Ludlow Mountain

Okemo Mountain Resort is a ski resort located in the town of Ludlow, Vermont, United States. The resort experienced 600,000 skier visits in 2009. Parents Magazine rated it the Top US Family Snow Resort.

Ludlow is an incorporated village within the town of Ludlow, Windsor County, Vermont, United States. It is sometimes called Ludlow Village, to distinguish it from the surrounding town of the same name. The population was 773 at the 2020 census.

Ludlow is a town in Windsor County, Vermont, United States. The population was 2,172 at the 2020 census. Ludlow is the home of Okemo Mountain, a popular ski resort. Before becoming a ski destination, Ludlow was originally a mill town, and was the home of a General Electric plant until 1977. It was named after Ludlow, Massachusetts which is less than 100 miles away. There is also a village of Ludlow in the town.

The Ludlow Graded School is a historic former school building at 10 High Street in the village of Ludlow, Vermont. Built in 1871–72, the school was for many years the primary school feeding the adjacent Black River Academy (on whose original site it stands). The building now serves as a local senior services center. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The United Church of Ludlow, formerly the Congregational Church of Ludlow, is a historic church at 48 Pleasant Street in the village of Ludlow in Vermont. Built in 1891, it is one of the only churches in the state built in a fully mature expression of Shingle Style architecture. Its Congregationalist congregation was organized in 1806, and in 1930 it merged with a Methodist congregation to form a union congregation. The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

The Black River Academy is a historic school building on High Street in the village of Ludlow, Vermont. Chartered in 1835, the school served as the town high school until 1938. The present building, a Richardsonian Romanesque structure built in 1888, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972 for its architectural and historic educational significance. It presently houses the Black River Academy Museum, operated by the Black River Historical Society.

The Zachariah Spaulding Farm is a historic farmstead on South Hill Road in Ludlow, Vermont. With a history dating back to 1798, it is a well-preserved example of diversified 19th-century farmstead, made further distinctive by the remains of a sauna, the product of ownership by two Finnish families in the 20th century. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Okemo State Forest covers 7,466 acres (30.21 km2) in Andover, Ludlow, Mount Holly and Weston, Vermont, United States, in Windsor and Rutland Counties. Okemo Mountain Resort is located in the forest. The forest is managed by the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation. Activities in the forest include hiking, biking, cross country skiing, snowmobiling and hunting. Portions of the forest are open to primitive camping. Access is both by state and town road as well as state forest highways (4WD gravel roads). Okemo State Forest is home to the 798-acre Terrible Mountain Natural Area.

Lake Rescue is located in Windsor County of south central Vermont, in the northeastern United States. Occupying 180 acres (73 ha) and reaching depths of 95 feet (29 m), it is the tenth-deepest and 23rd-largest lake in the state. Lake Rescue is located along VT Route 100 about three miles north of Ludlow and Okemo Mountain, and it is surrounded by the town of Ludlow. The lake is fed by the Black River and is the third of four lakes extending from Plymouth, Vermont through Ludlow, with Lake Amherst and Echo Lake to the north and Lake Pauline to the south. The northern section of the lake, connected to the main body via a shallow channel, is referred to as Round Pond.

The Fletcher Farm School is an arts and crafts school in Ludlow, Vermont, USA, operated by the non-profit Society of Vermont Artists and Craftsmen. Courses are given on weekends in winter and spring, and during the summer. The school teaches a broad range of skills including fiber arts, woodworking, pottery, jewelry and photography.

The Windsor-Rutland-1 Representative District is a one-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census. The Windsor-Rutland-1 District includes all of the Windsor County towns of Ludlow and Plymouth, and the Rutland County town of Mount Holly. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The one member Windsor-Rutland-1 District had a population of 4,245 in that same census, 4.58% above the state average.

Brook Farm is a historic country estate farm at 4203 Twenty Mile Stream Road in Cavendish, Vermont. It includes one of the state's grandest Colonial Revival mansion houses (built 1894), and surviving outbuildings of a model farm of the turn of the 20th century. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. The property is now home to the Brook Farm Vineyard.
