 2 glass buildings connected by bridges. The second office building will host the new headquarter of UPC Cablecom from end 2014, and is designed by Max Dudler Architekten. The complex has several public gardens with recreational areas for kids and a small Japanese garden in the internal court of the Allianz low building. All gardens are for public use, and open to public. The Richtiarkade is the main artery of the complex, and has Richtiplatz at its center.

The Glattzentrum, more formally known as the Einkaufszentrum Glatt or Glatt shopping centre, is a shopping mall located in the Glatt Valley close to the Swiss city of Zurich. Politically, the mall is situated in the municipality of Wallisellen.The mall was opened in 1975, being modeled on similar malls in the United States. Like its US progenitors, the mall was intended to be accessed by car, and it is located close to the A1 motorway and provides spacious car parking. In 2010, phase 2 of the Stadtbahn Glattal opened, including an elevated tram stop linked to the mall by a footbridge. Before that the public transportation connections were limited to three bus lines (nr. 94, 759 and 787) connecting the center to the railway stations Zürich Airport, Zürich Oerlikon, Dübendorf, Wallisellen and Dietlikon. When built, the mall was jointly owned by the Migros, Globus and Jelmoli groups, each of which operated an anchor store within the centre. Today the mall is owned by Swiss Life. The Migros store still exists, as does the (now Migros owned) Globus store, but Jelmoli no longer has any involvement. In addition to the two remaining anchor stores, there are four specialty markets, five restaurants, four bars and 90 specialty shops. In front of Glattzentrum is the newly built open-air Richti shopping center.

International School – Zurich North (ISZN) is a multi-cultural day school for students aged 3 to 18, located in the north-eastern suburbs of Zurich, Switzerland. The Staffelegg Formation (German: Staffelegg-Formation, French: Formation de la Staffelegg, Italian: Formazione della Staffelegg) is a formation of Early Jurassic age (late Hettangian to early Toarcian stages) in the Canton of Aargau of northern Switzerland. The siltstones, marls, limestones and intermittent sandstones of the formation were deposited on the Northern Tethyan Carbonate Platform (NTCP). The Staffelegg Formation has provided fossils of the ichthyosaur Eurhinosaurus longirostris and the ammonite Catacoeloceras raquinianum.
