San Martín Palace

The Instituto del Servicio Exterior de la Nación ("Foreign Service Institute of the Nation", ISEN), is the Argentine government's training institution for employees of the diplomatic service. It is dependent on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship. Its purported goals are to select and train Argentine diplomats and other employees of the diplomatic service so they may advance the Argentine foreign affairs agenda, as well as to produce knowledge on current international affairs.Since its foundation in 1963, it has served as the only institution for selecting and training diplomatic professionals in Argentina. ISEN graduates are granted "diplomatic state" for life, meaning they must follow the responsibilities laid out in Argentine diplomatic law even after retirement.

The Palacio Haedo is a 19th-century building on the Avenida Santa Fe in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is located to the south of the Torre de Los Ingleses and the Plaza San Martín and Monument del libertador Jose de Plaza San Martín, in close proximity to the Consulate of Colombia and the Gran Hotel Buenos Aires. It was built in the late 19th century as a residence for the Haedo family by architects Passeroni and Brizuela in the Neo-Gothic style. In 1871, the residence was acquired by Reynaldo Villar and subsequently by Dominga Villar y Cristina Manuela Villar, but soon came under the ownership of the Banco Popular Argentino. Now the headquarters of the National Parks Administration, it has been a listed historic monument since 2001.

The Monumento a los caídos en Malvinas (transl. Monument to the Fallen in the Falklands) is a cenotaph in Plaza San Martín, in Buenos Aires, dedicated to the 649 Argentine soldiers who were killed in the Falklands War. The inscription reads La nación también rinde homenaje a los que guardan en su cuerpo o memoria las huellas del combate. (transl. The nation also honors those who store in their bodies or their memories the footprints of combat.)

The Kavanagh Building (Spanish: Edificio Kavanagh) is a famed skyscraper in Retiro, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Designed in 1934 by architects Gregorio Sánchez, Ernesto Lagos and Luis María de la Torre, it is considered a pinnacle of modernist architecture. At the time of its inauguration in 1936, the Kavanagh was the tallest building in Latin America surpassing the Palacio Salvo built in Montevideo in 1928, as well as the tallest building in the world with a reinforced concrete structure. It is considered one of the quintessential buildings of Buenos Aires. A 2013 Clarín survey of 600 people who are not architects or builders found that the Kavanagh is the most liked building among porteños. The Kavanagh Building was declared a Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers in 1994 and a National Historic Monument of Argentina in 1999.

Retiro-Belgrano, or simply Retiro, is one of the six large mainline railway station termini in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Located in the neighborhood of Retiro, it serves as terminal station for the Belgrano Norte Line that runs local trains to the northern suburbs of the Buenos Aires metropolitan area. It also functions as terminal station for the national cargo train General Belgrano Railway. Built in 1912, its Beaux-Arts design makes it one of the most recognizable landmarks of french neoclassicism in the country. The terminal is the fourth-busiest train station in Argentina.
