Scranton Lace Company

Meadow Brook is a tributary of the Lackawanna River in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is approximately 2.0 miles (3.2 km) long and flows through Dunmore and Scranton. The watershed of the stream has an area of 2.43 square miles (6.3 km2), though it used to be considerably larger. It is designated as a Coldwater Fishery and a Migratory Fishery, but many reaches of the stream have been destroyed by mining or post-mining development impacts. The stream flows through a culvert system for much of its length. However, there are areas where it is in an open concrete channel or has a natural streambed. There are also patches of old-growth forest along the stream in the Forest Hill Cemetery. Meadow Brook has experienced significant flow loss and what flow it does have mainly consists of intermittent stormwater flows. There used to be springs, seeps, and wetlands at the stream's headwaters. However, a colliery (and later a landfill) was built over that area. The Dunmore Cemetery and the Forest Hill Cemetery are in the stream's vicinity. Meadow Brook is a first-order stream.

The Houdini Museum is located at Scranton, Pennsylvania. Harry Houdini appeared in Scranton and did several special challenges there. His brother, Hardeen, also appeared in Scranton and in its sister city, Wilkes-Barre. The longest engagement of Houdini's career was in this area of northeast Pennsylvania when he spent two full seasons with the Welsh Brothers Circus. Documents and letters attesting to this are on display in the museum's renovated 125-year-old building and on its website. Houdini performed at Sylvester Z. Poli's theater for in Scranton, which was part of the Keith-Albee-Orpheum circuit at the time. This would later become the RKO Pictures circuit. The Houdini Tour, show, and museum attraction is a popular Scranton attraction. The museum features memorabilia, artifacts, mannequins and films of Houdini. The Houdini Tour includes a magic show. A tour and show takes about two and a half to three hours.The live show at the museum includes two nationally known magicians, Dorothy Dietrich and Dick Brooks.

Programming is simulcast on co-owned WCDL/1440AM & W294BJ/106.7FM, licensed to nearby Carbondale, Pennsylvania, and translator W228CN at 93.5FM in Clarks Summit. The station is owned by Bold Gold Media. In 2006, the station owners dropped the previous oldies format in favor of a sports radio format branded as "THE GAME" with programming coming from Fox Sports Radio and CBS Sports Network's Jim Rome. WICK simulcasted "THE GAME" radio format on its sister station WCDL located in Carbondale, Pennsylvania . The simulcast network is also the flagship network for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders AAA Minor League Baseball radio play-by-play coverage.WICK broadcast local play-by-play for high school and college football and basketball for over four decades. In the past, the station has also broadcast locally-based sports talk shows. Starting in 2009, "The District 2 Review & More" aired Thursdays from 5 to 6pm during the high school football and basketball seasons. The show was hosted by Paul Grippi and Jim Riley. In 2013, "The Friday Night Sportsline with Chris Kucharski" was added to the lineup, airing 5 to 7pm on Fridays. In 2014, a daily weekday drive time show was launched called "The CK Sports Blitz". The show aired Monday through Thursday from 4pm to 6pm and 4pm to 5pm on Fridays. The show was hosted by local sports personality Chris Kucharski. Upon the launch of the daily show, Kucharski left as host of "The Friday Night Sportsline" and was replaced by Eddie Walker. On March 8, 2020, WICK changed format from sports to oldies, branded as "The Mothership".

The Tripp Family Homestead, also known as the "Tripp House", is an historic, American house that is located at 1101 N. Main Avenue in Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

The Silkman House is located at 2006 Main Ave., Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. Even though it is popularly known as the Providence Branch of the Scranton Public Library, it is currently used as the technical services department of the Lackawanna County Library System and is no longer open to the public.

It enrolled 1,792 ninth through twelfth grade students in 2010. It is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.The school offers honors and advanced classes for motivated students. Regular classes are aimed at a wide range of students with different academic abilities. The school provides ESL (English as a Second Language) and development courses for students. The school is designated as a Title I school wide institution. The student population was Caucasian - 1,190, Hispanic - 263, African American - 184, Asian/Pacific Islander - 100 and Native American - 1. The student body included 857 females and 881 males in 2010.

Scranton Armory is a historic National Guard armory located at Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1900, and is a four-story, 20 bays by 26 bays, brick and stone building executed in the Romanesque Revival style. The front facade features a central stone arch entrance flanked by crenellated towers.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Dickson Works, also known as the Stacor Building, is a historic factory building located at 225 Vine Street in Scranton, Pennsylvania, a town in Lackawanna County. It was built about 1856, and is a long three-story, brick industrial building measuring 100 feet by 300 feet. It features a tower measuring 100 feet tall, a double pitched roof with clerestory windows, and shallow segmental arched windows. It once housed the Dickson Works, a shop to repair and manufacture mine machinery and boilers. The Stacor Equipment Company occupied the building in 1963, and manufactured library tables and furniture.In December 1977, Jerome Fink, then CEO of Pennsylvania Paper & Supply Co., purchased the Dickson works building at 225 Vine Street. It was submitted by Fink to the National Register of Historic Places in March of 1979 and entered into the register in May of the same year.The Dickson Manufacturing company built locomotives, stationary engines, and boilers. The company also provided materials to railways including gas pipes and fittings, steam and water fittings and engine furnishings.
