Black Lake (Triglav Lakes Valley)

Savica Falls is a waterfall in northwestern Slovenia. It is 78 meters (256 ft) high and is fed by a karst spring also called Savica just above the waterfall. A large portion of water is sourced from a karst basin around Black Lake, which lies around 500 meters (1,600 ft) higher above the waterfall, because of which the spring has a relatively steady and strong flow. Water flows to the spring below the ground, where it splits into two parts. After heavy rains, the water supply from the lake and its surroundings may exceed the capacity of tunnels, and a portion of water flows on the surface in cascading waterfalls 600 meters (2,000 ft) high. The waterfall continues in a stream of the same name, which flows into Lake Bohinj as its main source. Water from Lake Bohinj is further a source of the Sava Bohinjka, which forms the Sava River after joining with the Sava Dolinka.

The Triglav Lakes Lodge (Slovene: Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih) (1685 m) is a mountain lodge between Double Lake (Dvojno jezero) and the artificial Lake Močivec (jezero Močivec) below Mount Tičarica in the heart of the Julian Alps, northwestern Slovenia. The first structure was built in 1880 by an Austrian hiking club. In 1955 and 1988, it was rebuilt and expanded. It has four dining rooms with 150 seats, 13 rooms with 30 beds, and 13 larger sleeping rooms with 170 bunks. The lodge is open from the end of June until the start of October

Komna is a mountain karst plateau in the Julian Alps in northwestern Slovenia. It has an elevation from 1,300 metres (4,300 ft) to 1,750 metres (5,740 ft). It has a triangular shape and rises above the Bohinj Basin. To the east, it continues into the Triglav Lakes Valley. The lowest measured temperatures in Slovenia were recorded at Komna in January 2009, reaching −49 °C (−56 °F).

The Triglav Lakes Valley (Slovene: Dolina Triglavskih jezer) is a rocky hanging valley in the Julian Alps in Slovenia, below the sheer sides of Mount Tičarica and Mount Zelnarica southwest of Triglav. The valley is also called the Seven Lakes Valley (Dolina sedmerih jezer), although there are ten and not seven lakes in the valley. It is above the tree line and is geologically alpine karst; therefore it has also been termed the Sea of Stone Valley (Dolina kamnitega morja).

Ukanc (pronounced [ˈuːkants]) is a settlement near Lake Bohinj in the Municipality of Bohinj in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. It is southwest of the lake. The majority of buildings in the settlement are either hotels or holiday houses.

Triglav National Park (TNP; Slovene: Triglavski narodni park, TNP) is the only national park in Slovenia. It was established in its modern form in 1981 and is located in the northwestern part of the country, respectively the southeastern part of the Alpine massif. Mount Triglav, the highest peak of the Julian Alps, stands almost in the middle of the national park. From there the valleys spread out radially, supplying water to two large river systems with their sources in the Julian Alps: the Soča and the Sava, flowing to the Adriatic and Black Sea, respectively.

The Migovec System (Slovene: Sistem Migovec) is a 43,009-metre-long (141,000 ft) and 972-metre-deep (3,190 ft) Alpine cave system within Mount Tolmin Migovec (Tolminski Migovec) in the Municipality of Tolmin in northwestern Slovenia. The mountain and the cave system are part of Triglav National Park. The combined system is the longest known cave in the country, followed by the Postojna Cave System (24,340 m or 79,900 ft).

The Julian Alps (Slovene: Julijske Alpe, Italian: Alpi Giulie, Venetian: Alpe Jułie, Friulian: Alps Juliis, German: Julische Alpen) are a mountain range of the Southern Limestone Alps that stretch from northeastern Italy to Slovenia, where they rise to 2,864 m at Mount Triglav, the highest peak in Slovenia. A large part of the Julian Alps is included in Triglav National Park. The second highest peak of the range, the 2,755 m high Jôf di Montasio, lies in Italy. The Julian Alps cover an estimated 4,400 km2 (of which 1,542 km2 lies in Italy). They are located between the Sava Valley and Canale Valley. They are divided into the Eastern and Western Julian Alps.

Vogel is a 1922 m high mountain in Slovenia, part of southern Julian Alps and Triglav National Park. There is a cable car from Lake Bohinj to a height of 1537 m. Vogel Ski Resort is one of the biggest of its kind in Slovenia.

Kanjavec is a 2,569-metre (8,428 ft) mountain in the center of Triglav National Park. It lies between the Dolič Pass at 2,164 m, the Hribarice Pass at 2,306 m and the Prehodavci Pass at 2071 m. Kanjavec is also a popular ski touring destination. From the summit, there is a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. It is relatively easy to ascend, with a few exposed areas.

Lake Bohinj (Slovene: Bohinjsko jezero, German: Wocheiner See), covering 318 hectares (790 acres), is the largest permanent lake in Slovenia. It is located within the Bohinj Valley of the Julian Alps, in the northwestern Upper Carniola region, and part of Triglav National Park.

Sveti Duh (pronounced [ˈsʋeːti ˈduːx], German: Heiligengeist) is a former village in the Municipality of Bohinj. It is now part of the village of Ribčev Laz. It is part of the traditional region of Upper Carniola and is now included in the Upper Carniola Statistical Region.
