West Coats Primary School

Holmhills Community Park is a recreational area in the southern part of Cambuslang, a town on the south-eastern fringes of the City of Glasgow, Scotland, UK. The area is bordered to the east by Greenlees Road (opposite the entrance to Cambuslang Public Park), to the south by Western Road, to the west by Langlea Road (at Cathkin High School), and to the north by Grenville Drive. Originally the ground was owned by the Lahore family of Whitlawburn Farm in the western part and the other families who owned Holmhills Farm and Greenlees Farm to the east. These lands were used for grazing Guernsey cattle and growing barley until the mid-1960s when John Lahore sold his property to the then Lanark County Council (now South Lanarkshire Council) and moved to Montrose. Shortly afterwards the remaining two farmers also sold up so that, by the end of the 1960s, all the lands comprising the current park were owned by the local authority - most of the territory was converted into housing at Whitlawburn. In 2016 the park was highlighted as one of the best locations in the region for a "beautiful walk to enjoy the changing season".In 2017, decorative seating - which had been installed in the park by the local community group to allow children to explore a pond - was ruined by vandals within a week.

Cambuslang railway station is a railway station which serves the town of Cambuslang, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. The station is 5 miles (8 km) south east of Glasgow Central, and is regularly served by trains on the Argyle Line to and from Glasgow Central (both Low & High Level). Passenger services are provided by ScotRail on behalf of Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT).

Cambuslang Rangers Football Club are a Scottish football club based in Cambuslang, South Lanarkshire. Nicknamed The Lang, Camby or The Wee Gers, were formed in 1899, they play at Somervell Park and wear blue strips (uniforms). They will play in the West of Scotland Football League Conference B from season 2021–22 after moving from the West Region of the Scottish Junior Football Association in 2020. They were awarded the title of 'Scottish Junior team of the 20th century' by the SJFA due to the honours they won in the 1970s.

Rutherglen High School is a non-denominational, co-educational secondary school in Cambuslang, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, for pupils with additional support needs.The school was established in August 1999 and has shared a campus with Cathkin High School in the neighbourhood of Whitlawburn since the opening of new buildings in October 2008; prior to this, it occupied the vacated annexe of Stonelaw High School (originally Gallowflat School) in central Rutherglen, about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) further north, with the relocation met with opposition by some parents and board members due to the anticipated disruption to the pupils' routines. A nursing home now occupies the Rutherglen site.

Rutherglen and Hamilton West is a burgh constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, which was created for the 2005 general election. It covers almost all of the former constituency of Glasgow Rutherglen and most of the former constituency of Hamilton South, and it elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first-past-the-post system of election. The current MP is Margaret Ferrier, an independent, who won the seat at the 2019 snap general election. She had previously held the seat from 2015 to 2017. Ferrier was previously a Scottish National Party MP until the whip was withdrawn on 1 October 2020 after an incident relating to a breach of the COVID-19 pandemic regulations.Historically a safe Labour seat, in 2015 it was gained by the Scottish National Party when they won a record 56 of the 59 Scottish seats at Westminster; ending 51 years of Labour Party dominance at UK general elections in Scotland. Two years later at the 2017 general election, the seat was taken back by Labour by just 265 votes. Coincidentally in the neighbouring Lanark and Hamilton East, sitting MP Angela Crawley held her seat by 266 votes.

Whitlawburn is a residential area in the town of Cambuslang in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is located south of the town centre on high ground overlooking the Greater Glasgow urban area.

Cambuslang (Scots: Cammuslang, from Scottish Gaelic: Camas Lang) is a town on the south-eastern outskirts of Greater Glasgow, Scotland. With approximately 30,000 residents, it is the 27th largest town in Scotland by population, although, never having had a town hall, it may also be considered the largest village in Scotland. It is within the local authority area of South Lanarkshire and directly borders the town of Rutherglen to the west. Historically, it was a large civil parish incorporating the nearby hamlets of Newton, Flemington, Westburn and Halfway.Cambuslang is located just south of the River Clyde and about six miles (ten kilometres) southeast of the centre of Glasgow. It has a long history of coal mining, from at least 1490, iron and steel making, and ancillary engineering works, most recently The Hoover Company (in the town from 1946 to 2005). The Clydebridge Steelworks and other smaller manufacturing businesses continue but most employment in the area comes from the distribution or service industries. The headquarters of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is in Cambuslang.

West Whitlawburn Housing Co-operative is a housing co-operative and registered social landlord on the outskirts of Glasgow, Scotland. Situated in Cambuslang the co-operative is a social housing provider managing 644 former council housing on the West Whitlawburn estate, housing approximately 2500 residents. As a fully mutual housing co-operative the tenants are members and shareholders and elect a management committee of members to oversee the running of the organisation. Founded in 1989 the co-operative is one of the largest housing co-operatives in Scotland, and one of the few stock transfer social housing co-operatives not to have been converted into a housing association.
