It was founded in 1967 as TV Vila Rica, being acquired by Grupo Bandeirantes de Comunicação in 1975. It covers most of the state, together with its co-sister Band Triângulo, located in Uberaba. Its studios are in the São Bento neighborhood, in the southern region of the capital of Minas Gerais, and its transmission antenna is in Serra do Curral, in Belvedere.

The University Center of Belo Horizonte (UniBH) (Portuguese: Centro Universitário de belo Horizonte) is a university located in the city of Belo Horizonte in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil. It is considered the best university center of the city of Belo Horizonte and one of the best universities in Brazil, according to the Brazilian Ministry of Education (survey 2011). Acquired by pt:Anima Educação (the business alias of the publicly traded company GAEC Educação, SA (ANIM3:SA)), it is one of the strongest names in higher education in Belo Horizonte, along with UFMG and PUC Minas. UniBH is also one of the most prestigious universities in the country, due to their extension projects and their effort in bringing quality private education to those less fortunate. The UniBH also has ten courses by starry Student Guide of Editora Abril and two courses regarded as the best in the country, Physical Education and Mathematics, according to the RUF 2012 (University Ranking of Folha de S.Paulo). UniBH was acquired in 2009 by Anima Educação. The Guignard University of Art of Minas Gerais (Portuguese: Escola Guignard) is a university of fine arts in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brasil. It was founded on 28 February 1944 by the Brazilian painter Alberto da Veiga Guignard (1896-1962) on request of Juscelino Kubitschek, mayor of Belo Horizonte and later President of Brazil. Guignard became a noted arts educator in Brazil and remained a professor at Guignard for the remainder of his life.The school is noted for its unorthodox administration and educational methods: students and teachers work together freely, and the school lacks the bureaucracy typical of other Brazilian educational institutions. Guignard offers two degrees: a degree in art education and bachelor's degree in fine arts.

The Palácio das Mangabeiras was the official residence of the governor of Minas Gerais state, Brazil. It was finished in 1955 at the end Juscelino Kubitschek's term as governor. The building was designed by Oscar Niemeyer and the gardens were planned out by Roberto Burle Marx. Subsequent governors have expanded the building, altering the original layout of the building. The palace is located at Serra do Curral, in the Mangabeiras region of Belo Horizonte. Construction started in 1951 by request of then governor Juscelino Kubitschek who wished to relocate his family to a residence other than the Palácio da Liberdade, which he considered inaquate to conciliate both professional and personal activities. From its inauguration until 2019 it was the official residence of all the elected governors of Minas Gerais. That changed with the election of Romeu Zema, who opted to remain in his then residence. On June 5, 2019 a decree was issued that removed the building as the official residence of the governor. In 2022 the palace, along with the 42 thousand square meters it occupies, was converted into a public park. Since then it has hosted 42 major events as well as minor ceremonies and workshops.

Colégio Marista Dom Silvério, or CMDS, is a private Marist school located on the southern region of Belo Horizonte, in Brazil. Its courses go from pre-school to high school, which in the Brazilian educational system is usually identified with ages from 4 to 17. CMDS was founded in 1950, and hosts more than 3,000 students. Part of the school's finances were used for the seven-year-long construction of Marista Hall. The school is named after Dom Silvério Gomes Pimenta, a Catholic priest of the early twentieth century who was a member of the Academia Brasileira de Letras, the Brazilian Academy of Literature. The current principal of CMDS is Professor Edison de Souza Leite.
