Brower Park is a municipal park in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York City. It is located between Brooklyn Avenue to the west and Kingston Avenue to the east, and between St. Marks Avenue to the north and Park Place to the south. The T-shaped park encompasses roughly 4 acres (1.6 ha) and shares a square block with the Brooklyn Children's Museum and P.S. 289 George V Brower.

The Brooklyn Children's Museum is a children's museum in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York. Founded in 1899, it is the first children's museum in the United States – and according to some, the first one worldwide. It is unusual in its location in what is predominantly a residential area. Housed in a multi-level underground gallery, the museum underwent an expansion and renovation to double its space, reopened on September 20, 2008, and became the first green museum in New York City.

Brooklyn Home for Consumptives (previously, Garfield Memorial Home; later, Brooklyn Thoracic Hospital and Brooklyn Hospital; currently, Brooklyn Hospital Center) was an American sanatorium located in Brooklyn, New York. Founded in 1881 as an almshouse, it was a purely benevolent and non-sectarian institution. It had two sections, one of which was attended by homoeopathic physicians and the other by allopathic practitioners, who treated the patients according to their choice. The home went through several changes before becoming the Brooklyn Hospital Center.

Crown Heights North Historic District is a national historic district located in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, Kings County, New York. The district encompasses 1,019 contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Brooklyn. The district features noteworthy examples of Greek Revival, Gothic Revival, Italianate, Second Empire, Queen Anne, Romanesque Revival, Renaissance Revival, Beaux-Arts, and Colonial Revival style architecture. It largely developed between about 1853 and 1942, and consists of densely constructed rowhouses, townhouses, two-family houses, semi-attached houses, freestanding houses, flats, apartment buildings, and institutional and commercial buildings. Notable buildings include the former Union League Club Building (c. 1889), Union United Methodist Church (1889-1891), Brooklyn Methodist Episcopal Church Home (1889, 1913), Bedford Central Presbyterian Church (1897, 1906), Hebron French Speaking Seventh Day Adventist Church (1909), St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church (1915-1916), and the former Kings County Savings Bank (1929-1930).: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014. Two years later, its boundaries were expanded to take in 600 more buildings, including some associated with Shirley Chisholm, the first African-American woman elected to Congress.

Basil Pizza & Wine Bar is a restaurant in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Basil is credited with "ushering in the new era of fine kosher dining in the neighborhood, " so that by 2017 The Jewish Week described Crown Heights as "an eating destination." The menu features a range of vegetarian and fish dishes, in addition to pizza baked in a wood-fired oven. Frank Bruni of The New York Times describes Basil, which opened in 2010 on the West Indian side of a neighborhood with a mixed population of Orthodox Jews, immigrants from the West Indies, that was beginning to attract hipsters and upscale purchasers for it fin de siecle row houses, as a "cross-cultural experiment, trying to promote better integration of, and communication between, groups in Crown Heights that haven’t always mingled much or seen eye to eye."Moshe Wendel was part of the team that opened Basil. The Forward called Wendel, one of the "small band of chefs has led the way in kosher dining, with restaurants that rival their local non-kosher competition."The owner is Daniel Branover.

770 Eastern Parkway (Yiddish: 770 איסטערן פארקוויי), also known as "770", is the street address of the World Headquarters of the Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic movement, located on Eastern Parkway in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, New York, in the United States. The building is the center of the Chabad-Lubavitch world movement, and considered by many to be an iconic site in Judaism.

Lamplighters Yeshivah was a Jewish Montessori-style school for Jewish children located in Crown Heights, Brooklyn that was founded in 2009. In 2020, the school was closed due to financial difficulties.

On January 8, 2024, clashes broke out at the World Headquarters of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement, a synagogue located at 770 Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, as construction workers, on behalf of the synagogue's leaders, attempted to fill in a tunnel that students had illegally dug beneath the building. The New York City Police Department was called to intervene and arrested nine people.

The Jewish Children's Museum is the largest Jewish-themed children's museum in the United States. It aims for children of all faiths and backgrounds to gain a positive perspective and awareness of the Jewish heritage, fostering tolerance and understanding. The permanent collection features exhibits designed to be both educational and entertaining to children, often employing interactive multimedia. At the miniature golf course on the roof, for example, each hole represents a stage in Jewish life. The museum is located in the Chabad-Lubavitch Chasidic community of Crown Heights at 792 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, New York, near 770 Eastern Parkway, the headquarters of the Lubavitch movement. Built by architect, Steve H. Wilkowski of Milagros PM, the museum opened in 2004. In 2005, the Museum was among 406 New York City arts and social service institutions to receive part of a $20 million grant from the Carnegie Corporation, which was made possible through a donation by New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg.

The Rohr Jewish Learning Institute (JLI) is a division of Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch, the educational arm of the Chabad-Lubavitch Orthodox Jewish Hasidic dynasty. It offers adult Jewish courses on Jewish history, law, ethics, philosophy and rabbinical literature worldwide. It also develops Jewish studies curricula specifically for women, college students, teenagers, and seniors. In 2014, the organization claimed there were 117,500 people enrolled in JLI, making it the largest Jewish education network in the world. It was created with a mission to make the teachings, values and traditions of the Jewish people accessible and personally meaningful to all Jews, regardless of their background or affiliation. The JLI model combines a research-based approach with instructional design, aiming to present traditional Jewish teachings in a contemporary academic framework. Its headquarters are located in the Crown Heights area at Brooklyn, New York City.
